@Eljane34 we're also paying for private because the waiting list would be so long and I'm 34 so didn't want to wait and lower our chances. We also went for a 2 cycle package and just hoping for the best 🤞🏻

@Sherr33 sorry you're feeling so bloated - my nurse mentioned that a high protein/lower carb diet can help when you're getting bloating symptoms so maybe worth a try? Hopefully things get better for you 💛

Had a really sad weekend where we had to say goodbye to our little cat who got sick really suddenly. Not what we needed right now 😞

Sherr33 · 29/01/2024 10:13

@Bnichols89 sorry to hear about your cat. And you're right during this time its the last thing you want to be going through. I had my nieces 2nd birthday party and my friends new born (shes 3 weeks old already) party. It just made feel positive for myself. But then when you're left with your thoughts all sorts of doubt trickles in.

The bloat and gas attacks have been terrible and I have been extra tired.

I keep reading other groups where people have got x amount of embryos and ahhh my mind boggles and wants to ask what they did to get such positive results but everyone is different. I just hope I get something. I havent even started my stims and I'm already over thinking the end results

How is everyone doing and what up dates do you all have? Anyone starting stims soon?

@Bnichols89 I’m 34 too, how long have you been TTC if you don’t mind me asking? Sorry to hear about your cat, so sad 😔 and NOT what you need right now. I find that everything happens all at once, or that’s how it feels atleast.

@Sherr33 ive actually just been sent home from work, I think AF has arrived, not properly yet, so feel like I’m just waiting and waiting. I’ve called the clinic and rebooked my scan for Wednesday. but just felt like I was having a bit of a panic attack and couldn’t stop crying! My boss is so supportive and knows everything that is going on so just sent me home. I’ll be off work now I think, or working from home at least.

Feeling very nervous about the scan and how many follicles I have, had 6 last time, I’m hoping for more but very worried that there may be less. When are you starting the stims?

Bnichols89 · 29/01/2024 10:38

@Eljane34 thanks 💛 we've been trying for 3 years. Had one pregnancy & miscarriage in that time but found out our problem is male factor so we're doing ICSI to give us the best chance. So sorry you've been having such a tough time, and really glad you have such a supportive boss and workplace, that definitely really helps.

Sherr33 · 29/01/2024 10:50

@Eljane34 aw im sorry to hear that. It is overwhelming and really really time consuming as in its all you think about at times for me it was need to start tablets now that I've started them im just thinking il be starting stims on the 15/02 and counting down the days etc. I have got a provisional offer for a new job so im stressing about that I dont know what il do because where I am at im secure in the fact that I can take mat leave and wfh etc but the new post I dont know where I stand. My current work dont know about the ivf side but if im not well I can wfh etc I really needed the higher paid job but now its just too much to thibk about

@Sherr33 I think you should stay where your comfortable for now anyway the new place might not be as understanding and you don't need the stress that's just my opinion

waitingforourmiracle · 29/01/2024 13:39

@Cat191 I tried the salts but nothing yet! I've taken them twice and I'm going to try again tonight, just wary of taken too much!

@Eljane34 I tracked OPKs up to about cycle day 30 and they were all strong lines so god know what is happening with this months cycle!

I start stims on day 2 of my cycle so hoping it hurrys up, currently on day 42 😫

Cat191 · 29/01/2024 13:55

@waitingforourmiracle you should get them any day usually it's 14days after you ovulate it's a very long cycle hope you get them soon so you can start... I started fematab on Friday day 21 of cycle and my af wasn't due until Thursday and I'm after showing spotting and cramping today I don't know is it normal due to the tablets

Sherr33 · 29/01/2024 14:57

@waitingforourmiracle to help bring on period why don you try citrus fruits and have some lemon with warm water and add some cinnamon sticks just let it soak for a bit and drink and have oranges/grapefruit etc. Sex helps 🤣

Edited

I feel like I'm 90% orange and pineapple at the minute haha!! Lemon water is a good idea though!! My OH is honestly getting sick of me asking for help 😂

Whys everything to do with TTC so stressful, even getting a period is now annoying! 😖

How is everyone else feeling today x

Sherr33 · 29/01/2024 15:16

@waitingforourmiracle aww

I don't know what it is but my ibs has been very very bad constantly between having the runs to constipated. So bloated and gassy. And I hacent even started stims yet. Clean eating has definitely gone down the drain 😩 next week Friday I shall be taking my last lot of tablets and then between then and the 15th of Feb I should get my period 🙃

OP posts:
waitingforourmiracle · 29/01/2024 15:17

@Sherr33 sorry if I've missed this but are your tablets basically the pill to help you come start your period?

