Hi all,

I'm about to start my first IVF ICSI cycle. I expect to start my stims next week and all being well will have a fresh transfer in April.

Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

We are doing frozen, so not too sure just yet. After the two triggers, the clinic said I need to get back to normal before they will transfer.

I bet the cold has come as build up of all of the stress. Rest up and I have everything crossed that this is your time xx

VioletCookie · 29/05/2023 21:57

@Flower356 create didn't make us wait too long for an FET, as soon as I bled from the EC we could start. Hopefully you feel normal soon and not too long to wait! Will you transfer 1 embryo or 2?

Thank you lovely, I really hope so too. I hope we all get the news we've been waiting for this year 🙏🏼 x

Flower356 · 30/05/2023 12:12

I think I would have been the same but will miss this time due to hols. Its been so intense, I don't mind having a little break to be honest.

My clinic only does one embryo for under 35s, so hopefully that's enough!

I hope you're feeling a bit better today xx

VioletCookie · 30/05/2023 12:55

@Flower356 yes Create are the same, I'm 35 now and keep asking for 2 but they say only 1 under 40! Holiday will be fab and just what you need. Hopefully the last one before being a mummy 🤞🏼

Bit better today thanks, work is keeping my mind occupied! Xx

VioletCookie · 31/05/2023 19:17

Had our day 10 scan today for FET, which we were assuming transfer would be next week.

Straight away the nurse said 'did you know you have a polyp? This was on your scan a year ago and it's still there?'

We were told I possibly had a polyp last June, but the consultant reviewed it and said it wasn't. Since then no one has mentioned it again.. until today. So we've got another scan tomorrow but with the consultant.

She's 99% sure we won't be having a transfer and I'll need join the wait list for a hysteroscopy. All I can think of is how it probably caused all 3 miscarriages, how we could have sorted this a year ago and how we've spent thousands on IVF we perhaps didn't need to spend. I'm angry, sad, scared, exhausted and totally fed up. Everytime we take one step forward, there's a some more bad news 😔

I'm worried we've wasted a year and had all that heartache for something that could have been resolved! Scan at 11am tomorrow so we'll see what they say 😩

Flower356 · 01/06/2023 08:20

@VioletCookie I'm so sorry to hear this I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now.

I hope today gives you some proper answers so you know where to go from here xx

Flowerlover010 · 01/06/2023 08:59

@VioletCookie we are all thinking of you. Hope you get some answers today.

VioletCookie · 01/06/2023 13:59

Bad news for us, our Monday transfer has been cancelled 😔 sods law I've now got a small polyp and 3 semi polyps (Dr called them bumps?) and the risk is too high to waste a PGT-A normal embryo. I wish we'd opted to have a hysteroscopy back in April as the lead time was June/July so we'd be nearly there. So now we'll have to wait and see when we can be fit in. Feeling deflated and fed up of the constant fertility battle. My best friend is having her 2nd baby in September (2 in the time we've been TTC!) I'm dreading the baby shower and was desperate to be pregnant by that point. I'm so exhausted from it all.

charja100 · 01/06/2023 21:17

@VioletCookie I'm so so sorry that you're having to go through this. It's such a long and painful journey not made any easier by the fact that everyone's lives continues around us while we're stuck in limbo.
Be kind to yourself. I hope you don't have long to wait xxx

@Flower356 congratulations on your embryos. Such great grades. I have everything crossed for you.

Thanks for the nudge on the reward flights. I wasn't able to use our companion voucher thus I managed to get flights with out points! Feel very lucky to have made something work. Will either be a good opportunity to rest if pregnant or get over another failed round of it hadn't worked out either way. ,

@Flowerlover010 how was EC? How are you feeling?

Flowerlover010 · 02/06/2023 07:13

@VioletCookie so so sorry you've had your transfer cancelled and its another delay for you. What i will say is i had a big delay for this pgta appointment and you will be surprised how quickly it will come around again. Can relate to the friend on her 2nd, its the same with mine. Except my 1st pregnancy was at the same time as her 2nd and i thought we'd be doing it together. Its such a hard struggle for us and so so easy for others isnt it.
@charja my egg collection wasnt great itself. I was supposedly sedated only it didnt really work for me. I was awake, aware of things going on and in so much pain i was crying out. They gave me gas n air but that didnt do an awful lot. Was a bit of an ordeal for me. They did however surprise me with 8 eggs after down playing it on monday. Yesterday all 8 matured and 5 fertilised. I so badly need as many as possible to make it to monday to be able to be tested for pgta but i am realistic about it and know some will dop off. Chances are i wont have any/many to test. My next plan is to try naturally for a bit. Give myself a break then maybe reconsider another round in winter where i know they would then give me a higher dose stim. Thats if i do feel up to going through this all again.
How are you doing?

charja100 · 02/06/2023 08:28

@Flowerlover010 oh no that really does sound such an ordeal. I'm sorry that happened to you. Are you feeling okay after the EC or are you still quite tender? Thankfully I was out cold for mine, but as they really struggled to reach my left ovary. I was pretty battered and bruised after and in a lot of pain for a few days. Hopefully you're not in too much pain? That's brilliant news on your collection number and the conversion of mature eggs, and a good fertilisation rate too. I have everything crossed that they all make it to day 5 for you.

I'm okay thanks, I've just been sat here waiting for the last few months. First waiting for a bleed in between after my chemical from my fresh and then for my drugs to arrive for our FET. They all came yesterday, so starting to feel real again now. I must say I wanted to just get on with it and was frustrated to need to have the bleed in between. But actually, the space has given me a break form it all which has really helped my mental health and I'm ready to go again now. Now I'm waiting for day 21 (11th June) to start down reg, then we get back on the train and go again.

