IVF/ICSI/FET - June 23

Hi!

I'm going to be starting my medications ready for a FET in June. Anybody else in the same boat or starting their cycles?

I've done one round of ICSI and had a fresh transfer in March that wasn't successful but we got 5 frozen day 5 blastocysts from it. Happy to answer any questions for anyone starting their journeys :)

Hope everyone is okay, @KG1244 we don't know what our gradings are which I think is easier! I can totally understand you wanting to do another EC, especially if you might want more than one child (but obv fingers crossed for the first one first!)

How are you @pixiemum2 ?

Thanks all 🥰 I went to bed super early thinking the sooner I went to sleep the sooner it would be transfer day! But now I’m wide awake with hours before my alarm goes off 🫣😂

@Lyrabee thats really interesting and probably makes the process a lot easier. I’m really in two minds at the moment and also feeling very conscious of time. Will see what the dr says on Monday. How are you doing?

Thank you 🥰 just on my way back home now, all went well and we even got a little printout of our embryo safely in my lining which was lovely ❤️

Aaaah amazing @HopefulHead we got those too 😀 glad it went well and congrats on being PUPO!

@KG1244 I'm doing okay, my bleed started yesterday and the cramps have been something else but it's been a quietish week for me.

@Lyrabee omg same. My period started yesterday and it’s next level cramping. Urgh. Haven’t we been through enough?! Do you know if this is the standard bleed and then it should just return again next month as usual?

@KG1244 last time my periods were back to normal, I had the bleed after stopping the meds and then my next period was a little later than normal but only by a couple of days.

They told me this could be heavier due to the medication this time and so far it definitely is!

@Lyrabee thanks, that’s really helpful to know. Yesterday morning was agony but it’s definitely eased a bit now and more manageable although heavier 😬 eating all the chocolate right now!

@KG1244 omg yes! I literally just want to lay on the sofa! I think it's coming off the progesterone as that is supposed to give you a boost!

I'm really sorry to hear that @Sqiggle85 sending you hugs and I hope you take the time and space for some self-care now.

I have been feeling a bit crampy and my progesterone level from Friday was 500 so not sure what to make of all this. Am just trying to carry on my weekend as normal but can't say I've been feeling positive today, especially because of the cramps. Does anyone if a period might start while you're on progesterone injections or will it only start when you stop them?

@KG1244 i compared myself to a slug earlier, I just feel so heavy.

@pixiemum2 cramps can be a sign of the embryo burrowing! I'm not sure about the period as I've not done the progesterone injections.
With my fresh transfer I had the pessaries and my period started. With the frozen, I had estradiol tablets and the pessaries and it didn't start but the nurse asked me if it had so I think it could depending on your other hormone levels.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@pixiemum2 sorry to hear you’re not feeling great 😞 I’m not sure about if the injections stop your period coming either I’m afraid, but cramping could be a sign either way so try not to give up hope ❤️
When is your OTD again?

@Lyrabee & @KG1244 Thats rubbish you’re both so zapped of energy 😓 hopefully you’ve both been able to take it easy this weekend and relax and hoping your energy levels come back soon!

@KG1244 Oh that’s rubbish 😓 the after effects seem to be lasting a while don’t they!

Im ok thank you, just symptom spotting like mad and googling the earliest someone got a positive after a fet to see when I can test reliably lol

@HopefulHead yep, really exhausted. I’m sure it will pass soon. So I think you can test 8 days after as that is the point when you HCG starts going up but still could be too early. Urgh I really feel for you. The wait is horrible. Have you bought some puzzles? 😂
