IVF / ICSI January 2024

Hi, is anyone due to start IVF / ICSI in January? We're going to do a 3 cycle package. I was hoping to start in December but hadn't realised Christmas closing would be so early! My clinic won't start fresh cycles after 30 November - my af is due any day now.

Got my protocol consultation next week, we've been doing lots of tests and my baseline scan. My husband was very sick earlier the year and we've now got MFI (low motility) and borderline sperm dna fragmentation. I've had recurrent miscarriages, combination of natural and ivf pregnancies, low amh, fibroids, adenomyosis... I've got immune issues so will be on extensive meds when we get to transfer. Trying to bank some embryos as this is our last go 🙏

Trying to see the wait as a positive to give us time to get the supplements in our system and eat well.

@Ellenn I’ve had a weird stretching feeling on my right side do my abdomen the last 2 days, and my nipples hurt a lot, but that might just be the progesterone I’m taking. So lovely your boyfriend is stepping up and making sure you’re having a good time during the wait!

@Loute02 sorry to hear you’ll need to wait until April, but it’s good they’re so closely adapting your treatment. I hope it’s worth the wait :) I’m on the Danish public system which is wonderful, but they’re very happy to stick us all in a room, come in, and be like ‘Georgia? Yes let’s pull your eggs out now!’ in front of the crowd. No changing areas or curtains or anything like that either here haha.

How many of you are getting blood tests on day 11 v waiting til day 14 for a urine test? Mine is the former, but seems different compared to some people here?

39 here 👋🏻 Unfortunately our transfer didn’t take so onto the next one. We’re away next month so try again in March.

@Copenhagener I’m on a freeze all protocol. Today is day 3 so waiting for a call to let me know how many are progressing - I’m so nervous I feel sick. Reckon It will be late March before I can have the transfer. All the waiting is so difficult.
My clinic has stopped doing blood tests and now just send you home with a test to take which is really disappointing. Prices always rising and services reducing.

Been up since 6 with nerves, the wait for this day 3 call is killing me

All 6 embryos are still holding on!! 4 are top quality and 2 are average. I can’t believe it!

@Copenhagener I'm 34, also unexplained after 4 years of trying. This is our first IVF after trying clomid and Leterzole previously.
I had transfer on Saturday and very grateful that we were able to have 3 frozen from 6 eggs fertilised. Just a looong waiting game now, my clinics official test day is 9th Feb! Just got to do my own urine test at home, no clinic bloods.
@confuzzzzzled that's great news, hope you feel better now they have rung!

All 9 are still progressing and 8 of them are the highest quality 😭❤️

@Copenhagener so happy! Another long wait til Wednesday now.
Read that between day 3 and 5 is when there is most likely a drop in numbers - I need to have parental control on google cause why do I search these things 🙃.

@Copenhagener were unexplained also! Were struggling with second infertility DD was conceived in 1 night 5 years ago! After 2 years ttc we had further tests all seemed good apart from my amh I've been told I'll hit menopause middle to late 30s so ivf is our best option if we want a second child :)

Hope you don’t mind me joining. Looking for others going through this ivf rollercoaster.

I had egg collection last September, unbelievably got 7 eggs which we were so happy about… unfortunately first fresh transfer failed. Had an FET in December and that failed too - no hint of a line either time.

Last Tuesday I had my third go, natural FET with 3 x progesterone a day.

Today I’m 7dp5dt and I’ve got a line.

I’ve immediately gone from overjoyed (been 2.5 years and no lines ever), to really freaking out that it’s not strong enough.

@Faith2024 this clinic sounds good I'm really feeling over seas but I'm going to have a look at all options before I take a flight ✈️.
It's true it's all pure luck I even went to acupuncture et so yeh at this point I just want to know where I'm navigating too and I would like to do the same as in quality of egg instead of quantity as all of our embryos was poor quality as they wasn't looking good from day 5 but they made it to blast and discarded day 6

@73pheonix I think from what iv seen on forums it looks alright test again in 2days as long as its not trigger shot if you did take it! Looks good to me congratulations x

Not feeling very reassured by this mornings test. Yesterdays is obviously dried but I don’t think it looks any different to todays which is concerning. Also attached my boots test. Just feel like should be darker for 8dp5dt.

So tough.

@73pheonix could ypu ask your clinic if they will do bloods to check levels? It’s jmpossible to tell with urine tests. If they won’t do it you can get medichecks ones to complete yourself xx

@73pheonix sorry it wasn’t more reassuring 😞. Just remember that HCG rises every 48HRS, so it’s not unusual for them to not be distinctly different on consecutive days. Fingers crossed for you.

My clinic won’t do bloods 😔 & I think with the costs of 2 betas from medicheck, I might just have to wait it out at this stage.

All I’ve wanted for 2.5 years is a positive test 😂 It’s such a mind to finally see one and not feel happy 🥴

Transfer day for me 😃

Day 5 after 5-day embryo transfer and I have some light pink spotting. I’m on progesterone, so it shouldn’t be my period yet (normally, I don’t start bleeding until I stop progesterone, and later in my cycle).

I’m still worried it’s my period breaking through, as I have fatigue and cramping too.

My blood test isn’t until next Tuesday.

Has anyone else experienced this?

@73pheonix im sorry I really hope it works out for you, that’s so frustrating that your clinic won’t do bloods. Could you ask your nearest early pregnancy unit if they would? It’s awful looking at pregnancy tests I remember spiralling down that rabbit hole xx

@Copenhagener could it be implantation bleeding? I hope it settles down. I think we are transfer buddies! I feel really rotten atm as seem to have caught a cold/flu bug. The only good thing is impossible to symptom spot since I just feel rubbish!!
