Create Fertility - Experiences

1000 replies

Sunflower360 · 13/05/2023 07:41

Hi 👋

I was hoping for people's experiences and thoughts on Create Fertility? I am considering them, so any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I am currently going through a short protocol with high stims with another clinic, baseline scan showed 4-5 follicles (expected that as I have low AMH/low ovarian reserves) but through my high stimulation am only showing 1, maybe 2 follicles that are growing...so cycle is not looking great.

So I wanted to consider Create as they specialise in natural modified and mild IVF, but would appreciate feedback on people's experiences as we would be going in multi cycle with my low AFC/AMH and want to ensure it's the best decision in those circumstances.

Thanks!

Oh wow! That was so quick! Did you start the sticks on day 5? So collection was around day 10/11?

Stims even!

HopefulElle · 31/08/2023 07:05

@Doxy21 no I didn’t start stims right away, they were doing scans and bloods every other day from day 5 and told me when to start stims, which was a few days later in my case. Egg collection was day 15.

Sunflower360 · 31/08/2023 07:20

@Doxy21 that all sounds very positive! Fingers crossed for 3 eggs!

Ah, thanks @HopefulElle and thanks @Sunflower360 i would love 3 eggs. I’ve had 3 at my 2 other cycles which is why I was a bit upset that they said natural modified with the aim of getting 1 egg, rather than mild like my last round

reen80 · 31/08/2023 08:26

Thanks for much for your responses @Sunflower360 @Doxy21 @Woodcottage1

I haven't started yet... The quote came last Friday; I have to have an updated Smear test (booked privately today as NHS is saying 4 weeks), We need the HIV, Rubella tests and the other half needs his sperm mobility done. So trying to get those things done.

The diet advise looks good, and I just bought the book 'It starts with an egg'

Supplement wise, I have stocked up on (based on my weeks' frantic reseeach'

  • 600mcg CoQ10
  • 1000mcg B12 (My B12 is a little low from my last blood tests)
  • 500mcg folic acid
  • 4000 IU D3
  • 2200mg Fish Oil
  • 1000IU Vitamin E (not sure about this one - cant seem to find conclusive amounts)
  • 200mcg Selenium

Thoughts would be helpful. I have been reading lots on DHEA and have ordered some. Although I did read in some posts that CREATE asked people to stop?

Another query - I know they focus on the quality - but do they only collect ONE follicle? Of there are more will they collect? I will of course ask this when I follow up with the coordinator in St Pauls.

Good luck everyone and have a great day!

Doxy21 · 31/08/2023 08:54

If doing natural modified the aim is to grow the best naturally selected follicle but if there’s more that have grown and are ready my understanding is they will take those too but now I’m wondering if that’s right! Oh yeah, we had those tests at our previous clinic so have bypassed them this time which I’m glad about as it all just keeps adding to the cost!

Sunflower360 · 31/08/2023 09:01

No problem @reen80 DHEA be careful with, get tested for your hormone levels before taking it as research is mixed. In relation to egg collection, they extract any follicle over 14mm or so I was advised in my nurse consultation- so if you have more than one it will be collected. Reason they tend not to collect smaller follicles is they are highly likely to be immature eggs which is exactly what happened in my NHS cycle for 2 of my 4 as the follicle sizes for yhose were only 9mm, so I completely get Create's approach.

@Doxy21 I think they advise one egg to manage expectations, as in a natural cycle you would have one dominant and perhaps another 2nd follolicle. But I have read of people getting multiple eggs in natural modified

@Sunflower360 @Doxy21 @Woodcottage1 How many did you have collected in a Natural Modified cycle with CREATE? And what were you AMH and AFC levels?

Sunflower360 · 31/08/2023 12:17

@reen80 I was due to start with Create on this cycle; I am currently in very early stages of pregnancy though (without IVF) so will revisit starting the IVF if this does not work out, so cannot advise on that unfortunately at the moment.

Sunflower360 · 31/08/2023 12:18

@reen80 my AMH is 4.3 pmol and AFC was 6 in total on the baseline investigations with Create

Doxy21 · 31/08/2023 12:45

I haven’t had a collection with create yet.

At my previous clinic they told me I had 50% chance so I paid for 2 rounds.

I got: 3 eggs (but 1 was immature and 1 damaged so really 1 egg) which ended in 1 embryo (AMH of 13.1, AFC 11 and normal stims). They said they were shocked and didn’t expect that response.

My AMH was measured and had gone down to 4.3 in less than a year.

I did a round with max stims and my follicles didn’t respond at all so was abandoned. Meds were around £3k for that 1 round.

And then I got 3 eggs which ended in 1 embryo (mild stims).

So it seems I respond better to mild.

At create they suggested natural modified as they think natural modified and mild will be a similar response and natural modified is cheaper. But I can swap to mild for one or two of the 3 rounds if I want. I had 6 follicles at baseline so I was borderline for either. They didn’t check my AMH but they had my bloods from my old clinic. I assume my AFC must be 6. They’ve said my chance is 10%.

Had I stayed with my old clinic they would have done 2 back to back mild stims collections so I’m thinking the treatment isn’t too dissimilar.

That's amazing. Hope it works out well for you! Do you think your change in lifestyle when prepping for IVF helped?

Sunflower360 · 31/08/2023 13:23

@reen80 thank you! I do think it was possibly that, but can never really be sure to be honest. If anything I felt like I was doing something positive, hopefully it made a difference to egg quality!

I ought to add my OH was also on supplements. He was a mens Proceive, COQ10 400mg, 1000 Omega 3 and 1000 vitamin D. His morphology went from 2% back to normal levels of 4% in those 4 months, but they I understand that can fluctuate regardless

Hi @reen80 first round 2, second round 2, third round none. I have three blastocysts from these rounds. Started aged 42 I think and now 44. Personally I have had good reactions to Dhea.

Woodcottage1 · 31/08/2023 16:19

Oh my goodness, best of luck @Sunflower360. How amazing to have a natural pregnancy 🫶🤞🤞🤞

Sunflower360 · 31/08/2023 17:59

Thank you everyone, it is very early days. I have had some brown spotting so was not sure if it was a chemical....time will tell, but if it didn't will get on with Create!

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 01/09/2023 08:29

Looks like a chemical for me as I got a negative this morning (tested as I still have brown spotting despite a HCG blood test on Weds showing I had HCG to confirm pregnancy, albeit a low amount so I think it's gone down in the last 2 days), so back on the IVF train. Seeing if Create will let me start with this bleed (which I'm still waiting for) or next

Sunflower360 · 01/09/2023 10:07

@Woodcottage1 that sounds like a really good result to have 3 blastocyst. Have you transferred after your 2nd round then?

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 01/09/2023 10:10

@Woodcottage1 *meant transferred after 3rd round

Gosh I’m sorry @Sunflower360 hopefully it’s still early days and it shows positive tomorrow x
I did 3 rounds and then transfered an embryo last Wednesday. My first round 2 were collected and two went to blastocyst, second round 2 collected, one went to blastocyst and last round none collected. Fingers crossed 🤞 I think I’ll test about day 5 after transfer and see what’s happening x

Sunflower360 · 01/09/2023 14:39

@Woodcottage1 I'm not so sure as my symptoms have now gone, was feeling a bit of nausea Mon-yesterday morning but nothing now.

I have spoken to Create and they've advised as it's natutal modified IVF I can start when my AF comes, as its so early on and only had spotting so far. That would be confirmed in the day 5 scan though to ensure all was ok to proceed.

Hope you get a good result following your embryo transfer. Did you have them tested? Also is it possible to have double transfers or were you advised otherwise?
