FET/IVF/ICSI - October 2033

Anyone due to start cycle/have transfer in October jump on board!

Little history:

TTC our first. Trying for 4 years. Officially unexplained but I only have one ovary that responds/works. Fertilisation issues. Positive Sperm Oxidative Stress Test (likely DNA Frag). So it’s really a bit of a mix.

Dec 22/Jan 23 - First ICSI cycle. 8 eggs, 6 mature, 2 fertilised. One poor blast to transfer. Nothing to freeze. BFN.

July 23 - Second ICSI cycle. Using AOA & ZyMot chip. 8 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilised. One fresh to transfer and 2 to freeze. BFN.

Oct 23 - First FET scheduled.

Currently waiting for my period to start so that FET cycle can start. Should start beginning of Oct, so FET likely towards end of the month.

Thankyou @Melisss 🙂. You're right about being one step closer, I need to reframe it a bit and forget about what other people are doing and how some people can get pregnant so easily.

Have you just had your egg collection stage? My period was delayed by 5 days after that too. I hate the pms emotions. I think mine has started too (period still not due for another 7 days). Exciting to get going with the next stage for you!

@Elkly88 that's the right mindset 😀

I am on the long protocol so have not started stims yet. Hopefully on Friday they say I can move to the next stage. Still a long way until egg collection (if i get to that stage).

Was this your first time doing IVF? It is the first time for me so everything is new and have no clue what i am doing 😅

Hi everyone, great to hear about your journeys, wishing you all the best! I’m just starting trying for a sibling after finally having my first living baby after many years of treatments. Is there anywhere online I can get the drugs at a discounted price nowadays? It’s £20 per drug prescription from my clinic so I need to make it worth that charge and ideally save a bit to. TIA!

@IVFKinster the progesterone does that too my head too ! Hope your feeling more like yourself now. I also get dizzy spells which I completely forgot until yesterday, funny how you block it out afterwards.😆

Hi - I have had a 3 day frozen transfer 10th October. Previously failed 5dt in Jan. I'm currently nearing the end of 2ww. It's an emotional rollercoster. Caved in and did some clear blue tests over last few days that come up faint right light angle squinted that get darker after a short while. Dnt knw what to think. Been so emotional today so searched for a group that maybe going through same thing at the moment and came across this post. Prayers for all you ladies!

From my experience, your next stage- stims for egg collection, I didn't think was too bad at all. I think I was expecting worse.

I both do and don't want to get the embryo transfer stage underway now, I'm kind of scared. But, I think tomorrow I'm going to start booking in some nice stuff like a massage, spa visit, haircut etc to have some good stuff to focus on! It's really nice to hear about some lovely positive things others are doing on here(including sushi 🙂). Brought me a tiny bit out of the negativity I've had this weekend!

@Lauralozzle have they had any sort of discussion with you about what could possibly cause a small unresponsive ovary?
I keep tormenting myself with Dr Google and diagnosing myself with all sorts 😆
I didn't see my usual consultant today and I saw a colleague but she literally got up and bolted out the door before I even had a chance to ask any questions
It's odd how it's suddenly shrunk within the past 3 months

@KI19 I had medium rare steak on Friday too! 😂 I'm having smoked salmon for lunch tomorrow. It feels like a way to book in the potential pregnancy. What a busy transfer week we have ahead on the thread!

@MoonlightDreamer sorry you've not had the results you were hoping for. This process is so sucky. Why can't bodies just do what they're meant to? You've still got a good chance with one good ovary, don't give up hope!

@Tillyturtle it's good that there's a line but it looks a bit dodgy...which I guess is why you don't know what to think? When is OTD? Can you get a different brand of test to try?

@Elkly88 oh that sounds lovely, I like your plan 😀I also got a haircut and my nails done before starting everything. I think it just puts you in a good mood for what is to come.

My protocol is going well so far I would say. Also happy to hear that stims went well for you, that give me a positive vibe. I am a bit scared of OHSS not going to lie.

@MoonlightDreamer I can feel how stressed you are 😔It is hard not to fall in the google trap but try and keep positive that the doctors are making the right decisions for you. Can you maybe contact the clinic and tell them you have questions, maybe they can offer some reasurance?

@Tillyturtle maybe try another type of tests? There are the ones that say if you pregnant or not. I never got even a faint line on anything so I understand why you are confused by this one.

All you ladies mentioning steaks and wine...meanwhile i feel like a pufferfish 😅

@Tillyturtle wow that certainly looks promising. Can you get a First Response? Serial early tester here and would 100% trust FR over Clearblue after many years of using them all.

@MoonlightDreamer They’re not sure. Always ask if I’ve had surgery or had a cyst. Not had surgery around there and not aware of having a cyst. I get all my ‘cramps’ from that side too, which is odd, because literally nothing happens there!

@MoonlightDreamer I’m probably too late replying to be helpful, but on the day of my trigger shots I did still do stims but 3 hours earlier than the usual time. Can totally understand your frustration, especially when you started off with more follicles. Hope you’re feeling ok x

@Tillyturtle I hate to say this but I don’t trust those CB tests at all, I’ve had too many evap lines with them. But I have everything crossed that it’s a BFP for you. Agree with @StillTrying10000, maybe try a FR.

@Melisss oo lovely I may add nails to the list. Yeah I get the OHSS fear. My clinic seem quite good at looking out for that, I'm sure yours will be too!

Just heard from the clinic, we’re doing a day 3 transfer this afternoon. Only one embryo progressed normally so we have nothing to freeze which is disappointing. Fingers and toes crossed for this embryo🤞

I’m waiting for the dreaded call. Will it have survived the thaw? Argh. I don’t even know what time to expect a call! I’m trying to work this morning but honestly, I’m bricking it and can’t really concentrate.

@Lauralozzle I got my update yesterday morning - have 3 embryos going strong, so the clinic is holding out for a day 5 transfer. Booked in for tomorrow lunchtime - no idea how I'm going to get ANY work done this week (which isn't ideal as I have a huge presentation on Friday!). Hope yours goes well today!

Positive vibes to everyone with big weeks - think there's quite a few of us in for transfers (I've lost track so won't try tag everyone!!) but... 💪💓I for one am taking my transfer afternoon off and going to indulge in some serious TLC

I’ve literally just told our interim manager (who doesn’t know about IVF) that I will be taking flexi this afternoon. My manager who knows is on holiday at the moment so I’m trying to be cryptic! I have no intention of working this afternoon!

Has anyone else had any pink spotting on the progesterone pessaries? I had the same on my last round of FET on day 3 of taking them but it always makes me so stressed....😭

@KI19 I haven’t but I’ve been using back passage. I know they can irritate the cervix though if used vaginally.

I’m still waiting for a call. Hopefully I get one soon. Don’t want a ‘it hasn’t survived the thaw’ call on the way to the clinic. I still have a backup, so not all is lost but… argh. This is exactly like waiting for the day 5 call, but it being hours later than usual!

Clinic just phoned to say trigger tonight at 9pm

I'm doing a dual (I think???) of gonasi and busrelin. Does anyone know what the dual trigger is?
