Create Fertility - Experiences

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

@Sunflower360 there are lots of angles to look at it and not all consultants would recommend it I'm sure. Had I had a different consultant at my follow up call they may not have advised the same. I just read on another post someone saying they'd been told that the HFEA are going to be changing the rating on PGT-A testing for older women and those with recurrent miscarriages to either amber or green shortly. I need to google and see if I can find anything on that.

I'm so sorry you experienced a chemical pregnancy, all baby loss is heartbreaking 💔 thank you - I really hope so. That will be a very nerve wracking wait that's for sure.

Sunflower360 · 19/09/2023 15:21

@Jx3303 oh if you find that please do share would be good to read.

@Sunflower360 I can't actually find anything online. For now I will go with my Consultants advice and trust in the clinic. They've taken very good care of me so far.

Do you have a follow up booked before you start your next cycle? X

Sunflower360 · 19/09/2023 19:45

@Jx3303 I asked but was advised I would not have one until after the 2nd cycle to plan what happens in the 3rd and final cycle of the package....suppose it will just be same again then

@Jx3303 I’m ok thanks! Just (im)patiently waiting for my period (strange how that changes with IVF, never wanted it to show up before now I’m desperate for it to!)
@Sunflower360 I was exactly the same, desperate to get going in the next cycle as soon as I’d finished the first! Hopefully your second one will be possible straight away x

Woodcottage1 · 19/09/2023 19:55

Re testing, I’m not going to do it as I only had 3 embryos and best case scenario for me is 1 out of 5 will be normal. I’m just going to see what I’ve been dealt with and am aware I might have miscarriages. The first embryo didn’t work as I’ve written on here. I’ve asked to have the other two transferred together.
When I was 40 I had a round of ivf in which I collected 5 embryos, I had them tested and I had 1 normal, 2 abnormal and 2 fragmented. The one normal became my daughter. The other two were lost. If you get great results embryo wise I’d go for the testing, if not I think it’s too early days to lose precious embryos that might just correct themselves, even if the chance is small.

Jx3303 · 19/09/2023 20:16

@Sunflower360 I see, hopefully you can get going again with the next cycle! Enjoy the few injections free weeks x

@HopefulElle oh I know, it's such a strange thing isn't, so much pressure on it coming so you can go again / move forward. Hopefully it shows up soon! X

@Woodcottage1 totally understand your opinion, everyone is different and has their own thoughts and feelings with all of these decisions we have to make. I had a very long drawn out and traumatic missed miscarriage where I waited for it to happen, it didn't so I went for surgical, I was then told it wasn't completely successful, waited some more, tried medication which didn't work and had to wait again. There were SO many appointments and went on for about 6 weeks. I do need to understand a little more about the testing and we'll see if we can add another to the batch 🤞🏻

Woodcottage1 · 19/09/2023 20:31

I do understand. I had my first ever natural pregnancy in November last year, and miscarried at 8 weeks but I had a very simple miscarriage with no drugs. I think I’m on a bit of a last chance saloon and often think about the two fragmented embryos from my round about 4 years ago. If you’re getting good results and over the 5 embryos then it makes sense as surely one will be normal so it can pin point which one. If you don’t get the numbers then you don’t want to regret the what ifs, a lot of research is still happening in the USA on this subject.

Woodcottage1 · 19/09/2023 20:35

I’m on my estrogen and next Monday I’m scanning to potentially have my next transfer Monday 2nd of October. I’m going to go with both of my embryos I have left. Fingers crossed 🤞

Jx3303 · 19/09/2023 20:48

@Woodcottage1 I'm so sorry you also experienced a miscarriage, it's heartbreaking. Do they just outright say they won't transfer anything other than normal at create do you know? Do they also recommend you have to have at least 5? My consultant didn't say anything about the number we had to have or the quality of embyros. We haven't paid for the testing yet so I'm assuming could still change our mind.

That's great news you have your next transfer planned - everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Woodcottage1 · 19/09/2023 20:58

@Jx3303 how old are you? You can find out on line roughly how many blastocysts you need to hopefully have a normal one. As far as I’m aware only normal embryos will be transferred. It was completely the right decision for me in 2019 as it resulted in my daughter who was born October 2020 but because of Covid everything then was delayed and I couldn’t go back to cyprus, so started collecting in 2021 at create. I’ve not been very successful, as I’ve only got 3 blastocysts from my cycles, and I’m a lot older, consequently I don’t want to be in a situation of damage to these last two etc. If you’re 40 or under, and you’ve got 5 or more blastocysts, I’d test.

