IVF/ICSI/FET May 2023

Hi, I don't think there's a thread for May, not that I could find anyway.

I've just started Norethisterone to bring on AF ready for my FET. I had my ICSI cycle in Feb but was high risk for OHSS, so after retrieving 24 eggs, this clinic decided to freeze all.
Luckily, because I ended up very unwell with OHSS for around 6 weeks and ended up in hospital for a little while!

But I've recovered and soooo ready for my embabies! We're aiming for transfer week commencing 22nd May unless AF comes earlier than planned then it might be the week before. It's likely as I'm on CD46 with all the signs of imminent AF 🤞🏼

In A&E as pain one sided and fairly unbearable. Cannot believe this is happening, today was the first day I felt relaxed after BETA yesterday

@MaybeBabyTwo i hope you are ok. Usually there are early pregnancy units you could call if you can’t get hold of your clinic? I think it can be common to bleed in early pregnancy too xxx

Thank you. Big bleed and passed a clot which I think might have been the baby 😔 pain has stopped and bleeding has eased. Waiting for a scan and more blood results. Thank you all for being there, sorry to bring negativity to what was a really positive run of posts.

@MaybeBabyTwo I am so so sorry this has happened to you. When is your scan? Will be thinking of you x

Sometime today when they can get a sonographer, though it sounds like the whole hospital is fighting over just the one because it's a Sunday so I might be some time. Hopefully my BETA comes back sooner which should give me some indication.

I hope they get to you soon and you get some answers. Are you still at the hospital?

BETA is not great, lower than they'd like it to be. They're going to redo at the full 48hrs but it still isn't looking good unfortunately. Unbearable when Friday's results were so much better than good. Friday was 838, last nights 1076 which even adjusting for only needing 66% increase and that it was only 36hrs, still not quite there. Waiting for sonographer now.

I'm certain our transfer hasn't worked as I've started having some bleeding today, fairly fresh blood as if my period is trying to start and more than just spotting. This transfer felt different to the last from the beginning so I'm not overly surprised but obviously disappointed. I know I have to keep taking the progesterone until OTD but it just seems so futile.

Oh no, sorry you are having some bleeding @SErunner. Would you expect your period to start around now? My cycles are all over the place so I wouldn’t even know when to expect it.
I have read so many times that some bleeding throughout the start of the pregnancy is completely normal. Would you potentially test a little early to help you know either way?

My periods are all over the place too so I don't know to be honest! But I just can't believe with this type and amount of bleeding it can be anything other than that, and the progesterone is probably just keeping it from starting properly. I guess I could be wrong but feel that's pretty unlikely.

I might test early but in some ways would rather wait until OTD, as I will need to continue to then regardless and would rather just have the definitive answer.

How are you getting on?

@MaybeBabyTwo really sorry to read this and hope you’re holding up ok. Are they keeping you in till they do an ultrasound?

@SErunner oh no that sounds so worrying. I think we are on the same timeline? If so could it be implantation bleed? Or could it be a sign you need more progesterone?

Thanks all. Scan was inconclusive as so early but BETA had dropped to 400 so miscarriage confirmed. I'm devastated. Wishing you all the best x

My bleeding seemed to stop yesterday evening and I haven't had any overnight. Panicked I missed a progesterone yesterday morning but counted up and I've used the right amount. I'm so confused. Perhaps it was implantation bleeding, but it was so heavy?

@SErunner I'm clearly not a reassuring example right now, but I did bleed lots in a previous pregnancy that led to my daughter, so I know not to assume that bleeding means you're out. It is definitely worth continuing until OTD. It could just be a significant implantation bleed. Keep us informed x

Thanks both. I've had some pink/brown discharge again this morning but not that much and nothing like yesterday. Can't help but feel negative about it but will try to stay positive! It's all such a rollercoaster isn't it. I always find these last few days of the TWW the worst.
