IVF/ICSI/FET May 2023

Hi, I don't think there's a thread for May, not that I could find anyway.

I've just started Norethisterone to bring on AF ready for my FET. I had my ICSI cycle in Feb but was high risk for OHSS, so after retrieving 24 eggs, this clinic decided to freeze all.
Luckily, because I ended up very unwell with OHSS for around 6 weeks and ended up in hospital for a little while!

But I've recovered and soooo ready for my embabies! We're aiming for transfer week commencing 22nd May unless AF comes earlier than planned then it might be the week before. It's likely as I'm on CD46 with all the signs of imminent AF 🤞🏼

If anyone else is cycling in May please feel free to share the journey ✨

@Quickdraw23 they have been good so far- how are you finding abc? X

@Sunflower360 I started in Jan and have done two cycles so far with 3D this month. You have to wait for your period after your withdrawal bleed before you can start again

costs - for the 3 rounds, icsi, plus one transfer inc standard meds (no extra genetic testing) it’s was about £16.5k - can’t remember exact figure. They have finance packages and we have been able to get interest free monthly payments with them.

Create I think do mild and natural modified. I am doing mild but their website explains the difference. They also do a free weekly webinar - we went on this before we had a consultation as they gave a lot of info x

Sunflower360 · 09/05/2023 20:41

Thanks @LF82 that is really helpful. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is a 3D cycle?

LF82 · 09/05/2023 20:49

@Sunflower360 sorry typo! I meant to say ‘3rd’ cycle is this month! 🤣🙈

Sunflower360 · 09/05/2023 20:50

@LF82 ah ok makes sense now 😂

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 09:44

This is my test from this morning. Going to wait a few days now to see if they get darker - this does seem darker than yesterday's test.

How is everyone getting on?

@Infertilitylife that's amazing!! Pre-emptive congratulations 🥰 looking forward to seeing that line get darker for you.
I'm ok, I'm off for my scan shortly.

@Infertilitylife That's a good line!

@Sj2505 Good luck with the scan :)

Sj2505 · 10/05/2023 09:54

@TheBirdintheCave thank you! How are you feeling today? Will you get an update this morning?

@Sj2505 That's definitely a sign! :D

I feel a bit bloated and very sore but it's not too horrible. We should get a call about fertilisation any time now. Very scary.

Sj2505 · 10/05/2023 10:11

@TheBirdintheCave get lots of water and protein into you and pee as much as you can.
I have everything crossed for your call 🤞🏼

@Sj2505 I hope your scan goes ok :) that is definitely a sign!

@TheBirdintheCave 25 eggs is amazing!! Fingers crossed that you get a good number of mature ones. The waiting is horrible isn't it. Will you be doing a freeze all?

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 10:16

@Quickdraw Your getaway sounds lovely – it’s good to relax as much as you can. When should CD1 make an appearance?

@Caubabatko Wishing for good news today about your cultivation 😊

@kingster1 I also had my treatment in Prague – at Fertility Port. It is a lot emotionally isn’t it. Praying for your 6 follicles.

Caubabatko · 10/05/2023 10:36

@kingster1 Oh, looks like we just missed each other, we flew out on Sunday😂I got a few extra blood tests done in a local lab for nutrition management purposes,

@Sj2505 We're still undecided whether to transfer in the next cycle or go for another EC to bank good embryos while I'm youngest because my advanced maternal age (43) would mean statistically you would need to transfer 10 to get one baby!
Looks like none of the survivors have formed a blastocysts yet - never thought each day feels so long, can't imagine what it'll be like to be in 2WW!

@Quickdraw23 Pessaries sounds better than injections!
BTW I know exactly how you feel waiting for your CD1, mine was 4 days later than what I calculated based on my BBT chart. It was already nerve wracking because of the planned time off work and it impacted my DH's work days too since we are doing it abroad.

kingster1 · 10/05/2023 10:41

@Sj2505 wow that is such a beautiful sign! How ironic! Good luck.
@Infertilitylife Congrats on your test. 😍I was very impressed with fertility port, we just went with IVF clinic in Olomouc because fertility port wanted to do embryo testing which I did not want to do. But I found the consultant Dr Vlek and the coordinator really good at fertility port when we had consultation with them. How long were you in Prague for? I have another scan here on Friday and possible egg collection on Sunday. Currently sitting in an apartment in Olomouc, watching netflix. Nice to be away actually. Kind of in our own little IVF bubble and cant be stressed by everyday life stuff. such a rollercoaster. I am reading people having 20+ follicles, and I have 6. My right ovary had follicles that grew before but nothing this time. Although my right ovary likely damaged from endometriosis, which I only found out I had last year.

TheBirdintheCave · 10/05/2023 10:46

@Infertilitylife Unfortunately it will be a freeze all, yes :(

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 10:53

@kingster1 Dr Vleck was my doctor, he really put me at ease throughout so that's the main reason we went there. We were originally in Prague for 12 days when we had our egg collection but had to have a freeze all. We went back to Prague on the 3rd May, had our transfer on the morning of the 4th and then flew home the same night.

To be honest, follicles don't mean much in my experience. I had over 30 follicles but only ended up with four eggs being collected. Hopefully, your right ovary has some follicles when it's next checked. I hope your scan on Friday goes ok :) try and rest and relax now.

@Quickdraw23 When will you be hoping to transfer? Mine was a freeze all which I was gutted about but it does give you time to recover before having your transfer :)

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 10:54

Sorry quoted the wrong person above!

TheBirdintheCave · 10/05/2023 11:29

@Infertilitylife As soon as possible which is unfortunately looking like early July as I stupidly booked a holiday for June after my last miscarriage.

Infertilitylife · 10/05/2023 11:39

@TheBirdintheCave at least you should be able to have a relaxing holiday before all the madness starts again.

TheBirdintheCave · 10/05/2023 11:45

@Infertilitylife I'm just angry with myself for doing something so stupid to be honest. I don't think I'm going to enjoy the holiday at all as I'd rather have a shot at being pregnant again.

Anyway, no call from embryology yet (they have 15 mins left) so I guess nothing fertilised so there won't be a transfer anyway.

TheBirdintheCave · 10/05/2023 12:29

We have 21 embryos, maybe 22 (they're going to check that one tomorrow). I'm so pleased I can't believe it 😭

Sj2505 · 10/05/2023 12:46

We have the go ahead 🤩

I was so anxious as the spotting completely stopped yesterday, so I thought that was my "period" finished and we'd missed it. But then I bled a little this morning again 🤯
They needed the lining to be <5mm and it was 3.9! I'm so happy.
Started my oestrogen meds for 8 days now. Next scan on Thursday 18th to make sure the lining is nice and thick for transfer on Thursday 25th - my sons birthday 🥰

@TheBirdintheCave that's amazing!! Will you get a day 3 update?

Quickdraw23 · 10/05/2023 12:49

@LF82 found them to be good so far, clear comms and our pt co-ordinator was very helpful up to know. Hopefully it continues now we’re at the crunch part!

@Caubabatko definitely preferable to injections!

@Infertilitylife CD1 due to start tomorrow, absolutely no symptoms today but then I don’t always get them!

great news @TheBirdintheCave !! So pleased for you.
