I’m due to start my second round of FET in August so thought I would set up this group for some treatment buddies ❤️

Hi all!!! I've not long started my 2nd round of IVF... Unfortunately for us this will be the last round we can do... So really hoping it will take this time... Due have egg collection on 21st all being well... Fingers crossed for all!

@Lowo21 ohhhh interesting. Did they say why you had to have another bleed after withdrawal? Is your pcos well behaved - how long between each period usually? I really hope it’s not TFP policy 🫣🙈 I am waiting for them to call me back to book a planning appointment with my consultant.

omg I’m exactly the same!!! I’m convinced my 5 are all duff and I’ve even googled what causes you to not get pregnant from ivf 😩🙈 maybe it’s our way of creating a bit of self preservation?

so sorry to hear of your MC. Did you ever look into why, or is it unknown? Really hoping this is your time. Did you have the one embryo from round 1?

@GCS34 Slightly different for me as my second round of treatment (fet last time, fresh cycle this time) has been after miscarriage, but I have been encouraged to wait a cycle after my bleed. I pushed back both times and said I wanted to go ahead and they have let me. So if they do suggest waiting, def push back and make sure there's a valid reason why they won't let you continue...

@Hopingforno2in2023 mine was exactly 7 days. I came on yesterday and EC was last Wednesday x

Thanks @kirstysmbc thsys really helpful and I will push back. Thank you! I thought whatever they said goes, so nice to know theirs wiggle room. Wonder why they don’t like to do it the month after, but are willing to do it anyway with some asking.

@GCS34 not sure if it helps but for my medicated FET, I had my bleed about 5 days after egg retrieval, planning call 2 weeks later and started norethisterone about a week and a half after that. All in all it was about 7.5 weeks from retrieval to the transfer.

We didn’t look into why the mc happened, it was the first time I’d ever successfully gotten a bfp and all they really said was it was likely just bad luck. Fingers crossed we’re not in that situation again but if it did happen I think we’ll look into testing the remaining embryos before transfer.

I’ve been incredibly lucky, and had a very high number of eggs collected and even luckier in that we have a large number that made it to blast and are frozen. So hopefully I shouldn’t need to go through stims and collection again

@Steph186 thanks for the timeline. That does help thank you! Hoping that I can get the ball rolling sooner rather and later. Will chase tomorrow. I’m defo not one to wait around - I’m that annoying patient that incessantly rings 😅🙈

I get that. I think my OH and I would be the same. If the first 2 don’t work, we’d get the remaining 3 tested. How many have you got in the bank? Have you got a date yet?

Is anyone/has anyone done accupuncture during 2ww? Would you recommend

@GCS34 I’m exactly the same, I’m so impatient, I just want to get going with the next step as soon as one is done! Through the whole process I’ve been trying (and usually failing 😂) to not get too hung up on timelines, but it’s so difficult feeling like you’re not in control!

I think my time to transfer could have been slightly faster, I had to stay on the meds for a few extra days because my lining was close but not quite there on the first scan.

No date yet, it took me about 3.5 weeks to finally test negative after mc, finally got it yesterday (was weird chasing a bfn for a change!), so I need to call them to get the next steps booked in. We’re trying to decide whether to fit in a last minute holiday first though, we really need to make a decision soon 😂

We’ve got 22 left in the freezer, which sounds great, but doesn’t mean anything if they all turn out like the first one!

@Steph186 sorry to hear about your loss, its heartbreaking :( but sounds like you have an amazing number in the freezer 🤞 I would vote a holiday defo, I could do with one right now 😆

@DauntedAF I haven't had acupuncture sorry, mainly just because of the extra cost but I have heard lots of good things about it during the 2 week wait, I think if it helps you relax then go for it.

Could anyone help, I'm 4 days past egg collection and I have started bleeding already, it's very early for my period to arrive and I'm always clockwork, but I am now on injections because it was a freeze all, does anyone know if Fyremadel and Clexane bring on your period? All the nurse said is that it will shut down my ovaries so I don't get ohss.
Think I might double check with them today when they open that it's normal.