Sherr33 · 29/01/2024 16:19

@waitingforourmiracle it was to ensure I started my period on a specific date. For me its delayed it a few days from my natural start date

Why do you take norethisterone on IVF?
Prior norethisterone treatment appears to be an effective and useful means of controlling the timing of the oocyte recovery in IVF treatment - from Google haha

OP posts:
waitingforourmiracle · 29/01/2024 16:24

@Sherr33 I don't know if it's because I'm doing a mild IVF cycle they never offered me that! If there's still no sign at the end of this week I'll email my clinic to see if that's an option! I might be abit too far into my cycle now though x

Sherr33 · 29/01/2024 16:32

@waitingforourmiracle my periods are regular and come on time but they needed to make sure I didn't ovulate etc before I took stims and to ensure I started my period according to their time line thats why I think they prescribed me this.

OP posts:
waitingforourmiracle · 29/01/2024 16:37

@Sherr33 are you just doing a normal IVF cycle rather than mild? It's so confusing I always thought IVF was just IVF and everyone did the same thing! X

Sherr33 · 29/01/2024 16:49

@waitingforourmiracle its short protocol and itl be icsi im not sure what normal is haha

OP posts:
waitingforourmiracle · 29/01/2024 16:54

Normal was bad wording haha!! In my head before starting I presumed everyone did conventional long protocol IVF, I think short and mild are a similar protocol :)

LIVFingOnAPrayer19 · 29/01/2024 17:34

Hi all. Just catching up with all the updates.

@waitingforourmiracle apparently papaya is meant to be good for inducing a period.

Anyone know what's good for inducing ovulation??? Typical the cycle I want to be quick is not going to plan. Am currently CD20 and no sign of ovulation yet! My cycles usually range from 27-31 days. I have been on strong anti-inflammatory pain killers and I suspect that's interfered with this cycle. I just want AF to come so I can start... I hate waiting and not being able to control any of this!

waitingforourmiracle · 30/01/2024 11:04

@LIVFingOnAPrayer19 I feel your pain!! I'm feeling pretty fed up today 😢

TT82 · 30/01/2024 11:32

Hi ladies, could I join? 🙏

I am 41 (soon 42!), will be starting mid-February our 3d EC cycle. We are ttc number 3, have 2 naturally but now facing bad egg quality- 4 chemicals in last 2 years, 2 EC gave 6 embryos, all uneuploid 😔
My AMH was 17 last March, have good egg collected number, on the edge of overstimulation syndrome 😕 Dr said try one more time as there should be a good one...
Wishing all a good cycle! Xx

180monkeys · 30/01/2024 11:42

hi @TT82, I have just got my schedule through and sounds like I will be on a similar timeline to you. Starting northisterone on 9th Feb then break for bleed on 16th and injections starting after that.

this will be our first round of IVF/ICSI and trying for our first baby. I am possibly at risk of OHSS as my AFC was 30 at my last scan so a bit nervous about it but sounds like they will keep a close eye during scans.

I’m sorry to hear about your chemicals, wishing you luck on this cycle!

TT82 · 30/01/2024 11:49

Hi @180monkeys, oh hope they will monitor and all will be good!

The downregg pill which I need to start also at the beginning of February, is the worst part of the whole cycle!! (Well apart from nervous week after the EC). I am extremely mentally down and second type developed hives for 6 weeks, couldn't sleep even 😩 Just hope this time my body will behave.. Unfortunately downregg part is a must at my hospital

180monkeys · 30/01/2024 11:54

@TT82 that doesn’t sound good at all about the down reg, hopefully it won’t effect you as badly this cycle. Sounds like I’m lucky that down reg isn’t part of my plan, I’m starting on low dose stims 150 so hopefully that will be enough. Seems like it’s hard to predict how you will react to the doses until starting, everyone seems so different!

I’m NHS also so I’m not sure if they maybe do things a bit differently than private clinics. I’m really excited to get started but also starting to get a bit nervous now too