Jx3303 · 19/09/2023 21:40

@Woodcottage1 I am 35, 3 of my embryos were made when I was 34 (although not far off 35) and 1 in March when I'd just turned 35. Lovely to hear you had a successful cycle in Cyprus and have your daughter. I completely understand that and know we all want as many as possible but also, an embryo a cycle is a amazing and really the aim I think. Anything additional is a huge added bonus and let's hope we have quality over quantity xx

Woodcottage1 · 19/09/2023 22:02

At your age between 2-4 blastocysts should be normal, so i would test. I know it’s quality over quantity why we agreed to mild ivf, but it would be interesting to see if our reduced numbers of embryos do equate to more normals.

Jx3303 · 20/09/2023 07:11

I hope so 🤞🏻 I do have low amh and afc hence why we went with mild too.

@Sunflower360 good luck with your call today!!! Thinking of you and hope with everything your other 2 embryos join the day 3 in the freezer today ❄️ ❄️

Sunflower360 · 20/09/2023 10:51

Thanks @Jx3303 had the call and we have a good grade embryo in the freezer to go with day 3 frozen ❤️ The other one is still being monitored so I'm aniticipating it won't make it but it is something to have 2 so far. Will see what the next 2 cycles hold....if I can get another one over the next 2 cycles that will be good. Conscious I'm 38 soon so hopefully one of them would be a euploid but will see what happens

HopefulElle · 20/09/2023 13:20

oh wow @Sunflower360! A day 3 & a day 5 from your first cycle (and still possibility of a 3rd) is an amazing result! So pleased for you.

Sunflower360 · 20/09/2023 13:25

Thank you @HopefulElle it is better than I hoped, just hope I haven't peaked early, so will see what the next 2 cycles have to offer. The day 3 frozen was a 10 cell, not sure of the grade. Did you know your grade/details? Never wanted AF to arrive as quick as I do now so I can get on with it! Want to just get the egg collections done tbh

Sunflower360 · 20/09/2023 13:26

@Jx3303 how are you stims going? Do you have scan before the weekend?

OP posts:
Jx3303 · 20/09/2023 13:49

@Sunflower360 that's fantastic! Super pleased for you! It's nice when those dreaded calls are out the way isn't it! You sound like you'll zoom through collections, none of mine were close together for a number of reasons including Christmas! Stims going ok thank you! On my way down to Manchester today, one train down two to go! I have my day5 scan tomorrow morning and likely Saturday I would guess x

Sunflower360 · 20/09/2023 19:24

@Jx3303 hope your scan goes ok tomorrow!

OP posts:
HopefulElle · 20/09/2023 21:07

@Sunflower360 completely relate, just want them all done! I don’t know about number of cells for my day 3. They said they grade them 1 to 4 (or maybe 5? But I think 4.) with 1 being the best, and mine was right on the threshold of 1 & 2.

Sunflower360 · 21/09/2023 09:30

Thanks @HopefulElle I asked the question and the day 3 in the freezer is a grade 2 for us.

The third embryo didn't make the freeze unfortunately, made it to blastocyst but was a low grade for freezing.

So will see what the next cycle holds...quite conscious each cycle can vary so much, especially as their back to back, so going in with no expectations.

Sunflower360 · 21/09/2023 09:30

@Jx3303 hope your scan goes ok today

OP posts:
Jx3303 · 21/09/2023 11:37

@Sunflower360 I'm sorry your third didn't make it to the freezer, two in your first round is fab I hope you're pleased with a great start.

It went ok thank you - I get so anxious at the appointments and the nurse remembered me and was so lovely it of course made me tear up 🥹 i like the Dr, he's so positive with what he says. 4 follicles were measured so I'd think we'd be aiming for two eggs (that's what we got second round which resulted in 2 embyros). Anything at this point is a bonus given we're kinda just doing this cycle to "finish" the package so to speak. I asked if there were a certain number of embyros we needed to have in order to PGT-A test and they said no there isn't. So that's good to know. I added certrotide after my scan and I have another scan Saturday morning and then my OH will be down 🩷

Sunflower360 · 21/09/2023 12:03

That's good news @Jx3303 , fingers crossed. As you said you got 2 embryos last time so 4 follicles is a really good start. Perhaps there could be more follicles that pop up too
