Hi,
I’m just after some advice and to see whether anyone is in the same boat!
Just found out that my 3rd FET failed.
We are very lucky to have DD who came from our first fresh transfer. We were also very fortunate to get 5 frozen embryos from that round so have been trying for a sibling. 1st FET was BFN, 2nd was a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage and 3rd now is failed. Down to the last two and starting to feel the pressure and also wondering why on earth it isn’t working?!
We have unexplained infertility so nothing was ever found with our initial tests and I was 34 when we had out first IVF round so odds were in our favour. I read somewhere that at 34 around 50% of embryos are abnormal so I guess out our 6 maybe the last 3 were all abnormal. I’m also worried something has changed since I had to have a csection for DD. I did have an ultrasound which showed the scar had healed fine and there no niches, I’m wondering if there are adhesions that might not have been seen on the ultrasound though.
Would love to hear any advice for what to do next or from anyone else in a similar position. Thanks x

I hope everyone is doing OK?

Sorry to hear that @SErunner that must be very distressing. I am glad tomorrow isn’t a long wait. I hope it is still Ok. I have had bright red bleeding at week 9 and week 11 in my first pregnancy and it was fine. Whilst terrifying bleeding seems to be a normal part of first trimester. I am just wondering if there is anything they can do to support natural pregnancies? Like maybe check progesterone etc? Or are they expected to self-regulate?

I will be thinking of you and I hope it goes well.

No update from my side, just a waiting game until scan.

SErunner · 14/08/2024 09:46

Thank you both. The scan went well - measuring 8+4 which is pretty much bang on my cycle dates. In the right place, heartbeat strong. I've got a small haematoma which explains the bleeding. They've given me some progesterone pessaries to take up to 16 weeks as a precaution but were very kind and positive. In total shock to be honest.

@Edf so glad all looking okay for you. @Faith2024 will be thinking of you - when is your scan?

Faith2024 · 14/08/2024 10:11

@SErunner this makes me so happy! Congratulations I had a feeling it was OK but also nervous for you. I wish you a smooth & healthy pregnancy from here on.

My scan is on Monday. It will be 6 wks 5 days hopefully. I feel tired & constantly going for a pee but I read that’s a sign of hcg rising. I had morning sickness right about now the first time but I also know steroids suppress symptoms of morning sickness which I am very happy about since I had a rough time last time. Just a waiting game but overall feeling positive. Maybe naively so.

Edf · 14/08/2024 13:18

@SErunner this is such good news I’m so happy for you!
thanks 😊 18 weeks tomorrow, found out last week we’re having another little girl so feeling like I can believe it will happen a bit more 😊

@Faith2024 congrats and good luck for the scan- I’m sure everything is perfect!

Faith2024 · 19/08/2024 16:34

Thank you @Edf . I had the scan today at 6wks6days and all looks good. Saw strong little heartbeat so feeling happy and hopeful it will last.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Edf · 19/08/2024 18:59

@Faith2024 aw lovely news so happy for you! 💕

loulamay · 22/08/2024 11:57

Massive congrats @SErunner and @Faith2024 ! that's such wonderful news!

Sorry I haven't read back over old messages but hope everyone is doing ok! I had my embryo transfer of a lovely 4AA blast on Tuesday so I'm in the dreaded 2WW! Was really quite emotional to be at the point of transfer again after all the failures of my own cycles this past year. We have also just had the amazing news that they have frozen 5 more with grades AA and one AB which is fantastic (although hoping this one sticks!).

Sending lots of love around the country and would love to hear any more updates. x

loulamay · 22/08/2024 11:58

@Edf a girl :-) 😍👧how are you feeling? did you have morning sickness?

SErunner · 22/08/2024 12:18

@Faith2024 ❤️ so so pleased to hear this.

@Edf also thrilled all going well for you and so lovely to have another girl!

@loulamay that's amazing news! This is your DE embryo? How fantastic to have so many in the freezer, but yes hopefully they wont be needed! Understandable to be emotional, you've been on a long old journey. Wishing you all the luck in the next few weeks and hope it doesn't go too slowly for you x

I'm 10 weeks now and assuming things are okay. Still feel sick and knackered which hopefully is a good sign. Waiting on my date for 12 week scan - if it's the week after next I'll hold out but if it's not until the week after I think I might have a private scan next week. I've had a bit of brown spotting but no more bleeding so far 🤞

loulamay · 22/08/2024 12:29

yes! we got 12 donor eggs so to have 6 embryos in total is pretty amazing! Better than my old duds 😆

Just takes the pressure off a bit that if this one doesn't stick, we have more that we can try!

