IVF/ICSI/FET - June 23

Hi!

I'm going to be starting my medications ready for a FET in June. Anybody else in the same boat or starting their cycles?

I've done one round of ICSI and had a fresh transfer in March that wasn't successful but we got 5 frozen day 5 blastocysts from it. Happy to answer any questions for anyone starting their journeys :)

I will be keeping everything crossed for both of you 🤞🏼🤞🏼

KG1244 · 29/06/2023 12:47

@HopefulHead the googling has definitely kicked up a notch 😂 first puzzle is complete so I’m going to start the second one tonight 😊

How are you doing today?

HopefulHead · 29/06/2023 12:51

@KG1244 Oh I can imagine 🫣 Even though all Google does is tell you every symptom could equally be a sign of early pregnancy or impending period 🫣🫣 So hard not to try and find a definite answer though isn’t it lol
Hopefully the second will keep you occupied over the weekend then 🤞🏼
Im ok thank you 🥰 still no surge today so keeping everything crossed I get it tomorrow!

KG1244 · 29/06/2023 13:36

@HopefulHead it is so hard!! Yep, bring on puzzle number 2 haha.

Bring on that surge!!!!!!!!

HopefulHead · 29/06/2023 13:46

@KG1244 Im half praying to get to the point where I’m in the TWW but also dreading the mental torture it’s gonna cause 😬
I know! Can’t believe I’m on day 16 of my cycle now and no surge when I always surge on day 13!!! Typical 🙈

HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 06:14

Finally got my surge 😃🥳 so all being well I should be transferring next Thursday 🥰

KG1244 · 30/06/2023 08:07

@HopefulHead woop woop! YAY

HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 08:59

@KG1244 how are you feeling today?

KG1244 · 30/06/2023 09:05

@HopefulHead a little bit sore. Those pessaries are not the one! I’m also still worried that it’s all leaking out in my pants 😫

HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 09:07

@KG1244 Have you still stuck with going in the front with them then?
Ive seen so many stories of women struggling with the pessaries, I really feel for you 😞
Hopefully all the discomfort will be worth it though and you won’t have to use them for too long 🤞🏼❤️

KG1244 · 30/06/2023 09:17

@HopefulHead yes, the nurse told me to keep up front until testing day. I don’t understand why the advice seems to vary from clinic to clinic. I mean I’m hoping I get to use them for 12 weeks - at which point downstairs will be in a world of pain 😂

Lyrabee · 30/06/2023 09:20

Yey @HopefulHead ! What a relief its finally come! 😌

OP posts:
HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 09:37

@KG1244 God that’s so long! When I was given them for fresh transfer before it was cancelled I was told it would be up to 10 weeks taking them, your clinic definitely seem to like to put you through it don’t they 😬

@Lyrabee Yeah a huge relief!
How are you feeling today? Hope you’re having a better time of the pessaries 😬

KG1244 · 30/06/2023 10:02

@HopefulHead yep 😂 definitely some variance. When will you next be going to your clinic?

HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 10:43

@KG1244 It is crazy how much difference there is between clinics isn’t it?!

I’ve got a scan today at 5pm again but they said it will likely be too soon to see that I’ve ovulated so I’ll probably have to go again tomorrow, but I don’t mind really, I’d rather then scan as much as possible and get it right 😬 it’s just a pain that the clinic is an hour away 🫣🙈

KG1244 · 30/06/2023 10:47

@HopefulHead yes I’m in the same position in terms of distance but good they are checking you.

HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 11:12

@KG1244 Ah it’s a pain isn’t it?! We’re both so lucky that our works have been really flexible with us, I’ve read some awful stories on here of people being fired or having to go without their partners so I’m so grateful me and DH are both able to pop out of work for 3/4 hours at a time 😬

Lyrabee · 30/06/2023 11:20

@HopefulHead the pessaries aren't great but feel like they're better than the last time I took them! I'm still alternating between front and back every couple days so I'm not getting too messy 🙃

I've still got no kinds of symptoms except cramps every so often 😫

OP posts:
HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 11:28

@Lyrabee It’s not necessarily a bad thing you have no symptoms, just hopefully means AF isn’t about to come 🤞🏼 you’re on the home stretch now so not long to go! And we’re all rooting for you and keeping everything crossed for a positive for you on Monday ❤️

Lyrabee · 30/06/2023 11:43

Thanks @HopefulHead I've definitely been quite negative this time around 😅
I appreciate all the thoughts and crossed fingers!

OP posts:
HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 11:58

@Lyrabee Must be so hard if you’ve got he gut feeling of ‘it’s not worked’ 😞 I honestly think any woman who goes through this process is a bloody super hero for how much we put ourselves through, I’d take the physical effects a million times over having to deal with the emotional trauma it causes 😭

Lyrabee · 30/06/2023 12:10

@HopefulHead it's the conflicting emotions that drives me mad and I'm quite open about telling people about it but then they seem to assume that that means they can repeatedly message asking for news and it's like no I told you so that you would give me space lol

OP posts:
HopefulHead · 30/06/2023 13:30

Oh god @Lyrabee I totally relate to that, I work in a really small office so they were all aware what was going on but now every time I go out for an appointment I get a load of questions 😭 I am currently telling them all I’m being monitored and not looking to implant until the end of the year cause I can’t bear them all asking me if it fails 😭
Its a really hard medium between telling people enough and not telling them too much isn’t it 😬

Lyrabee · 30/06/2023 14:02

@HopefulHead yeah it really is! It's surprising how many people suddenly feel they have a right to know everything that's going on!
But then on the opposite side of the scale there are some that are completely ignorant and in my experience it seems to be the ones who already have children and have no tact, complaining about it to me.

KG1244 · 30/06/2023 14:11

@HopefulHead @Lyrabee completely feel all your feelings! I think a lot of people just have no idea how to behave.
