@GCS34 ooo glad to hear Ovitrelle is much easier and an epi style. Think by the time I get to trigger I will be glad for no more injections.

I feel like you are handling the drop off really well, I know I will be devastated by each one lost even though hopeful to get some good grade ones. I estimate 22!!!

Honestly dont know how you are managing to walk and be comfy with the 50ish, yes defo bone ache! Do you know how long you will have to wait to do a fresh transfer ?

That's good that you WFH and manage your own schedules, earlier to cover. Have you booked time off to recover after EC? I give benefit and welfare advice so nothing competitive but yea it must be hard in such make dominated environments. Have you seen the insta account "pregnantthenscrewed" that's really interesting about work rights for mother's/parents.

@ttcsolomumtobe Haha yeah I did it a few months back and it was really easy. But the Bureselin last night, wasn't as fun. I swear the needle was unnecessarily large! No one needs injecting that deep! (sorry to anyone who is also on the Bureselin trigger and i've traumatised)

I think I've got to - 50 is a lot yeah, but they also might all be spread a little too thinly. I've heard both people with great success (19 embryos from 48) and little success (1 embryo from 44). I'll happily take 22 though!! 😆

We're not having a fresh transfer - we're having a FET due to the OHSS Risks for me, and the bureselin trigger breaks down your lining, so we can't do a fresh.
They said yesterday that in about a weeks time, I'll have a bleed, then we can start building back up the lining using estrogen and progesterone ready for transfer a few weeks after. She said that as soon as we're ready and we've had a bleed we're set to go I said well I can tell you the answer to that now and it is 'right away'. but apparently they'll chat to me next week about it haha. 😅

I'm on AL tomorrow, but the rest of the week no, I haven't. but should I need to, I think that will be the time I speak to my boss. Hopefully I won't need it though! Have you? Oh no I haven't. I will follow now though - thanks!!! x

ttcsolomumtobe · 01/08/2023 17:19

@GCS34 wow the difference is madness isnt it, Fertility really is just so unpredictable.

Sorry I meant FET, absolutely knew you couldn't do a fresh with everything going on.

Glad you have AL tomorrow and hopefully if you do return for the rest of the week you can flex your time a bit more. I haven't booked time off as will take sick if needed, as my company knows what's going on.
Whether it be Fri or Mon for EC I will be taking some time off work. Just hope tomorrow's scan either shows a good few over the line and others just under, giving more time to develop for Friday or most of them under so they hold me off till Monday. Also wouldn't mind the weekend to chill before EC but whatever they say I'm just guna take it in my stride and work with it

LavenderJoy · 01/08/2023 17:35

I'm booked in for my second treatment scan tomorrow day 8 and really hoping for some better news, because of my blocked tubes it was blocking the view if my ovaries so they could only measure 4 on the right and she thinks she could see 4 on the left but couldn't measure them, I'm praying that as they getting bigger they become more visible 🙏 on my last cycle I had mild ivf and a low dose with 4 follicles, all mature and all made it to day 5, so good embryos but just didn't want to stick, I was hoping for more to have a better chance but now I'm feeling deflated :( my lining was good so that's my one good thing not to worry about lol!

I just need to remember it only takes one, and I think we all need to try and remember that as it's so hard when we analyse numbers.

@ttcsolomumtobe Don't be daft you're fine - I can hardly keep up with what's going on with me, so I don't expect you to 😂I'm half expecting tomorrow to go in and them be like ermmmmmm okay all change again... 😅Not sure they can now I've done the trigger but I still think they'll throw another spanner in knowing our luck!

That's good you're able to take sick if needs be. I think for me, if OHSS rears it's ugly head, I'll speak to my boss, but until then I just feel more comfortable not speaking to her just yet. Have they said what day they think is more likely? And Are you hoping that all 18 will be at the 'ideal' stage, or you happy for 12 or so being there? Perhaps ask them tomorrow what they estimate to be 'mature' eggs out your crop, so you can manage your expectations a little? Might help?

ttcsolomumtobe · 01/08/2023 17:52

Honestly feel like my concerntration and mixing things up is starting to get affected a bit now. What CD will you be tomorrow?
And yea now triggers done it's got to all go ahead, I feel like you are taking it all in your stride really well.

