IVF/ICSI/FET - June 23

Hi!

I'm going to be starting my medications ready for a FET in June. Anybody else in the same boat or starting their cycles?

I've done one round of ICSI and had a fresh transfer in March that wasn't successful but we got 5 frozen day 5 blastocysts from it. Happy to answer any questions for anyone starting their journeys :)

Ive just had a ‘high’ result on one ovulation test and negative on 2 others so now I’m stressing that I will miss my ‘peak’ and starting to wish I had done medicated after all 🫣😆
Hopefully they’ll be able to put my mind at ease today!

@HopefulHead are they testing you every day?
Whenever I did those digital ones I seemed to skip high and go straight to peak so at least you've got that!

@Lyrabee I have to test at home, using the clear blue one, it’s been pretty reliable before but watch this month be the month it plays up for me 😂

Hoping they’ll be able to tell today if I’m close to ovulation on my scan 🤞🏼

@HopefulHead fingers crossed for your scan today! I think you asked me about why I've been asked to take more protein, it's more for the egg than lining from what I've been told.

@Lyrabee how are you doing? Hope your tummy troubles have eased up. I totally hear you re: keeping busy through work, I think I would do the same.

Had my scan this morning, am on day 11 now. Still 4 follicles have grown nicely, rest are a bit too small. Lining is also a good thickness now. Might be asked to trigger tonight or could go to tomorrow.

Hey @pixiemum2 thanks for checking in! I'm doing better and stomach issues seem to be cleared.
I had a bit of spotting last night and this morning. And when I say a bit I mean there was a tiny blob of brown CM last night and this morning the tiniest of hints of brown on the toilet paper. Like miniscule, could be my imagination size 🤣

@pixiemum2 Not long to wait now then 😃 when will you be told whether to trigger tonight or not?

Had my scan, lining is at 7mm which is good, one dominant follicle which is only 10mm so she said she’s not sure why I had a ‘high’ on the ovulation test as it doesn’t look like I’m near to ovulating so back in on Monday for another scan to see how my follicle is doing 🤭

@HopefulHead oh how strange! Maybe you just had a dodgy test! Have any previous ones said high? I only used the digital ones a couple of times. I quite like the cheap ones where you can to become a mad scientist to compare the depth of the colour between the test and control line

@Lyrabee I know, thinking it must have just been a dodgy test! I’ll do three diff ones tomorrow to be triple sure 😆 I have got those cheapy stick ones but they’re all out of date, so not sure if they’d still be accurate? 😬

@HopefulHead I didn't even know they had dates lol

@Lyrabee Aparently so! 😂 they all went out of date last year, but I can’t see it affecting them working too much 🤷🏼‍♀️

@HopefulHead all done ❤️ Waited 1.5hrs for my bladder to sufficiently fill which was not the best 😂

@HopefulHead yep. Bit antsy! Pessary I used this evening was very melty cause of the heat. I still shoved it up but not sure if it’s all in my knickers. I’m hoping one off one won’t change an outcome. Thinking of storing them in the fridge now

@KG1244 Oh no 😬 yeah, prob not a bad idea sticking them in the fridge with this weather, melts pessaries are the last thing you need to be getting stressed about aren’t they!

@HopefulHead the Dr called me back and said I can do an extra one before bed so crisis averted!

I was delayed last time and had such a full bladder it was really awkward so I didn't drink as much this time 🤣

I made the mistake of taking a pessary out with me on Monday and it melted in my bag so I couldn't use it. Mine are just in a cupboard now! Eeeee fingers crossed!

My weird brown discharge hadn't come back but I've some slight cramps today and my back is sore now but I've been stood up a long time lol

@Lyrabee thank you. It’s so weird knowing there is a tiny little embryo in me. The bladder situation was ridiculous. Honestly, as if this process isn’t difficult enough. I mean I coped and was fine but part of me worried that when the speculum opened me up, I would lose it 😂

@Lyrabee I can imagine how hard it must be to not read into every little thing during the wait. Hoping these two weeks go by quickly for you!

I did not trigger today. Clinic would like me to do one more day of treatment to grow the follicles a bit more so it might be tomorrow instead, depending on my blood test.

@pixiemum2 thank you. Exciting that you’re getting close. My clinic did the same thing - extending by an extra day. Sorry if you’ve said before, is this your first round?

@KG1244 Glad you got your pessaries sorted! How are you feeling today?

@Lyrabee Hopefully the bit of spotting and cramping is a good sign that it’s implanted 🤞🏼 when is your OTD?

@pixiemum2 its basically just no hormones / interference, so at the moment I’m tracking my ovulation with tests at home and scans at the hospital then when I’ve ovulated they figure out which day it has most likely happened and book me in for a transfer 5 days later. So it’s not as successful as controlled / medicated as they can’t be 100% sure when I ovulate and I (hopefully) won’t have any progesterone support but I wanted to try it this was as I was so poorly from the hormones during the ivf that I’m reluctant to have them again if I can help it 😬

@HopefulHead yeah I’m doing ok. Finding it difficult to sleep - I blame the heat! How are you doing?

@HopefulHead OTD isn't for another 9 days lol I'm still not feeling overly positive but trying to boost myself up a bit. Sorry if you've said already, do you have many frozen?

@pixiemum2 it's good they're doing an extra day to make sure! I remember I had to stop the stim and just do the ovulation stopper for my last day because majority my follicles were getting too big but a couple of others they hoped would catch up. Sounds like they're taking care of you x
