@180monkeys downregg pill is norethisteron 🙈 shuts down the ovaries kind of, like menopause. But usually women are fine to it, I had bad physical and mental reaction 😖
If haven't taken it, just maybe prepare yourself and your husband 😅 (I almost divorced mine those 3 weeks!)

180monkeys · 30/01/2024 12:02

@TT82 ah ok, I always thought I didn’t have to do the down reg because I’m on short protocol but I’m probably just getting all the terms mixed up now! I’ve to take it for a week so I’ll tell him not to come near me that week 🤣

I’ve just got my schedule on my online portal today but haven’t actually had an appointment to go through it yet so hopefully they will explain everything in detail then

Sherr33 · 30/01/2024 20:00

Hi all

Just a general update i think I'm on day 5 of norethisterone and still bloated/gassy and extremely tired and today just not feeling very good mentally either. Alot of negative thoughts and just low mood. I don't know what to do about that.

TT82 · 30/01/2024 20:06

@Sherr33 oh I feel your pain!!! Just remember it is this pill, it will pass 🙏 as soon as you start getting back all the hormones. Dont make any important decisions, dont argue with close people (I told ny husband I cannot live like that, wantca divorce and to run away 🤦🏻‍♀️) just literally your aim to get to the day with the last pill

Cat191 · 30/01/2024 20:11

@Sherr33 I think the tablet your on must be similar to the one I'm on and I feel exactly the same I even got my af 4 days earlier which doesn't help things cos your already feeling low... I'm also breaking out in acne and like cold sores around my mouth it's just all the side effects kicking in but you have to keep thinking it's all going to be worth it in the end fingers crossed 🤞

Sherr33 · 30/01/2024 20:51

@TT82 im so glad I read your message. Thats exactly how I felt I just wanted yo scream and argue with my partner and just go away somewhere. Escape. I just felt so off today and was trying to start something. 😩 I cant wait for thr last day of these tablets

@Cat191 they must be similar. Once I stop these I should have AF it actually cant wait for that. As right now I feel rotten

Hope everyone else is okay

@Sherr33 this cycle I will be for a bit more than 2 weeks on them, so lucky! Last one I was for almost 4 weeks! (This is when I had side effect of hives all over my legs and arms constantly). My hospital use then also to schedule the cycle in a queue..I take them on the 2nd day of periods and then all depends when they schedule the start of stimulation 🤦🏻‍♀️
Should start the injections on the 22nd, never thought that you fan actually look forward to those injections 😅

Cat191 · 30/01/2024 21:17

@Sherr33 I think the load will go off you once you get af I'm on my 5th day and I'm breaking out in acne on my face it's annoying tbh I start stims next Tuesday I can't wait tbh

Sherr33 · 30/01/2024 21:55

@Cat191 @TT82 I start my injections on the 15th. I can't wait to stop these though counting down the days haha

What injection will you be taking?

OP posts:
180monkeys · 30/01/2024 21:59

@Sherr33 ill be counting down the days from now too, just want to get started! Mine will start in 23rd.

I’m taking 150ig gonal f then I think I will add cetrotide as well after a week or so, what are you taking? I only got my schedule today but have an appointment next week where I’m hoping they will go over it in more detail

Sherr33 · 30/01/2024 22:06

@180monkeys are you starting the tablets or the injections on the 23rd?

Il be starting gonal f 225 and then another injection (i forget the name ganirelix?)

OP posts:
180monkeys · 30/01/2024 22:46

@Sherr33 sorry injections start on 23rd, starting tablets on 9th! Hoping the side effects from them aren’t too bad..

will this be your first cycle?

Cat191 · 30/01/2024 22:48

Hi I will be on gonal f 450 and luveris 150 and testogel and then I will add cetroide 0.25 after a few days aswel just realised I'm on a high dose of the gonal f compare to you @Sherr33

TT82 · 31/01/2024 06:46

@Sherr33 I don't know for sure, when I have my AF and start this lovely downregg pill next week, then only dr appointment. But last two times I was on menopur 225 and then later garilex (short antagonist). It worked so they probably will keep the same. I mean worked from the collected egg number not that we have anything viable to transfer. Menoupur and Gonal are multidose pen, very very thin needle, so not painful at all. But garilex (in my case) were normal 1 dose thicker syringes ... 👀 so I got advice from another lady on MN to put icepack or frozen peas bag 5-10mins before to numb the area, and then was goon no bruises. Same with the ovulation trigger shot

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 07:04

@180monkeys ahhh you start your tablets when I stop mine. Good luck with them I know everyone has different experiences on the medications. Yes this will be my first cycle. I can't recall whether you've already but is it your first too?

@Cat191 that is a much higher dose than mine. Is this your first cycle? Sorry if you've already said. He said he'd start me on 225 and if needed increase he said its because my amh for my age is lower end of normal (17.9)

@TT82 thank you for that tip. How many cycles have you had before and what was the outcome?

OP posts:
180monkeys · 31/01/2024 08:07

@Sherr33 you can let me know how you get on with the tablets then, hopefully they won’t be too bad!

Yes it’s my first cycle as well so very excited to get started but also a bit nervous about everything

TT82 · 31/01/2024 08:34

@Sherr33 I had 2 EC cycles in August and November last year. 1st: 9 collected, 7 ivf fertilised, 4 5d embryos, none PGTA euploid. 2nd: 17 collected, 14 mature and 10 icsi fertilised (sperm is good, they wanted icsi for PGTA testing, apparently better sample ), but only 2 5d embryos this time, also uneuploid.
We will do probably last one and then either will look into donor egg (adoption) or just close the subject. We are happy to have 2 kids, but wity my husband 1, so he would love one more. Me too, but this secondary infertility and age (chemical pregnancies) took a lot of my mental and physical health...so not sure I am ready tbh. Dr thinks we have a year of trying as hormones still very good

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 10:25

@TT82 was pgta testing something that tour consultant advised to go ahead with? And what's the difference between euploid and uneuploid? After each cycle did they give you an advice or go into why you were getting the results you got etc? What has your amh been for the 2x cycles you've done

OP posts:
Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 10:26

@180monkeys day 8 on the tablets. I don't know when but bloated / gassy, weird taste in mouth and very very low moods. And an odd period like crampy feeling.

Im the same nervous excited and just all sorts of weird and wonderful emotions.

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 10:28

@Bnichols89 @Eljane34 @TTC12 @camelinastorm @waitingforourmiracle @thirtyandmore how are you all getting on?

OP posts:
180monkeys · 31/01/2024 10:30

@Sherr33 oh sorry I didn’t realise you’d started your tablets. Symptoms don’t sounds great but hopefully they won’t get any worse for you!

Yes I’m really excited then sometimes just get randomly very emotional about it all. I’m sure the extra hormones won’t help that either 😂

are you planning on taking any time off work for it all?

Sherr33 · 31/01/2024 10:36

@180monkeys its okay its hard to keep up with information sometimes I ask the same person the same question 2 or 3 x and just hope they don't gett annoyed at me!Hahaha.

Im worrying a lot too. About results and the pressure I'm putting on myself and getting annoyed at my partner for not doing the bare minimum which is to eat well and take supplements I mean one thing I've been banging on about for god knows how long but has it sunk in...nope.

I've booked a day off for my scan which is on the 23rd and then potential egg collection I've booked off 26th 27th and 28th but I may amend that. I just chose those 3 days incase there's any delays

How about yourself?