No, they didn't say, just that the Wednesday scan will decide it. If it's Monday they will do another scan Friday so I will just ask the scan before the trigger how many they are hoping for. my nurse is really good and explained not all of them will be mature or yield an egg.

I'm trying not to have a number in my head tbf, because with my clinic once a few are at ideal that's when they will trigger... So that's why I'm hoping that the others are either just behind, giving chance to pick up by EC or all are just under and the extra few days will get more of the over the line. I know not all follicles will pick up to that level

Ellenn · 01/08/2023 18:37

@GCS34 and @ttcsolomumtobe thanks for the luck I will gratefully accept any given to try and make this embryo stick 🙈🥰

had my transfer this morning and it all went smoothly and officially in situ. Even gave me a wee scan print out which I’ve never got before, might be the only one of it - we will see! Now the long wait until we know if it’s worked or not, if anyone has any suggestions for distractions and/or things to make time go faster I’m all ears!

hope your egg collections go well tomorrow guys @GCS34 @Helene2019 @IVF23 sorry if I’ve missed anyone this thread moves fast! Enjoy the best nap ever as the sedation is lovely!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 01/08/2023 19:37

Here she is! @Ellenn 🙌😀 that’s lush they gave you a scan print out. And the first of many I am sure 🥰

distractions … ermmmm. Shopping. More shopping. Eating all the chocolate and drinking all the caffeine while you can and in your break. Cleaning. More shopping and go and see the barbie movie. 😏

thanks!! Will report back from the other Side! Watch this space…

@ttcsolomumtobe not sure if hat you mean sorry? I’be triggered now so not sure CD is relevant now? But I guess it would be 16 today as I had my last jab on cd14 (Sunday). That what you mean? How many did you have at yesterdays scan? And you know what your plan is from tomorrow?
yeah that’s what I keep reminding myself. That probably 29 of my 50 will be empty or crap.
That’s a good mentality 🥰 what clinic you at?

ttcsolomumtobe · 02/08/2023 06:06

@GCS34 I was asking CD for my own curiosity as to how many days they let you go to, I know it's not too important as an overall as everything is managed with drugs. I hope all goes well today!
No scan yesterday, just every other day so will know more this morning. When I did my bemfola last night a few droplets leaked out, so annoyed as feel like it's been going smoothly but called the emergency line and they said it will be fine and see what the scan shows. Looking online it seems a common problem with that style pen.

I'm at ABC, found them really good so far, their approach is mild and anything to reduce OHSS so think that's why slightly less eggs expected.

@Ellenn yay that your embryo is on board and you got a pic, that's so cute! This is not my idea, read it on another forum but did think it was the sweetest thing and considering doing it - someone had said they visited their favourite places knowing they had the embryo inside, hoping it would encourage them to stay snug! I 100% get there's no science to that 😂 yet feel it's a good way to make the 2ww enjoyable for you too! And lovely to think you could tell a future baby all the places it visited while developing away inside you 🩷 Barbie movie is defo guna be one of my things too, wanted to do it yesterday but just can't hold pee for 2 hours at the moment ha

Can I ask how many days after transfer have you been advised to test? I was told 16 which seems alot!

ttcsolomumtobe · 02/08/2023 06:14

@IVF23 hope your egg collection goes well today and those follicles and plumped up to some lovely mature eggs for you!

Ellenn · 02/08/2023 06:22

@GCS34 thanks love your suggestions although definitely dangerous with shopping 🙈 is the barbie movie any good? I’m actually on call working this weekend too so hopefully that will make time go a bit faster - we will see! Sounds like you are going to set a new record at your clinic with eggs and I’m just there will be plenty of mature there 🤞will you have long to wait?

@@ttcsolomumtobe what a lovely idea! Definitely will try think of a few things. They have said to test on 15/08 so in 14 days. I think because I have had a couple ovitrelle as it’s a natural transfer which helps boost your lining it may give false positive any earlier? 16 days is a long time, it may be because the clinic don’t want you to pick up bio chemicals? I know when I had a biochemical they put it through as negative test (which I thought was sneaky as it obvs will make their numbers look better!) when I had quite an obvious positive test. Have you asked why waiting so long? I’m a bit worried if this transfer doesn’t work that my period will come way before test date as due on 10/11th august

ttcsolomumtobe · 02/08/2023 06:36

@Ellenn it's good that you have some work going on as it will distract you and help the days go by.

