@kirstysmbc I’m on day 7 today. Meriofert (i think a low dose but it’s my first cycle so I could be wrong but I’m only on 150) GonalF 300, and added ganirelix last night.
Started prednisolone this morning too - I have an underlying auto immune condition and annoyingly had to stop one of my meds for it so we decided to throw some pred at it too!

I’m about to turn 39 - don’t worry you have a few years on me!

How are you feeling? I can’t figure out if I’m knackered from stims or just work 😂 a little twinging in my pelvis.
First scan tomorrow - here’s hoping for some follicles/growth/response! We will be happy if we get one egg at this point x

kirstysmbc · 22/08/2023 12:39

@GCS34 I know, it's so frustrating how much money we spend on this whole process, all of which is money we don't have to spend on kids if it's successful...

@TT82 I am still not 100% sold on it, so will def make a call nearer the time depending on numbers. I don't seem to have issues with implantation, and after two miscarriage, I'm reluctant to transfer without testing, especially at my age. I think I'd have done the same as you with that many embryos...

kirstysmbc · 22/08/2023 12:42

@MrsMotts I'm on 450 ovaleap, so the total units of stims is the same as you. I was told this is the max they can do, even given my age (43).

I'm feeling ok, always very tired by the end of the day, but not sure if that's the meds or just being a solo mum to an increasingly active toddler...! Also having a few twinges, but nothing significant. Not expecting huge numbers of follicles tomorrow given my amh and afc, but fingers crossed there's something going on!!

TTCMama17 · 22/08/2023 13:28

@GCS34 no! I don’t ever had natural bleeds. Just have to take medication to bleed every so often.

Eeeek a week today and I’ll officially be PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise.) this really is our last chance so I am manifesting everything positive. X

KG1244 · 22/08/2023 13:37

@TTCMama17 ahh we will cross over a bit. I have my transfer Thursday afternoon. 😬😬😬
feels very real suddenly!

Hi all, looking for some advice/reassurance

managed to hurt my back yesterday and panicking slightly as I have my embryo transfer on Thursday. Do you think this could affect the outcome? My thinking was that my body could be more focused on repairing my back muscles than implanting an embryo. Or am I being ridiculous? I never hurt my back what are the bloody chances?!

@KG1244 How is your back? Back pain is never nice! Have a nice bath or something and try sooth it.
I wouldn't think that it'd impact your embaby implanting - Take a bunch of pain killers before your TF and it should be okay 😊
How are you feeling for Thursday? #2daysToGo!

@TTCMama17 Awww well I am manifesting for you as well and we hope you'll be our next BFP in the next TF batch (along with @KG1244). Anyone else transferring in the next week?

@kirstysmbc that's exactly it. I could rant until the cows come home about funding and how we shouldn't be limited, and it shouldn't limit people who already have a child, or a child from a previous relationship etc. Maybe one day in the future, fertility treatment will be fully funded, but I can't see that happening any time soon!
Are you going to do the testing with the embryo's from this next batch, or is that another financial burden you could do without?

KG1244 · 22/08/2023 16:35

@GCS34 thank you lovely, it is a bit easier. Definitely jumping in the bath after work! I honestly can’t believe it. I’m trying to keep positive and upbeat but it’s really hard when this is a lesser quality blast.

@KG1244 Glad it is easing up! And a bath sounds lovely! Although it's 23 degrees here, so I think I'd die if you told me to go in a bath! 😅Definitely hard I get that. Especially as you have so much weighted on it. But there's no reason why it won't work - it's a viable embryo else they wouldn't transfer it in 🤗

KG1244 · 22/08/2023 17:07

@GCS34 thank you, I will try to remind myself that. It just feels unlikely with an untested 4BC but I guess you never know… when are you off on your holiday?

Hi all... Hope you are keeping well... I'm pretty rubbish coming on here regularly...

So had my egg collection today, great result (I think) 9 eggs collected compared to the 4 last time...but I'm feeling it a lot more than last time also, the dull pain within with bleed. Think I'm gonna have and early night.

