I'm so sorry @kirstysmbc hope you're doing OK I have my fingers crossed that your previous embryos gave you your daughter they can do it again for you 💜

@Hopingforno2in2023 @Lowo21 I'm terrible for looking at baby bits I use my preg SIL as my excuse but that's not why lol. Today I actually had a lil look and my partner suggested I don't so as not to upset myself but that upset me hahaha and to think my hormones are meant to be 'normal' rn

We had a heart to heart about doing another EC because the cost is actually not much different to a frozen transfer and I'd like to have more 'backups' (sounds awful but I think you guys will be able to understand)

He thinks that's crazy to put myself through that and risk ohss again and we should just do it if necessary in future but I'd find it harder running out of options if that makes sense

I dunno I'm feeling very emotional ahead of this cycle similar to how I felt before my EC cycle just seriously unprepared for the what ifs

@kirstysmbc I’m so sorry IVF can be so cruel how are you feeling ?

the cost of IVF is prohibitive and I think we can all go down the rabbit hole of putting ourselves into so much debt that having to have a cut off point is a necessity.

will you be able to have you transfer soon for your last embryo ? Hoping your ok

@kirstysmbc so sorry to hear what you are going through. Fingers crossed for the last little embryo. Its such a hard decision to make.
We are in a similar position, as we have our DS from our first round, which we are incredibly grateful for. We have 2 embryos left after the last failed FET. But they are lower quality, so we're not sure how it will go.
We can't financially justify another full round. So we will be out if either of these two don't stick. It's like the control has been taken away.
Fingers crossed for you. Just trying to process it all is a journey in itself.

@kirstysmbc im so sorry about your latest cycle. Plus side is that you still get to drink G&Ts for the time being. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for your last embryo 🤞

@Lolly2507 do you mind me asking how many frozen embryos you currently have and their grades to why you’re considering another EC?

@kirstysmbc I can only repeat what everyone else has said - I'm really sorry and it's terribly unfair this whole IVF game we keep putting ourselves through! You have a really strong embaby in the bank and I don't doubt that it won't give it it's best shot of a sibling and 2nd child. Have you caught up with the clinic today?

@Lolly2507 Same as Doughnut said - how many embryo's have you got? And have you transferred any yet?

I'm all good - just upped my dose to the double dose 8mg Oestrogen, with next upping on Friday to 12mg, and my scan. Terrified for my scan that it's going to not have responded as my uterus just has a mind and game plan of it's own!

Where do you all buy FRERs?

I cant seem to find FRER on Amazon, Boots, etc.

Thanks everyone for your very kind comments, it is so nice to have a group of people to talk to who really understand how hard this journey can be. I am waiting to hear from the clinic and will call tomorrow if I don't hear today.

@CDiamond They have been quite difficult to find this year. I saw some in a local independent pharmacy recently, so might be worth checking if there are any pharmacies near you.

My understanding @CDiamond is they have been withdrawn from some places due to too many false positives.

@Hopingforno2in2023 oh really? That's interesting yet worrying as I know so many in the IVF community, as well as wider TTC community, use them.

@Hopingforno2in2023 that's really interesting about the tests I wonder if there will be any improvements, like @GCS34 said there are lots of people who use them !

I’ll be honest I feel a bit guilty talking about it on here because I know not everyone’s been as lucky as me yet. But I had my scan today and I burst into tears when they told me they could see the heartbeat. It felt like such a relief

@Doughnut89 That's wonderful news! So pleased for you.

And please don't ever feel guilty for sharing your journey. The positive stories always give me hope, which can sometimes be difficult to find

@GCS34 thank you 😊 quite nervous now and excited and then dreading it because I'm expecting failure in two weeks!

@Doughnut89 not at all it sends out hope ! If we all just talked about failures it would be a depressing thread rather than one filled with advice, guidance and success !

@Lowo21 hey. I’m doing alright thanks, generally have a few symptoms in the morning and then they disappear. I’m hoping this is normal - feels like it will be a long wait till my 7 week scan. It’s next Friday. How are you doing? When is your transfer? One thing I did differently this time (which is probably a ton of rubbish), I listened to comedy on the journey home. There was a study which showed that people who were entertained by a clown after their transfer had better implantation outcomes - https://healthland.time.com/2011/01/31/youre-kidding-medical-clown-increases-pregnancy-rates-with-ivf/

@GCS34 I have 5 in the freezer, I think I was just having a moment of panic as transfer comes closer. Defo not rational thinking.

Thank you, I know it feels like Christmas haha ! I have been waiting for this day for so long and I am just grateful to give it a go. Really trying not to look beyond tomorrow !