Do you think you will wait till OTD? Yea someone else thought it may be to do with biochemicals, and that is sneaky of them. I haven't ask but will check with them, I think I will likely test 24 hours after the recommended wait days of my trigger, going from the trigger time to be sure it's out my system. I have the week off work when it would fall so gives me time then to deal with the outcome.

are you taking progesterone? On other forums people have said it will stop your period arriving, as that was my worry too that my period would arrive before OTD. For others progesterone seems to cause a small amount of bleeding...just so hard to know isn't it.

Ellenn · 02/08/2023 06:45

@ttcsolomumtobe i think I’m going to try (my partner laughed and didn’t believe me when I said this 🤣) I just don’t want to see it if it’s a biochemical. I might take the medichecks beta test though a couple days before so I get results on the OTD and know if my level looks ok or not.

I think once you start testing you end up getting a bit consumed and obsessed with it all (or I do) so I’d rather not this time. Just going to try and be oblivious and try forget I’ve had a transfer!

I’m not on progesterone but they have said will give me lubion if I get a positive test due to the results of last transfers. So think I would actually bleed if it doesn’t work so suppose I will know before OTD if it’s a negative.

have you been told when they think your egg collection might be? Seen a previous message and looks like you have great numbers and it’s going to be a bumper crop!

ttcsolomumtobe · 02/08/2023 07:00

@Ellenn I may have my plan right now of when I will test but I'm sure that will go out of the window 😂 like you I think I'd rather just be oblivious, 2weeks is long enough without the added pressure of holding your pee for hours to check lines just a week in.
After seeing on another page someone's absolute fretting and panic over line progression etc it did make me consider just paying for the betas at the start of my week off.
I'm sorry to hear of your biochemical, was that your first IVF round? (sorry I struggle to keep up with everyone's Fertility journey so far). May I ask how many follicles you had, eggs you got and how many embryos you ended up with from your IVF cycle?
Re the biochemical when someone explained the late testing of the clinic it made me want to test early to check for a biochemical but I genuinely feel I'd rather not have the additional heartache as it can't be changed. I know that sounds blaise and I don't mean it to be I think we have to protect ourselves where possible during this time.

ahh thank you for explaining that, well I hope you don't see your period for another 8-9months 🤞🏻

They will tell me today whether egg collection is Friday or Monday, hoping for Monday to give chance for more ... 18 showing on last scan (Monday) and a few small ones she couldn't measure.

Ellenn · 02/08/2023 07:31

@ttcsolomumtobe yeh unfortunately my first round was biochemical and a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks. No problem I struggle to keep up with everyone too sometimes so busy these threads but I’ve found them a really good support network 😊

definitely do what ever makes you comfortable but I’m down the line of I need to protect myself and not worry myself unnecessarily with progression lines! I think some people may get a relief from doing it but I definitely don’t!

just had a look back on my notes and I had 27 > 12mm then a further 13 smalls < 12mm. I got 24 eggs collected and have 8 embryos (although one of those hopefully getting cozy 🙈) quite different outcome this cycle with exactly the same protocol/drugs! IVF is just luck of the cycle sometimes I think!

they are great numbers as usually with excessive follicles they aren’t as good quality and I’ve heard people getting hardly any eggs collecting but actually going on to get more embryos! Got my fingers crossed those small ones are getting plumper!

@Ellenn yeah hormones and shopping is a risky move! I dunno about Barrie. I’ve not watched it yet. That’s this weekends treat! How you feeling after a sleep? Have you got any cramping etc? Haha I think they said they had someone with 50 before so maybe not a record but defo on the leadership board 😂 super scared for this morning! Been awake since 6:30. That’ll be you on test day at 5am 😂👀

@ttcsolomumtobe sorry I didn’t reply. I totoally missed your message. If it makes you feel any better. Most of my jabs have had a bit of leakage. Only a small bit but yeah always have a bubble on my tummy after. Try not to fret 🤍 I love your suggestions of taking the embaby around lots of nice places that’s super sweet.

hahaha on the wee. I am that person everyone hates in the cinema who gets up half way through 😂 good luck with your scan today. Let me know how you get on? I’ll be thinking of you why I have my epic sleep shortly! X

ttcsolomumtobe · 02/08/2023 08:45

@Ellenn yea I'm defo with you on that front and with FRERs seeming impossible to come by I would just rather pay for BETAs.

