IVF/ICSI/FET - June 23

Hi!

I'm going to be starting my medications ready for a FET in June. Anybody else in the same boat or starting their cycles?

I've done one round of ICSI and had a fresh transfer in March that wasn't successful but we got 5 frozen day 5 blastocysts from it. Happy to answer any questions for anyone starting their journeys :)

@KG1244 hey lovely! My otd is Monday :) I havent tested yet and tbh I feel completely normal so it could go either way!

Has it sunk in for you yet? :)

@KG1244 thanks lovely! It was a negative for me today but I'm okay - work is keeping me busy!
We've already got a follow up booked in and are going to do some extra tests on my womb before we transfer again 💛

Oh so sorry to hear that @Lyrabee but pleased to hear you’re doing ok. I think getting things booked in for next steps definitely helps. Have they suggested an hsg by any chance?

@KG1244 no I've had that done previously! They want to do a biopsy of my lining so I'll need to do a fake cycle essentially

@Lyrabee I have heard about people doing this. Sounds like a good idea. Do you know when they can do that?

@KG1244 it has its usual waiting around so I'll have to have this bleed and then start another so would prob do it end of October I think.
Then it'll be another wait to do a transfer so I'll probably end up hitting the Christmas traffic and having to wait until January!

@Lyrabee ahhhh painful. I had that with my EC. Originally was looking at private as I was told that the wait for nhs was going to be a while but my period meant I couldn’t do December cause they were closed over Christmas. Hope you make the most of this time and drink lots of wine and eat lots of sushi ❤️ Take care of yourself xx

@Lyrabee Im sorry to see this wasn’t your month 😞 I’m pleased to see you’re doing ok and they have got your follow up booked in quickly, hopefully further tests may help them change things up a little ❤️

I had a letter through to say my appointment in September has had to be changed to November! So 4 months after the failed transfer 🫣 but I’m still fairly happy to be taking a break to be honest!

How are you feeling @KG1244 ? Do you have a date for your viability scan yet?

@KG1244 yeah my egg collection was the same last year, it didnt happen until march but was supposed to be january!

we have disney booked next month so at least I can go on the rides!

@HopefulHead thanks lovely. Oh what a pain! I think waiting is good. I definitely can see why folks have a break and hopefully that means you could be pregnant for Christmas still!

@Lyrabee oh lovely. You definitely deserve a break! I’m feeling alright today which is making me a bit nervous. I wish I could have a spy camera in there so I could see what’s going on!

@HopefulHead lovely to hear from you ❤️ Had my 7 week scan last week which went well. No bump yet - just a lot of bloat from the progesterone! How are you doing? Xx

Im fine thank you, they cancelled our appointment and pushed it back to November, but I’m still feeling ok with waiting so looking like it’ll be next year for us now!

@HopefulHead to be honest, it still hasn’t sunk in and I’m very nervous. Just praying that I get to 12 weeks and all is well and then hopefully I’ll feel a bit calmer.

ah that’s annoying. Did they say why? No harm in phoning for a cancellation - I’ve done that a couple of times. Drink all the wine and eat all the sushi for me whilst you wait! X

@KG1244 Have you had a date through yet for your 12 week scan?

They just sent a letter to say it had changed to a diff consultant and their next available appointment was 20th November, so not sure if the original one left 😬

Aha the wine I will happily do but the sushi is a big no I’m afraid ✋🏼😂

@HopefulHead hey lovely, I've got an appointment on Friday to look at next steps. From what they said last time I'll have an EMMA test done to see if my biome is off. It's expensive though 😩 trying to see if I can get it done through my insurance since it's diagnostic.

At least you’re in soon though so you can make a plan and see your options 🤞🏼
Hopefully you will be able to use your insurance to take the pressure off a bit 😬