Fingers crossed for the call in the morning about how many they managed to fertilize 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

kirstysmbc · 22/08/2023 20:40

@GCS34 I'm still not 100% decided on testing but will see if it's even something to consider once I know how many embryos (if any) I get from this cycle. I've transferred five from my last cycle, three pregnancies, but two resulted in miscarriage. If I tested I could have saved over £5k in transfers and meds, so could be cheaper in the long run

@KG1244 did you say you were early 30’s too? A 4BC is a great grade!!
I go Monday.

@kirstysmbc yeah it’s a hard one. One hand it’ll cost £500ish per embryo, but then it could save a bunch of money and heartache for the future. How old were you when your daughter was put in? And was she pre or post MCs?

KG1244 · 22/08/2023 22:08

@GCS34 meant to say, I’m in the 34 club 😂 ahh yay! You’re going to have a fab time. IVF definitely makes you gagging for a holiday. If this round doesn’t work, I am packing my bags!

OP posts:
TTCMama17 · 22/08/2023 22:37

@GCS34 - I’m at Oxford clinic incase I didn’t answer your earlier question!

@KG1244 - ahhh lucky we have a 2ww friend! I’ll be testing every day after transfer because I have 0 patience so I’ll keep you updated xx

kirstysmbc · 22/08/2023 22:50

@GCS34 I was 40 when I did my last cycle and had my daughter. My first and third transfers led to miscarriage, she came from my second. I do still have one embryo left from that cycle, but my consultant doesn't recommend thawing, testing and refreezing, but is there as a last chance. Fingers crossed there's something to transfer this time round.

Any news yet on when you can start this next cycle?

KG1244 · 23/08/2023 08:01

@TTCMama17 woop! I’m the opposite and wait until OTD 😂

OP posts:
kirstysmbc · 23/08/2023 13:05

Had my first tracking scan today and feeling quite disappointed. I know my amh and afc have halved since my last cycle two years ago (9 eggs collected), but they said today I would prob get 2 eggs, unless a few of the really small ones catch up. Very real possibility I won't even get anything to blastocyst... 😞

TTCMama17 · 23/08/2023 14:29

@KG1244 - I really want to hold out until OTD but being honest with myself I probably won't. I purposely have thrown out all of my pregnancy tests and won't buy anymore until I literally cannot hold out and have to test. I've asked for my husband to make sure I don't buy any either. When is test date for you?

@kirstysmbc - I'm sorry about your tracking scan. I know how disappointing it can be. But you need to remember that all it takes is one strong egg. I'm thinking of you and always hear if you need someone to rant to. X

scaredynoob · 23/08/2023 14:39

Hi all / I'm officially out. Today was OTD with BFN

I'm told to stop estrogen and progesterone suppository. Can someone help me understand how long will it take for my period?

We dont have any frosties left but still have 2 cycles on NHS. We decided to go in for a debrief only in Sep end.

Today is kind of a tough day. Although I had given up when I got the BFN 9dp3dt on FRER, I had some small hope which crashed today.

@KG1244 Excellent - all the cool people are 😉It totally does - especially as you can't plan ANYTHING during treatment, and yeah it's a nice welcome break while they do their admin that's for sure!
Is this your second round did you say? How are you feeling for tomorrow? Also, what makes you think the 4BC is a dudd one? It's a really good grade still!

@scaredynoob I'm really sorry 😥Really hope you're looking after yourself. Is your OH around?

I had my period about 2 days after the pregnancy test when we did IUI, so I wold assume any day now. That's great that you've got 2 more chances left - that's something at least! And It's good it's not too long to wait. Is that your choice or theirs?
I know the hope, and that is what keeps us going each month, and keeps us getting up and going again. If we didn't have hope, then we'd not be here. BUT it doesn't mean that theirs no hope for the future. 2 more cycles has the potential for a lot. hope you're okay

KG1244 · 23/08/2023 15:07

@GCS34 yes, second attempt. Feeling a bit calmer than last time. Well Dr Google says poor which doesn’t soothe me! But hey I guess you never know. Kinda ready to be PUPO now and hoping for the best.

@scaredynoob so sorry to hear, I know it’s so hard. Take good care of yourself xx

@TTCMama17 i know lots of people do test early, I think for me, I would rather just wait and try my best not to go insane and then just know when I test that that’s it. OTD will be 4th September I think.

@kirstysmbc echo what @TTCMama17 has said. It’s quality not quantity so don’t lose hope!
