Create Fertility - Experiences

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

I would think all clinics would need to approach the same across the UK as it is one company

@Sunflower360 I haven’t had any invoicing/payment issues. Had my first egg collection this morning, based on scans and last week’s blood tests plan was to do EC Wed or Thurs this week and hope to get 2 eggs (smaller follicle needed a bit more time), but ended up being booked in urgently yesterday afternoon as blood test showed LH level had risen significantly and they were worried I would ovulate. Managed to retrieve one egg today so I’m happy with that (all things considered) and now waiting to see if it fertilises and progresses.
I’ve been scanned and had blood tests Fri, Mon, Wed, Fri, Mon and then egg collection today - I’m really pleased with the monitoring as if they hadn’t done a blood test yesterday I would likely have lost the egg.

@Sunflower360 This is the reply I just got - "Thank you for informing me- it appears as though it was a system error. The 2-cycle support package is £1360.00, but this was not coming up on the billing. We have amended this for you."

System error my %$£^%! That was £300 extra, CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK!!

Sunflower360 · 18/07/2023 14:09

Sorry to hear that @VSRCM did you end changing patient coordinator as you mentioned they would do that?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 18/07/2023 14:11

@HopefulElle good to hear it is going well, as you say it is good to have 1 egg than none, and after it all it does only take one. Hope fertilisation goes ok, are you having ICSI? Will you go straight into another cycle?

Sunflower360 · 18/07/2023 14:12

@HopefulElle also hope you feel ok after the egg collection, it can be quite full on!

VSRCM · 18/07/2023 14:20

@Sunflower360 yes and this is the new PC making errors!!

HopefulElle · 18/07/2023 14:42

@Sunflower360 thanks - I feel fine after egg collection, just a little sleepy and crappy so taking it easy today. Was nervous this morning that I might have ovulated and have nothing to collect, but actual experience was great. Would have loved to get more than one obviously but with my AFC/AMH I’m taking one as a win, and they’ll make tweaks for my next cycle. Will be having another consultation next week as they might change my protocol based on this one. Not doing ICSI as husband’s sperm results were great. Fingers tightly crossed for the next few days! Going straight into the next cycle x

Sunflower360 · 18/07/2023 16:36

Fingers crossed @HopefulElle keep us posted!

@VSRCM are they making any changes to your treatment next time round?

OP posts:
VSRCM · 20/07/2023 11:54

@Sunflower360 I'll be on the same medications, mild stimulation, but a break in between: so, July and Sept will be treatment cycles. Are you on back to back?

Sunflower360 · 20/07/2023 12:12

@VSRCM waiting for AMH levels to decide the suitable protocol. Will be either mild (I'm borderline for that based on my last results) or natural modified

hi everyone I am new here and so happy to find all your posts very recent.

I am still on the wobble whether to even start IVF at all as I know myself I am the personality of if I start it I’ll likely not want to get off it until 6 cycles which would be hugely devastating going through all the let downs !

We already had tests done abroad (at the time we thought was cheaper and was considering there) and found my AMH is low (I am 41) and husband’s morphology is 0% although I’m not convinced that’s consistent.

I just started supplementing myself on prenatals, Ubiquinol, Vit D, Vit E, and will get hubby on Proceive Max

I still undecided now between Kings or Create in London to actually start off. I know Create would do the natural modified IVFs for my age range and low AMH but should I actually explore a conventional IVF first at Kings for my first try? The reason I am looking at a Kings is that they seem to have the highest success stats on HFEA for age 40-42.

At this point I will likely chicken out just due to decision overwhelm and fear. I really don't know what to do so I am just following you all right now and reading the shit out of this. If I decide to do IVF I'll likely do an initial consultation next month which will put me to start the IVF hopefully Sept. Thank you

RarePlant · 20/07/2023 17:46

One extra question I had about Create/King's 3 package cyles is can you have a mixture of say 1 Mild IVF then 2 Natural Modified? Anyone know?

