@Sherr33 i feel like everyone going through it is just information overload keeping up with their own stuff never mind anyone else’s!

I know it’s hard when you just hope it will work so badly. My husband had surprisingly been very good at taking his supplements but diet isn’t great at all for either of us tbh. the drs were happy enough with our results so hoping they’ll still be fine. My husband had antisperm antibodies that stick to the sperms and stop fertilisation so unfortunately not amount of vitamins or good diet can change it.

oh that’s good you’re all sorted with some leave then. It’s really not that long until your egg collection, hopefully the next few weeks will go quick for you! I’m not sure what to do about work yet tbh, I have a really high pressure job and get really stressed at work sometimes so I’m considering asking my dr if they’ll sign me off for a few weeks as I don’t want to stress to effect the treatment. It doesn’t seem the done thing though so I’m not sure if they will

@Sherr33 I am 41, well 42 soon. They advise for older to do PGTA - preimplantation screening if chromosomal normal or not. With age more eggs are abnormal. As I had 4 chemical and my age it was recommended to do, not to waste time transferring abnormal and then failing. But it is the area to research and some people don't do but just try. My AMH is 17, but very bad quality left, as dr saud - I cannot change your age 😕 Some over 40 women get euploid embryos through testing (normal), but in my case I have bad luck so far.

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 10:57

@Cat191 my consultant when giving my amh results made it sound like I was hitting menopause the next day! I remember how shit it made me feel. But since then I've read on everyone else's results and I understand that it's not the end of it all.

How are you feeling today?

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 10:59

@TT82 ahhh I see that makes sense. I think some of these tests should be carried out on all regardless of age. I feel like you can gather so much more information to make the first cycle less of a trial and error. Have they advised you on way to improve this?

OP posts:
TT82 · 31/01/2024 11:06

@Sherr33 some research shows the embryo might get damaged during biopsy and also below 35 most eggs are normal, so risk not worth it, and cost. I am already for more than a year on full supplements from It starts with an egg book.. No, unfortunately it is age and either you are lucky and get good egg or not.

Try not to stress about AMH level, important you have eggs wgich can grow and ivf will help to get all available that month. As most important is quality, and at below 40 it is good %.

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 11:14

@TT82 oh. Oh gosh I didn't realise the affects of the pgta testing an the risk it imposed. I take that back then. Feel so silly for saying it like that now

Thank you. I flit between worry and just positive thoughts about the whole process

OP posts:
Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 11:15

@TT82 have you taken a supplement called nmn?

OP posts:
Cat191 · 31/01/2024 11:24

@Sherr33 who is your consultant mine is Dr omar I felt very bad aswel when I found out because I didn't know what it meant but I don't think it affects you when your trying naturally just when your going through ivf.. he wanted me to do pgt testing over my amh level low but he also said over my age it might not be a problem because with all my miscarriages I got them tested and there was no chrosome problems or anything like that with them
And I'm OK thanks for asking wbu how is the side effects today

TT82 · 31/01/2024 11:28

@Sherr33 no, not that one, as read both positive and negative, also podcasts, so haven't made my mind yet, but am considering. Taking the rest, and it is like full meal almost per day 😅

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 10:28

@Bnichols89 @Eljane34 @TTC12 @camelinastorm @waitingforourmiracle @thirtyandmore how are you all getting on?

Still no sign of AF, so frustrating 😫because I'm doing a mild cycle with create there is no downreg so I will start injections on day 2 of my cycle, was hoping I'd be almost finished now but not even started!

@180monkeys I think I'm similar to you with medication, 125iu Gonal-f then will add in cetrotide x

180monkeys · 31/01/2024 12:20

@waitingforourmiracle yes sounds like we’ll be on it similar meds! Did you have a high follicle count?

that’s annoying about you not getting started when you thought you would, hopefully won’t be too much longer for you! Is this your first cycle?

waitingforourmiracle · 31/01/2024 12:24

@180monkeys I've never actually been told my follicle count, or maybe I have and I missed it!!

Yes first cycle and it's my NHS cycle! How about you?

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 12:25

@TT82 im taking them, the zita west multi vitamin, fish oil and folate. Well I was taking them religiously for 2 months back in September but then stopped now at it again. Hopefully itl make some difference. Especially since they are quite costly when you add them all up.
At one point I was taking coq10 vit d fish oil two types of zita west nmn folate it got a bit much Especially since we didn't know when we were going to be starting!

@waitingforourmiracle have you spoken to your clinic? Have they advised anything? Maybe tomorrow 1st of Feb will be the lucky day fingers crossed for you.

