FET/IVF/ICSI July 2023

Hello!

Just wanted to start a thread and see if anyone was going ahead with a transfer in July.

I've just had my nurse consult and hoping to have my second FET in July (my first was successful in Jan 2021 and I had my wonderful DD).

The first time around I was of course beyond nervous, excited, terrified it wouldn't work etc. This time it feels like that's doubled! I'm a private patient so I've saved everything for this but should it fail, it'll be a long long time before I could afford to try again.

To add some nerves, I'd need to be cycle day one no later than the 6th July to go ahead, as my clinic is moving locations. I'm currently due on the 5th...! So every chance it's moved to a Sept cycle.

Would be nice to have some company!

:)

@TheBirdintheCave oh I'm sorry lovely, see what happens with your SMU as I think the lines can vary so much. Keeping everything crossed for you. Have you got anything you can distract yourself with?

TheBirdintheCave · 22/07/2023 06:53

@Walker12 I tried to go back to sleep but I'm just so worried that I can't 😭

Walker12 · 22/07/2023 06:56

@TheBirdintheCave Try to watch something maybe? Have you heard of the mindful IVF app- I haven't tried it myself but heard good things. I'm so sorry I know the uncertainty must be so stressful x

SH998 · 22/07/2023 07:02

@TheBirdintheCave oh I’m so sorry to see this, possibly a dodgy test? X

TheBirdintheCave · 22/07/2023 07:14

@SH998 Yeah I'm starting to wonder whether this batch of Easy@Home is actually any good as I keep reminding myself that I got a good line (for 12dpo) on a Clear Blue yesterday when the E@H was still quite faint. Maybe they don't actually detect 10miu 🧐

SH998 · 22/07/2023 09:09

@TheBirdintheCave Clearblue is normally pretty accurate so try not to fret yet. I swear by Ebay One Step cheapies, they are only about £2.50 for 10 and I’ve always found them to be accurate. These are what picked a line at 5dp for me. I’ll keep every crossed for you 🤞🏼

TheBirdintheCave · 22/07/2023 09:10

@SH998 Thanks 😊 It's funny. If I'd just tested with the ClearBlue I'd be feeling ok 😂

SH998 · 22/07/2023 09:12

@TheBirdintheCave just pretend it never happened then 😃

Olivia199 · 22/07/2023 10:18

Oh my goodness @wtawtaw!!! Huge congratulations!!

@TheBirdintheCave - Oh bless you lovely. I'd absolutely say it's the test... but also that it's so so early and a faint line can all but dissappear depending on hydration!
I'd take the clear blue!

I'm now 2dpt and already driving myself mad. Got little cramps here and there. I did have some very very faint brown on my pessier goo (man, sorry guys, this is grim). Part of me hopes it's implantation but to be honest it's more likely that they found a tiny cyst during transfer. Said it has absolutely no impact and is hugely common but the tissue is obviously friable and can bleed. It did bleed during transfer so that's probably the cause.

I did wake at 5:30 and rolled over and thought "oh gosh I forgot I was pregnant". Then woke up more and remembered I'm 2dpt and not pregnant.

Yay!!! Glad you're all ready to go @lauralozzle!

So my 10am test was darker than yesterdays! Comparing the one from this morning to it is hilarious. I definitely think it's the level of dye in these tests combined with something funny going on with my pee this pregnancy 😂 Will stop with the FMU and cheapies now and definitely just stick with the ClearBlue.

@Olivia199 Maybe it's a sign! 😬

Walker12 · 22/07/2023 10:56

That's such a relief @TheBirdintheCaveI've just bought a box of the easy@home ones and now questioning whether that was wise but we shall see.
@Olivia199 hopefully a good sign of what's ahead :) we all know what you mean with the pessary goo, dont worry, no such thing as TMI when it comes to this stuff really is there!!
@AnaS86 hope your transfer goes well today

Lauralozzle · 22/07/2023 11:03

@TheBirdintheCave I think your other tests are probably faulty! Glad you got a stronger line at 10:00 ☺️

Last Fyremadel injection done this morning. Only two more injections left!

I’ve had a proper chilled morning. Got lots to do today though, having a nice hot bath (it’s not very warm today) because I won’t be able to after Monday. It was winter last cycle and I really missed baths after egg collection. I’m hoping for a 3 week heatwave from next week so I won’t want one! Not likely to happen though!

Then off to shops to buy some sandpaper because we’re going to start decorating the hallway and I need to get rid of about 5 layers of paint and varnish from the bannisters!

Olivia199 · 22/07/2023 11:10

@TheBirdintheCave - Horray!! My FMU was always really faint to be fair. But that's because I seem to drink overnight and then dehydrate during the day at work. So I'll be testing from the evening straight off.

Olivia199 · 22/07/2023 11:11

@Walker12 - That is very true. My mum came with me to transfer and said "are you nervous about the room full of people rooting around down there?".

Absolutely not. No. Every single person in this clinic has stared into the abyss at least once. I'm genuinely cool with it. 😂

Olivia199 · 22/07/2023 11:12

@Lauralozzle - Oh that sounds like a lovely morning! Yes I already miss the baths. I had one every night just incase it was my last before transfer.
Busy afternoon planned, will certainly keep you entertained if nothing else!

Not me reading age old mumsnet threads about people being 2dpt... I'm going mad. It's official.

@TheBirdintheCave 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

IVFfirsttimer91 · 22/07/2023 12:39

@Olivia199 when is your test date?

Olivia199 · 22/07/2023 12:42

@IVFfirsttimer91 - Monday 31st. So obviously that means from Monday 24th as far as I'm concerned!

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 22/07/2023 12:56

@Walker12 Yeah I think they've changed the concentration level of the dye or something. I read a post from someone who had a blood test done and knew she had 1000miu of HCG but her Easy@Home was still very faint, not even half of the control! Definitely take them with a pinch of salt.

IVFfirsttimer91 · 22/07/2023 13:09

@Olivia199 exciting times ahead!!! Fingers crossed you get an early result!!