Sunflower360 · 20/07/2023 19:53

Hi @RarePlant 👋 I am as yet to start with Create but am going through some tests atm - so far I have been happy with their advice. I have had a cycle with the NHS, which was high stims and failed at fertilisation (not very tailored at all). I am likely to go down natural modified but am waiting my AMH results for that decison.

Personally I would advise having more than one consultation at different locations to get a feel of the right clinic for you. I had a consultation at another private clinic and I was really not impressed, Create have been a lot more tailored so far but I am as yet to start treatment with them!

I have read on these forums that you can interchange between mild and natural modified too.

@Sunflower360 Thanks for the info on interchanging cycles. The thing that nags at me is I haven't yet had a chance yet to firstly try out high stims/conventional IVF so I wouldn't know how my body reacts to that! I could explore my first with high stims just to scratch that itch... or just go straight to Mild and Natural Modified.. Argh.

Hope you update us on your AMH results xx

Sunflower360 · 20/07/2023 20:13

@RarePlant yeah the first cycle really is an experiment in all honesty. With the NHS I started and then had an abandoned cycle as they could only see 2 follicles (meds were dispensed wrong too as I didn't have enough pens so they thought not taking enough stims could have affected it). I then restarted where they got 4 eggs, of which 2 were mature but unfortunately they did not fertilise properly (one abnormally fertilised) so ICSI for next time now. So in short, I'm pretty sure high stims is not for me. I'm not expecting more eggs with Create, if anything less but I'm hoping for quality over quantity, I really don't think the high stims did me any favours when my AFC is only around 5-7.

Will let you know how my AMH result is....it was 6 late last year, I'm pre empting it has gone down.

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 20/07/2023 20:14

Mild and natural modified is more cost-effective, too by the way because of lower stims

OP posts:
VSRCM · 21/07/2023 08:44

Hi @RarePlant ,

I did one cycle conventional with NHS, 16 eggs, 3 fertilised and 2 made blastocysts. The subsequent was with Create mild IVF, 10 eggs, 4 fertilised, 3 made blastocysts. Create will tell you they aim for quality, not quantity and I personally think that is very sensible. It is a rollercoaster ride and getting a big number at egg collection don't necessarily mean anything. I'm also 41 this year.

RarePlant · 21/07/2023 09:24

Did any of you look at doing the mild or natural IVF at Kings fertility before deciding with Create? Kings’ costs are in the same range-ish but I checked the HFEA website and their stats for age range 40-42 were much better. I am now gonna join the Create webinar this month but I had been swinging more towards trying first with Kings cause of those higher stats at 40-42 and if they are also willing to try some milder stims if I don’t react.

VSRCM · 21/07/2023 13:02

I'm not promoting for Create by the way, quite the opposite! I'm just saying conventional IVF aims to get as many eggs as possible, which at our age doesn't mean very much as the quality isn't as great.

I'm not familiar with Kings.

Sunflower360 · 21/07/2023 17:21

@HopefulElle how are you getting on? Hope all is ok

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 22/07/2023 20:47

@Sunflower360 All good thanks - 1st cycle of 3 cycle package complete, one high quality embryo frozen! Doctor wants to tweak approach for next cycle, hoping to get 2 embryos from it. (It was close to being 2 this time but then LH massively surged so had to proceed with earlier/urgent egg collection, so glad for the frequency of blood tests as otherwise I wouldn’t have this embryo). I know for a lot of people one embryo would be a disappointing result, but as for me, given the circumstances, I’m delighted! Fingers crossed for the next few months, but happy with how things are going so far..
Husband thinks I’m crazy but I’m desperate to start the next cycle now!

Sunflower360 · 22/07/2023 21:00

That is great news @HopefulElle ! Tbh from what I've read people with higher numbers can sometimes still only end up with 2/3 embryos so to get 1 on the first round is good going. Will you restart straight away?

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 22/07/2023 21:59

@Sunflower360 thank you - really had no idea how it would go so I’m pleased/relieved. Have an appointment next week to discuss what they’d like to do differently next cycle, and then yes I’ll restart straight away. How are you getting on? X
