IVF/ICSI/FET - June 23

Hi!

I'm going to be starting my medications ready for a FET in June. Anybody else in the same boat or starting their cycles?

I've done one round of ICSI and had a fresh transfer in March that wasn't successful but we got 5 frozen day 5 blastocysts from it. Happy to answer any questions for anyone starting their journeys :)

Hope you're getting some rest and relaxation @Lyrabee!

I just got back from my scan, 4 follicles are growing well so hoping the other 2 will catch up. I'm day 9 of stims now, doctor thinks another 2-3 days of stims before we trigger. Lining getting (slowly) thicker. Have been told to load up on protein which I'm trying my best to do!

I'm doing okay ish. I've had a bit of a dodgy belly this morning but the cyclogest side effects do list diarrhea.
I was already feeling quite negative and now I'm doom scrolling the Internet!
I was so positive last time I had a transfer and this time I feel like I've written it off already

@Lyrabee oh bless you. I’ve had that with the cyclogest as well as feeling nauseous. What distraction things do you have planned?

@Lyrabee sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly 😞 hopefully just the cyclogest playing up and it will ease soon! Definitely still room for optimism I’d say 😊

@pixiemum2 Getting close now then 😃🤞🏼 glad your follicles are looking good!
Is the protein to help with womb lining do you know?

@HopefulHead yep. So ready to go! Just had some reflexology for the first time and it was really lovely. Don’t know if it did anything but definitely a calming experience.

@KG1244 Not long to wait now! How are you feeling?
Ive been having Accupuncture with reflexology since Jan, I like the reflexology bit but hate the Accupuncture 🫣😂
There is a lot of research that supports it alongside ivf so definitely worth it and even better if you actually enjoy it 😃

@HopefulHead I’m actually quite excited. I completely accept that this might not work and I might need a few rounds but this is going to be the closest I would have been so far to getting pregnant which feels really special and exciting. Im sure that will blow over and I will be bricking it next week!
So I steered away from acupuncture just because I’m quite needle phobic so think it would probably cause me more stress. The person who did the reflexology said she could see me again oh Tuesday but I don’t know if that’s a bit late after transfer….

@KG1244 Thats a lovely way to look at it actually 🥰 and you will be pregnant after you have your transfer so you may as well try and enjoy it ❤️
Yeah that’s the reason I don’t like the Accupuncture cause I hate needles 🫣
I suppose it can’t do any harm and if it relaxed you then that can’t be a bad thing during the TWW!

Im ok thank you ☺️ got a scan Friday, then just waiting to ovulate and keeping everything crossed it doesn’t land on Tuesday! 😬

Started my pessaries last night, forgot how gross they are!

Having a really down/odd couple of days, I don’t remember being this emotional last time. Driving to work and crying to songs. 😭

Oh bless you! I think with our hormones all over the place, it’s completely understandable.
pessaries are so so grim!!! I’m 5 days in and still very much wtf

Aparently I have a question mark on my notes as to whether I’ll have to do pessaries or not so guessing it’ll just depend on how my lining gets on but I’m hoping I don’t have to use them 😬

@HopefulHead oooh that would be lucky! They might give you injections I guess :)

I'd be curious if they don't give you any progesterone support as that keeps everything together to let the embryo implant. Keep us posted!

@Lyrabee I still have the pessaries from when I was due to have a fresh transfer so they’re there just in case!
As I’m doing a natural FET I hopefully won’t need them as long as my body does as it should 🤞🏼😬 but I’m not having any injections / hormones at all so if I do have to have them that will be the only thing I have so not too bad I guess!

I have my first scan tomorrow to check I have a dominant follicle and how my lining is coming on so I’ll let you know!

@HopefulHead all the best for your scan tomorrow. The pessaries are still annoying me! Cause of the warm weather, two basically melted in my fingers and had to get disgarded 😂

@HopefulHead ahh that makes sense! I didnt make the connection to natural/medicated!