Thank you so much for looking back on your notes, so kind. Feeling a bit more reassured now re the sizes and number, won't feel as worried if they say it's Friday now. Your numbers seemed great, but yes, that little one is making themselves cosey!

@GCS34 thank you for the reassurance re leakages. And yes I thought that was such a cute idea too! Will do, it's not till 9.30 but haven't drunk anything since 7.30 so hopefully no filling up bladder in the way this time.

Same re movies ha, I don't mind others getting up but I can't miss parts and also I couldn't go 2 hours without drinking at present so cinema defo had to be put on hold.

Hope all goes well and the sedation is nice to you

LavenderJoy · 02/08/2023 09:24

I had my scan today and they could see both ovaries and more follicles which is the good news, but they have said they expected it to be a freeze all cycle as my estrogen levels are too high as day 6 they were 3000, feel gutted 😪 is there any magic way of lowering my levels ? Has anyone experiences this before with less follicles, it looks like i have around 12?

Hopingforno2in2023 · 02/08/2023 09:45

Morning all

What are BETAs?

I saw a thread where someone got 4 eggs and was devastated. However out of those 4 she got three embryos and the first one worked!

My period is definitely arriving now, bleeding has started and I have all my usual symptoms. Very relieved.

ttcsolomumtobe · 02/08/2023 12:55

@GCS34 @Ellenn home from my scan They are doing EC on Friday as have 3 above the line, i have 5 follicles that are 16 and above and 5 that are 12-15. They have estimated 8 eggs, that part I'm trying to be okay about but do worry it's a low number with drop off. Unfortunately on my last scan they thought they could see a polyp, today it was still showing. As I have had polyps removed before it is unclear if it's scarring from the polyp or another polyp.

Going ahead with EC and will decide depending on number of embryos if I go ahead and have one transferred or do a freeze all cycle and have a hysteroscopy. Privately it's just over £3k and not possible till October. I had 2 polyps removed in October 22 but had a hysteroscopy a few years earlier to remove one that was showing and it had disappeared by itself.
Waiting on a callback from my GP to find out if this could be done on NHS and quicker. Devastated about this part, somehow feels worse than a freeze all due to OHSS risk 😞 waiting on a call from clinic to confirm trigger times. Thought it was all going too well

ttcsolomumtobe · 02/08/2023 13:01

@Hopingforno2in2023 BETAs is the blood test to check the HCG (pregnancy hormone) to confirm if a person is pregnant.

HCG shows in blood sooner than urine.

@ttcsolomumtobe glad you’re back and are you looking forward to Friday for EC? Sorry you’re feeling a bit low. But 8 at a good strong size is great! Some get 10 eggs and only 1/2 mature so that’s great news. I know it’s easy to say but honestly try not to fret. Hope you’re okay. Sending love.

re the polyp, I actually had one about 3.5 weeks ago that they found when doing my smear. I had it removed a week later at a private clinic and it was only £200 but it was on my cervix. I assume yours is endometrium? Is it not possible with another clinic before October? Sending love.

im out and just very sore and very spacey!

Justkeepmoving1234 · 02/08/2023 13:53

Hi everyone, I dipped out for a little while as the oestrogen patches have made my mood drop, so I've been a bit low.

@Hopingforno2in2023 and @ttcsolomumtobe I know everyone's story is different, but to give you some hope. I had IVF in 2020, I was very slow to produce the eggs, I had to have an extra week of injections to get me there. I only had 8 eggs taken at EC, resulting in mix of 4 x 5 day A and B embryos and I got pregnant from my first embryo. Who will be 2 next week 🙂

A weird twist of fate might be that it looks like my FET might go ahead on my sons birthday next week. Which I'm hoping is a good sign! Just waiting for my scan tomorrow to see if my lining is thickening nicely, so we can go ahead.

Hope everyone is holding in there!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 02/08/2023 13:57

Thanks ttcsolo

AF has arrived so I start clomid tomorrow! I don’t have to go back in for another baseline scan so my next scan is next Tuesday now.