@LavenderJoy I’m leaning heavily towards holiday, I think I could do with a short break before going back on the meds!

I got slightly mixed info after collection, the nurse told me to expect a bleed 7-11 days after collection, the consultant told me it would be 4-6 days and mine arrived on day 5, so based on that I think it’s completely normal!

@DauntedAF I've not done acupuncture in my 2ww but have done it on transfer day on all three of my transfers and implantation all three times. I think if it helps you to relax, it's worth it just for that!

@Steph186 hahs exactly!! I want the transfer like yesterday. I’m going g to ring them this morning anyway. k hope it’s not TFP policy or something. Do you have regular periods with your pcos or not?

Wow 22 that’s mental. That embryos I assume? Here’s a question actually for both you and @Lowo21. The clinic told me they don’t use the number, letter, letter grading system and they use just overal grade A - C. Do you know much about it as I tried to ask on Tuesday but the embryologist just confused me more!!

m really hope it’s not long for you. Now you’re negative, how long til you get going and have you had your planning apt for transfer?,

Hi all, quick update from me. Today was told EC on Monday. Max I can have 9, if some catch up these days. Blood results all good, next cycle she will increase the dose as she expected me to react more...
Also they will do mild ivf, not to biopsy the egg twice- during sperm injection and PGTA testing, said sperm is very good, so no need.
I am fine with lower number as long as better quality, but who knows 🙏

Also @Steph186 weer looking at a holiday once we have the meds and I’ve started taking them as they don’t scan me I don’t believe until 2 weeks of being on them if that’s right?

@GCS34 I had this re grading but one of the embryologists I spoke to did actually give me the more 'standard' grading when I pushed. I know they did roughly correlate, and they were able to explain the rationale behind their grading. Maybe try calling back and speaking to a different member of the team? There's one that I try to avoid at my clinic as she is really unhelpful, but another lady who is lovely.

@Steph186 thank you, I'm glad it's normal then lol mine must have just came a little quicker, maybe it was my first day back to exercising yesterday gave it a push lol

@GCS34 no updates yet, I find out my day 5 updates tomorrow morning eek...I'm glad tbh so I don't have to sit anxiously waiting for a call this morning haha

I know at my clinic they say it should they like either a 4/5 in number aa and bb they consider excellent quality and bc/cb etc they still consider them good quality blastocysts.

A 5 grade for example would be already hatching which is an excellent sign that it's breaking out the shell ready to implant, thats what the doctors said to me, i do believe numbers and grades really dont mean anything they are subjective and if gets to a blastocyst it has a good chance of becoming a baby :)

@GCS34 I would definitely call and chase timelines, I don’t think it was policy. They maybe delayed me slightly to give me time to recover from collection (although surprisingly I was completely fine!)

My periods are completely unpredictable and all over the place, could be 28 days, more likely to be 40-90 days for a cycle 😩

We had 23 embryos frozen in total which is absolutely mad.

Their grading confused me too, we were told the same, just that they grade A-C and any lower grades weren’t suitable for freezing.

I want to get going asap, apparently success rate is slightly higher in the months following mc, so I may as well take advantage of the one slight benefit that comes with going through that! I’ve not had the appointment yet, will message them today to get going.

I hadn’t actually thought of starting meds if we go away, not sure whether to hold off though so I can enjoy a couple of cocktails before the fun starts again!

@LavenderJoy i think mine was 4 days after EC so don’t worry about it. What was an absolute pain was that it was then another 55 days till my next period. The hormones completely messed me up! I think I was very unlucky. This month for FET no. 2 I started right on time.

@kirstysmbc I saw someone post this on another chat and always assumed that TFPs A-C grading followed the excellent-average below, I’m sure one of our embryologists confirmed that. Is that what they told you?

@Steph186 hope you don’t mind me jumping in…. I’m never sure what to think tbh. One minute I think there is less chance, the next I’m not so sure. Very interesting what Robert Winston has to say (basically the king of IVF)
