IVF/ICSI/FET - June 23

Hi!

I'm going to be starting my medications ready for a FET in June. Anybody else in the same boat or starting their cycles?

I've done one round of ICSI and had a fresh transfer in March that wasn't successful but we got 5 frozen day 5 blastocysts from it. Happy to answer any questions for anyone starting their journeys :)

Congrats @pixiemum2 - glad it went well. Sorry you've had to go into work afterwards for a meeting! How are you feeling?

@HopefulHead I'm not feeling too bad on the stims, especially since I'm on a high dose - I've just had days where I feel tired. I have low AMH so only likely to get 4-5 eggs. I guess when there aren't as many follicles growing there's less bloat?

Scan today showed:

1 - 18mm (ready to go!)
1 - 17mm
1 - 16mm
2 - 15mm

Then I've got 1 at 12mm, 2 at 8mm and another teeny one at under 6mm which has just shown it's face.

Mini ones defo won't catch up but hopefully I'll have 5 for Friday to work with and the biggest one won't overgrow. What do you think?! x

Congrats @pixiemum2 glad it went okay :) shame you have to go into work! The sedation hit me hard lol I barely stayed awake all day!

@pixiemum2 Congratulations! 6 Is a great number and plenty for them to work with 🥰 I got 7 eggs and ended up with 4 blasts so hopefully similar numbers for you 😃

@Lebe14 Glad you’re not feeling too bad on them and 4/5 eggs is still a fair amount to have growing all at once!
Those numbers look great - I think it’s up to 24mm before they’re over mature isn’t it? So hopefully the smaller will catch up before the big one gets to that size 🥰

My scan today didn’t go great 😔 my ‘dominant’ follicle has only grown 2mm since Friday so it looks like I’m not going to ovulate this month. The nurse said ‘just because you bleed every 4 weeks doesn’t mean you ovulate every month’ which was pleasant 🙃
I cried the whole way home as it’s looking like another month where we won’t be implanting, I know a month in the grand scheme of things isn’t huge but it just feels like every push back we could have had we have had, and I’m also now worrying that my ovulation may never come back 🥺 Got another scan Wednesday so hoping for some better news!

@pixiemum2 thats great news. Take care of yourself. I found it to be a very weird sedation cause I was completely out but then once I was awake, I was very alert within a few minutes. Thanks for sharing about the pessaries, I’m going to use the back door more!

@HopefulHead I’m so sorry to hear that today didn’t go well. I know it’s so tough to get setbacks through this process. If you can, try not to think too far ahead and take it day by day. Sending you lots of love xx

@HopefulHead no problem, I know thing whole is the 💩 of the 💩. Yes I’m ok today, trying my best to keep myself distracted.

Have you managed to come up with many ideas to keep distracted? I bet it’s driving you a little crazy trying to get to OTD 😬

@HopefulHead I’ve been ok so far but been busy over the weekend. Also started a puzzle 😂

Just had my scan, my follicle has grown to 15mm so starting to look more likely that I will ovulate this month 😃🥳 I’m so relieved! Hopefully I’ll have a little one on board next week 🥰

@KG1244 it's such a long wait! How are you? I've started getting cramps so assume it hasn't work and my period is trying to come through :(

When is your OTD again?

@Lyrabee yeah I’m ok, had a bit of lower back pain and that’s about it. I’m trying my best to keep calm and distracted. The symptom checking is so hard cause it could be either way but I know it’s really not easy ☹️Keeping everything crossed for you x

@HopefulHead aaah I've been trying to convince myself of that too but I'm 9 days after now so think it's too late!

@KG1244 I know right it's horrible! My test day is Monday so 4 days left when I wake up. Fingers crossed for you too lovely x

@Lyrabee thank you! I started getting antsy last night urghhh. It’s not too long now….can’t believe we are one day apart on testing!

I think you’ve both done amazing with holding off testing early! Sure it must have taken a lot of will power!

@HopefulHead Thank you. To be honest, I think I would find testing early more stressful for me as I would be stressed that the result was inaccurate. I’m finding this bit of the countdown harder tbh. First week wasn’t as bad.

@KG1244 Yeah I guess having a false positive or negative would both be heartbreaking so not worth the added stress I guess.
I bet it is hard now it’s getting closer 😬

Yeah I agree, I was incredibly tempted to test but then I figured it's not going to help me because it could be wrong and you can't control how it makes you feel.

Not too long to go now though!
