Create Fertility - Experiences

1000 replies

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

@HopefulElle how are you getting on? All set to start soon?

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 08/07/2023 13:09

@Sunflower360 yes any day now - had a scan yesterday (CD 3/4) only saw 3 follicles measuring <5 mm. Not unexpected as my AFC has been 3-5 at numerous scans. Won’t start meds until 10mm so scan again Monday.. I’m finding it psychologically harder than I expected already, hopefully my mind slows down a bit soon! How are you getting on? X

Sunflower360 · 08/07/2023 13:26

@HopefulElle 3 follicles is still good, it only takes one after all

Sunflower360 · 08/07/2023 14:30

@HopefulElle do you need to have a certain amount/sizing to start the meds for natural modified?

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 09/07/2023 21:52

@Sunflower360 I think they want to see a lead follicle at 10mm, I don’t think numbers beyond one matter, but size does. Will let you know how tomorrow goes.

Sunflower360 · 10/07/2023 18:57

That is good to know @HopefulElle Hope today went well for you

@HopefulElle How is it going for?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 12/07/2023 13:35

@VSRCM how are things with you? Are you staying with CREATE?

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 12/07/2023 21:08

@Sunflower360 I had 2 follicles at 10mm today and have started on gonal F tonight, at last! It’s day 7/8 so a couple of days behind expected, but they’ve said nothing to worry about at this stage and gonal will help them along. Gonal tonight and tomorrow night and back for scan/bloods again on Friday.
I’ve had scans and bloods Friday, Monday, today and now Friday too - so very happy with the monitoring (& nurses are lovely!), luckily my work is flexible (haven’t told them) as I live an hour away from the clinic..

Sunflower360 · 12/07/2023 21:18

That is good to hear @HopefulElle ! If you don't mind me asking what meds/doses are you on?

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 12/07/2023 21:52

@Sunflower360 thanks, fingers crossed! Sure - I’m just on Gonal F 150iu (one daily injection) for now. All being well, at some point soon-ish I’ll start also taking Cetrotide to prevent spontaneous ovulation, then an ovulation trigger shot 36h before egg collection

Sunflower360 · 13/07/2023 12:44

That sounds very positive @HopefulElle Ref Karyotype test that you had how long did it take and how much was it?

Hi, we've just had our egg collection at Create and hope to transfer over the weekend. Has anyone managed to get an embryo photo pre transfer when going through treatment at create. We'd love to get an embryo water colour done for our nursery, as and when we have a successful cycle.

Good luck to all the other July Create Cycles 🥰

Sunflower360 · 13/07/2023 20:03

Not sure myself @MrsFTTC but all the best for the transfer! We're getting karyotype testing before starting with Create, so is likely to be another month or so.

If you don't mind me asking, what treatment plan have you gone for?

OP posts:
MrsFTTC · 13/07/2023 20:07

@Sunflower360 we just went with the mild IVF 1 cycle. It's our first cycle and that's what our consultant recommended so went with that.

Good luck with all of your tests x

HopefulElle · 13/07/2023 20:46

@Sunflower360 it took 4 weeks to come back. Honestly I paid for so many tests I can’t remember how much that one was, but definitely the most expensive, maybe around £300? Not sure.

VSRCM · 14/07/2023 08:36

Hi @Sunflower360 - We had the doctor follow up this week and he's proposed to do a few things differently. Then I got the quote following the call and already found some typos with the figures! It is very annoying that I may be choosing to stay with them (rather than doing it abroad) because it's convenient, they are the closest fertility clinic to us so I hope I'm not making a big mistake here.

I have the treatment consultation next week, then I have to pay before they release the medications to start treatment this month. When does your treatment start?

Sunflower360 · 14/07/2023 08:50

That is frustrating @VSRCM what errors have they made?

I am likely to start end of next month now, as we're having Karyotype testing and they are restesting my AMH to decide between mild or natural modified, so far experience has been positive

OP posts:
VSRCM · 14/07/2023 10:23

It was all positive for me until I'm commited to the plan is my experience @Sunflower360 :)

I had a few questions when they emailed me about the new treatment plan/quote and one of the mistakes was the price of the FET (she also didn't reply but called me to say it's a typo so I wasn't pleased with that). They also were trying to charge me for progesterone and I said I dont need that until I know for sure I have a good embryo to transfer.

I asked about getting a prescription to source the meds myself (not sure if it was you who asked the question) and you can do that but they charge £50.

I'm telling myself the clinicians and doctors do know what they are doing, I just need to put up with the not-so-great service from the admin team.

HopefulElle · 14/07/2023 20:38

@MrsFTTC good luck with your transfer! X

VSRCM · 18/07/2023 12:51

@Sunflower360 hello, FYI I've just had my treatment consultation and got sent an invoice after. We paid it as soon as received because otherwise they won't release the medication. Then we got a phone call saying they have made a mistake and should have invoiced me for 2 cycles. The nurse at the treatment consultation session told us payment would be split into 2 but this apparently isn't the case. Not sure who's made the miscommunication but here's another example of errors on their part! I hope you have a better experience.

Sunflower360 · 18/07/2023 13:02

Thanks for letting me know @VSRCM Was this invoicing for 2 cycles meds in one go thay required payment? Only invoicing I have had so far is for multi cycle and that has included everything including meds and all the pre treatment tests advised ...tests we're paying in advance so when it comes to the final invoice I will be going through it with a fine toothcomb following your issues! I have not paid for anything as yet, though, as we're just waiting for tests to take place

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 18/07/2023 13:03

@HopefulElle how are you getting on with your treatment? By any chance have you had any invoicing issues at all? Be good to understand how widespread the issue is and whether it is more central call centre or branch based

OP posts:
VSRCM · 18/07/2023 13:12

@Sunflower360 which branch are you with? I paid for all my tests upfront last time!
With the meds, I made it clear I don't want to pay for what I dont need yet; so they are just invoicing on the 2 cycle + support + ICSI. The 2 cycle support works out more expensive per unit cost.

Sunflower360 · 18/07/2023 13:16

@VSRCM I may need to pay on the day before the actual tests, but they have not sent a link or anything like that to pay before the actual day, not that I'm aware of anyway