Adding to your above post i havent had a follicle count.. ever. So 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
180monkeys · 31/01/2024 12:33

@waitingforourmiracle @Sherr33 ah it’s funny what some of them mention and some don’t isnt it! I’m just worried about having to do a freeze all as my follicle count was 30 at my scan and I’ve seen some people saying over 20 can mean freeze all but none of my consultants I’ve seen privately or nhs have mentioned it so I’m hoping we can do a fresh transfer. Suppose never really know until you get started and see how it goes.

this is my first cycle and NHS also, have to say I’ve actually been very impressed with the NHS process so far

waitingforourmiracle · 31/01/2024 12:57

@Sherr33 I emailed last Friday and they basically said just try not to stress about it, I don't feel like I am stressed just more frustrated, it's impossible not to think about it! 🙄

@180monkeys at my consultation they mentioned about a freeze all over a certain amount but I can't remember how many she said!

What clinics are everyone using?

Cat191 · 31/01/2024 13:50

@180monkeys yes they told me anything over 20 they will have to do a freeze all
I'm attending the beacon wbu

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 14:20

@waitingforourmiracle I hate the try not to stress haha. I'm going to give you some other cliché advice. Maybe go away for the weekend or make this weekend a mini break at home. Just switch off. Warm bath. A comedy movie. Indulge.

OP posts:
waitingforourmiracle · 31/01/2024 14:36

@Cat191 I'm with create in Manchester

@Sherr33 a chilled weekend is defo on the cards!!

Cat191 · 31/01/2024 14:53

How is everyone doing today I just feel exhausted tbh I don't know isit the tablets I'm on or all the googling I'm doing lol

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 15:01

@Cat191 im the same! So drained. Im pinning this on the tablets. And maybe over doing it on certain topics online. Like should I do acupuncture should I add this is it too late for this ..... driving myself up the wall half the time. I ended up snoozing during my lunch break and honestly I could curl up into a ball and fall back to sleep again.

OP posts:
waitingforourmiracle · 31/01/2024 15:17

@Sherr33 how strange I have literally just sent an email enquiry about acupuncture! Thinking it may help get my period started! Wishful thinking!

Cat191 · 31/01/2024 15:24

Then at night time when it's time for bed ya get insomnia lol and the weather is not helping either lol @Sherr33 @waitingforourmiracle I don't know about acupuncture because on my protocol it says no Chinese herbs or medicines so that's coming from a doctor lol

Eljane34 · 31/01/2024 16:58

Hey all, so had my first day 2 scan this morning and all fine, very relieved. I have 7 follicles (previously had 6) which I am relieved about considering my low AMH. They also found a Corpus Luteum cyst, which is harmless and is the aftermath of our chemical pregnancy we suspected we had last month.

The scan was actually quite uncomfortable, I had quite bad cramping during, so just be aware of this when you all go for yours!

I have my meds in the fridge, and will start taking tomorrow night - 1 injection of 300iu Pergoveris in the evening, then have the next scan booked in for Monday, when they will add a morning injection in too. Cetrotide (don't know how to spell it!) I think.

All very very overwhelming but happy to start the process.

My friend had reflexology when she was going through all of this and she loved it - @Sherr33 @waitingforourmiracle might be worth a go?

@TT82 the doctor kept saying to me about PGT, however, I spoke with the lab doctors who do the PGT testing and they say its usually more benefitial like you said for women over 40, even if your AMH is low. We are going to have a go at our two rounds (bought a package with Access) and then decide after that about PGT for further rounds if needed. It's just so many different options, opinions, results, benefits, negatives etc.. way too much to try and make a decision over.

@180monkeys is your clinic within a NHS hospital/maternity ward? Or is it a bit like how dentists do now, private clinics that take on a number of NHS patients? We wanted to go NHS but they were too slow and time isn't on our side!

@waitingforourmiracle Can't believe you're still waiting!!!! sending AF vibes your way!!!

TT82 · 31/01/2024 17:30

@Eljane34 how old are you? Sorry for asking
If less than 40 I would not do it... it is expensive, then you might end up with nothing to transfer and feeling really bad.. Lower than 40 good chances are that quality is good (even if quantity less than average) and you still then have time to do more cycles if needed. They do say that biopsy is the placenta part, some correct themselves etc...
This time I even asked to try to do 1 3d fresh and rest to test...just like to try one transfer and earlier where they say better environment to develop in uterus. Or maybe I just want to try 1 teansfer...and not just going through EC cycles 🙈 But dr said last time I was at risk of having overstimulated ovaries syndrome, and most likely no fresh transfer 😕
