FET/IVF/ICSI July 2023

Hello!

Just wanted to start a thread and see if anyone was going ahead with a transfer in July.

I've just had my nurse consult and hoping to have my second FET in July (my first was successful in Jan 2021 and I had my wonderful DD).

The first time around I was of course beyond nervous, excited, terrified it wouldn't work etc. This time it feels like that's doubled! I'm a private patient so I've saved everything for this but should it fail, it'll be a long long time before I could afford to try again.

To add some nerves, I'd need to be cycle day one no later than the 6th July to go ahead, as my clinic is moving locations. I'm currently due on the 5th...! So every chance it's moved to a Sept cycle.

Would be nice to have some company!

:)

@Bristol1988 Hey that's fab news! :D

Lauralozzle · 20/07/2023 10:34

@Bristol1988 That’s fab news!!

SH998 · 20/07/2023 10:53

@TheBirdintheCave massive congrats to you :) I'm 7dp5dt and also tested positive, I've stressed every minute of the day since I have. I cant imagine the stress and panic will disappear anytime soon though.

Good luck to everyone else in the TWW and awaiting transfers, the journeys tough but will be worth it :)

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 11:01

@SH998 Congratulations to you too! It's a pretty hard thing to go through isn't it. I couldn't bear waiting to find out but knowing yes or no early also comes with unique stressors x_x Here's hoping our beans stick around.

I'm going to try and take it one day at a time from now on and try not to worry too much about tomorrow (easier said than done!).

SH998 · 20/07/2023 11:10

@TheBirdintheCave thank you, even though we are trying to get pregnant its still a massive shock seeing that second line :). Let hope they are extra sticky.

Its easier said than done but we did get pregnant so that's a massive hurdle crossed, now onto the next one :)

Olivia199 · 20/07/2023 11:15

@Bristol1988 - That's amazing! Good growing little beans!

@SH998 - oh my goodness massive congratulations! Yeah, I'm not really sure the worry and anxiety over it all ever really totally dissappear!

@Olivia199 Not too much longer to wait now! :D

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/07/2023 11:48

@Bristol1988 that's great results, hope things keep progressing well.

@SH998 congrats!

@TheBirdintheCave glad your second line is showing. It must be so hard when you've had previous losses to relax but I think one day at a time is the best approach !

@Olivia199 ooo not too long for you now

Walker12 · 20/07/2023 12:01

Wow some lovely updates, huge congrats @TheBirdintheCave and @SH998 ! I am not at all superstitious but hopefully this is a good omen for the rest of us :)

Great news on your fertilisation rate @Bristol1988and good luck with your transfer @Olivia199

@Lauralozzle I also found the fyremadel could sting, it did help a bit if I sqeezed a bigger pinch of skin (fat 🙄) to inject into though so maybe worth trying?

I am back in work today but feeling quite preoccupied with what our little embryos might be doing. We are calling them the octuplets at the moment which I realise is a terrible idea as I am too attached already 😂 I think the lack of updates however may be a good thing for us as it means we are forced to stay positive until Sunday!

ASGIRC · 20/07/2023 12:47

Congrats @TheBirdintheCave @SH998 !!!

And yay for the fertilisation rate @Bristol1988 !

Good luck with the transfer @Olivia199 !!

Just checked the post box to see if my tests have arrived... they havent. I know I wouldnt be able to test for pregnancy, but I wanted to test out for the trigger and see if its still in me!😂

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/07/2023 12:58

@ASGIRC ooo it's the worse waiting on a delivery, specially something like that.

Please keep us posted on how the testing out of the trigger goes, not sure I could brave doing it myself and seeing the 2 lines

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 13:04

@ASGIRC I didn't twig for quite a long time that the trigger shot would make a test positive. Not sure why. It was definitely interesting watching it fade. It didn't actually ever go away though, it just got extremely faint and then the tests started to get a bit more noticeable again yesterday.

ASGIRC · 20/07/2023 13:17

@ttcsolomumtobe I will! As soon as those damn tests arrive! No post on the weekends, so tomorrow is the last day they can arrive this week!
Its already been 8/9 days since the trigger, but some places say it might stay with you until day 14..

@TheBirdintheCave when did you start testing?!?!

ttcsolomumtobe · 20/07/2023 13:34

@Caroline2023 just thought I'd check in and see how you were doing as your period start date was due at a similar time to mine and know it's your first cycle

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 13:45

@ASGIRC The morning of the transfer, so seven days after I took the trigger shot. Mine was Ovitrelle 250 which has a half life of 30 hours.

That's the same one I had. I guess I have about 1.57% of it in my system at this point, going by half life!

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 14:54

I'm on day 12.5 so technically could still have 4.2miu of it in my system.

wtawtaw · 20/07/2023 14:56

@TheBirdintheCave @SH998 congratulations to you both!!! So nice to receive lovely updates like that

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 15:05

@wtawtaw Still holding out on testing? :D

wtawtaw · 20/07/2023 15:08

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 15:05

@wtawtaw Still holding out on testing? :D

Yep, I'm too scared to do it!! Were you? How do you bring your self to look at the test after the 3 mins is up!?

TheBirdintheCave · 20/07/2023 15:16

@wtawtaw This is the reason I don't wait, to avoid that fear of the definite yes or no. Because I start so early I have a couple of days of maybes before I'm forced to accept my fate (though obvs this time I think I've finally got the good outcome).

I also watch the test develop rather than putting it down and waiting which I think helps the anxiety. For me a lot of it is about feeling in control of the uncontrollable :)