Loute02 · 24/08/2024 13:13

Hello ladies! Glad to have found this thread.
I'm currently 4dp5dt for a sibling for my little boy born in 2022.
I started my IVF journey in 2022 due to male factor infertility and low AMH. Got very very lucky with a BFP on my first fresh cycle. Then in January 2024 I did another fresh cycle but had to do a freeze all. First FET in May ending in BFN and here I am in the 2ww of my second FET. I already feel that I'm going crazy with symptoms spotting and not feeling anything out of the ordinary 😅 The only thing that is painful are the Lubion injections. I start to have bruises around my belly. I am very grateful to have my son already but I would love to be able to give him a sibling. Looking forward to hearing how everyone is doing!

loulamay · 24/08/2024 16:24

Welcome @Loute02 ! I am also in the 2WW and also symptom spotting (some mild cramps and backache and then a tiny bit of pink today when I wiped - stupidly hoping it might be implantation spotting). When will be your test day? I am 6dp5dt on Monday and am a chronic early tester so will be a marvel if I last until then.

loulamay · 24/08/2024 16:25

Also on Lubion plus Clexane and am a human pin cushion 😫

Loute02 · 24/08/2024 19:42

Hi @loulamay ! We must be transfer buddies! I have my FET on Tuesday and they told me to wait until the 31st to test 😱 it's next Saturday so might wait until then if I can. Is the Clexane the same as the aspirin? Is that also by injections?

loulamay · 24/08/2024 20:02

yes, I also had my transfer on the 20th! They also told me to do a home test on the 31st. Not on your life 😆But if you can hold out then good for you! I would rather know - if my home test is negative by 8dpt then I'm pretty sure I'm out.

Clexane is a blood thinner that's administered by injection, but I'm also on baby aspirin! and Lubion injection in the morning, plus three Utrogestan pessaries a day, and estrogen patches and tablets... what fun!

loulamay · 26/08/2024 09:11

Hope everyone is well. I caved and tested today on 6dp6dt - stark white! Was a clear blue early as well so sensitivity is 10ml hcg. I know it's fairly early still but I had a faint line with my daughter on this day and so just feeling pretty deflated. x

Loute02 · 26/08/2024 14:00

@loulamay you're not out yet! It is still very early. Are you going to test again tomorrow or wait until Wednesday?
Hope you have something good planned today to keep yourself busy.

loulamay · 28/08/2024 12:52

Still getting negative FRER tests so I'm calling it! Had really hoped to be sharing good news this time but back to the drawing board and another transfer. Hard to know if it's just a numbers game or something else but will see what the clinic says. My lining was a bit crap but improved when we introduced estrogen patches rather than the oral tablets, so hoping we will start off with patches from the beginning this time and maybe get a better result. SO frustrating - my body has done this once. Why can't it do it again?!

Faith2024 · 30/08/2024 19:41

@loulamay I am sorry to hear that. It’s so frustrating when there is no known cause. Ir’s good that you have more to try though. Give yourself some time.

@Loute02 I hope you are Ok regardless of the outcome.

SErunner · 30/08/2024 20:10

Oh @loulamay I am sorry. Have you tested again? The frustration is unbearable isn't it. The amount of times I've yelled internally 'just get yourself together' 😢 it is so much of a numbers game and you've got plenty to try with, albeit being so costly and upsetting when it doesn't work. Hopefully they can take some learning from this cycle like you say.

@Loute02 how are you getting on? Welcome to the thread. We're a mixed bunch on here at different stages but I find it so helpful to come back to. We had our daughter in 2021 after conceiving via IVF following 2 years TTC with no joy. Did 3 unsuccessful rounds last year for a sibling with no success. Was getting to a decision earlier this year of stopping trying altogether when I fell pregnant naturally (first time ever in 7 odd years off contraception) but unfortunately miscarried. Only to fall pregnant naturally again almost immediately. Currently 11 weeks and bricking it for my scan next week. After all this a positive outcome just feels impossible but we shall see. Wishing you well with this transfer 🤞🤞🤞

Loute02 · 30/08/2024 21:02

Thanks @Faith2024 and @SErunner I tested this morning (a day early) and got a BFP 😊 really pleased and hopeful it will stick!

loulamay · 02/09/2024 10:51

Congrats @Loute02 !

Chatted to the clinic (took one more test and obvs negative) and we're going to go ahead after this cycle with the next try. She suggested a double embryo transfer but given my age we're too nervous about the risks and so we're just going to do another single. She also wants to add steroids to the protocol this time and I'll be doing vaginal estrogen as well as patches to hopefully boost my lining thickness - everything I read shows pretty low odds with a lining under 7.5mm so if we can get that up then maybe that will help.

Feeling ok - just hate the way time ticks on and I'm still not pregnant. Hey ho!

SErunner · 05/09/2024 11:27

That's lovely news @Loute02 👏 how are you feeling?

@loulamay how are you doing? Thinking of you, it must be a difficult time x

I had good news yesterday - 12 week scan was all good. Due in March. It feels very surreal but anxiety definitely settling. I've been told to stay on the progesterone until 16 weeks.

Faith2024 · 08/09/2024 08:24

That’s amazing news @SErunner , very happy for you. I am not far behind, April due date but given that I will have an elective second c section it will probably be end of March. I will have my 12 week scan in 2 weeks. I can’t wait.

Edf · 08/09/2024 08:36

@SErunner it’s so good to here that! Especially after such a long arduous journey 💕