Really hoping for good news for you on Monday

@charja100 i felt sore yesterday and today a bit tender so i guess thats normal. I can relate to having the break being a good thing. After this i feel i could do with a bit of a break really especially from the injections which i still have to keep doing until my bleed (im on blood thinners) they are real stingers and definitely the worst jab of all of them ive had to do. There is a possibility that if i only have 1 im not going to test it and just transfer straight away but mentally i wasnt prepared to do that so i dont know i guess i have to see how it plays out and how i feel. Its actually triggering for me to be pregnant now even though thats ultimately what i want and the thought i might be transferring now rather than a couple of months down the line is panicking me a bit! I just wanted to kind of get my head round it first!

VioletCookie · 03/06/2023 10:52

@charja100 there's certainly a lot of waiting around isn't there! Glad you've been able to get your head ready for this next transfer though. I really hope this one works for you 🙏🏼

We've got a call with the Dr at Create today. He gave us 3 options on Thursday.. have a transfer next week with the polyps and hope for the best (although he didn't want to do this and we also said no way), do a natural cycle next month and hope I bleed out the polyps, or option 3 have a hysteroscopy. We've opted for the hysteroscopy incase there's anything else happening in my uturus causing the miscarriages. The wait times are so long but I managed to find someone more local to us who has a consultation cancellation for Tuesday! And they can potentially fit me in end June for the procedure 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Flower356 · 03/06/2023 16:12

@Flowerlover010 I hope you're feeling a bit better now - it sounds very traumatic.

Great results though!

@VioletCookie I'm glad you've got some options and I know all of the waiting is terrible but the end of June will fly round!

charja100 · 04/06/2023 15:43

@Flowerlover010 yes very normal to feel tender I found it started to subside after 4-5 days. How are you feeling ahead of tomorrow?

@VioletCookie so so so so much waiting! How did the call with the doctor at create go yesterday? Do you have any update on timings? Will you be able to keep it moving and get the timings you hoped for, i.e., Tuesday and June? Have everything crossed for you that you don't need to wait! 🤞🏼

@Flower356 Did you have a nice holiday?! How are you feeling now, do you feel back to yourself and like your body hormones might be regulating? Have you got any idea on when you'll do your FET?

OP posts:
VioletCookie · 04/06/2023 18:05

@charja100 the call was fine thank you, more of a formality to say we're having a hysteroscopy with someone else and could they share my ultrasound report with them, which was fine. He said we should try a natural cycle rather than mild next time to hopefully avoid polyps again! Not sure if the success rate varies so need to read into it, but I'm guessing not by much. How's the wait going for day 21, still feeling good? X

@Flower356 have you been on your holiday yet? How was it?! X

girljulian · 04/06/2023 18:15

Hi everyone, was interested to see how everyone is getting on!

My consultant had some ideas for our next FET, one of which was that I should have Zoladex injections to make sure my womb isn’t inflamed. He wants me to be on this for at least two months before we try the transfer, so I’m going to book in for the injection after I get back from my holiday (21 June) — don’t want to be dealing with side effects on my break! Meaning the next FET will be August I suppose.

Flowerlover010 · 04/06/2023 21:54

@charja100 im feeling apprehensive as i feel a bit like tomorrow isnt going to be a straightforward decision as we all know ivf likes to throw us some surprises!

Flower356 · 04/06/2023 22:30

@VioletCookie @charja100 holiday was lovely thanks- it came at a very good time definitely needed a break. It will be end of June/beginning of July for the FET. I'm sure it won't make much difference, but I'm going to spend the next few weeks being super healthy and trying to keep my stress levels low. Anything to try and get us in the best position for the FET to be successful!

Flowerlover010 · 05/06/2023 10:47

Hey girls so i knew today wasnt going to be straightforward for me. They said i have 2 blastos that are good enough to be tested and there are 2 more embryos in the running which they are allowed to wait until day 6 and 7 for! So i have gone ahead with testing the 2 with the hope that at least 1 or hopefully 2 more catch up and can be tested also! I always had said if i get more than 1 i have to test. I just wish there were more knowing that usually 50% will be abnormal. It was very tempting to just transfer one today as they said they are 2 good quality blastos but with my history i just cant do it to myself. So now 2 more restless nights and they will then get sent off all together on weds to be tested and its roughly a two week wait from there for the results! Then if im lucky to transfer any im guessing it would be around August time? No idea how long FET takes or what the process is. Now got to wait for my EC bleed and i can finally stop injecting and have a break! And give my bruised belly a break too! And im also going to have a large drink!!

Flower356 · 05/06/2023 11:59

Congratulations on the high quality blastos and I've got everything crossed for you that the others can be tested too and you get the outcome you are looking for.

It really sounds like you've really been through it, so enjoy that extra large drink and plan some nice things for the next couple of weeks.

Flowerlover010 · 05/06/2023 15:08

@Flower356 thank you. That's it youve just got to enjoy life as much you can and not let the ivf take over. Im going to keep busy and hopefully the time will fly by.

VioletCookie · 05/06/2023 17:45

@Flowerlover010 congratulations on your blasto and fingers crossed for these remaining 2 also! Going from my experience with Create, if you have your results back in 2 weeks then you could potentially have the FET in July. However Create have never asked me to have a EC bleed then regular period whereas I know some places do! Perhaps aim for August and see what they say when your results are in. What grade were your blastos at?

Agree with the large drink! Since the FET was cancelled all I can think of is drinking at a festival we're going to this weekend, it's been so long since I had one 🤣

VioletCookie · 05/06/2023 17:49

@Flower356 glad you had a lovely break, it's so difficult to plan holidays around IVF but so worth it when you can get away! I hope you feel recharged and ready for the FET? I don't think there's such thing as too late to make a difference! If you're prepping your body then that's great, it will also help you mentally prepare too... less stress and getting your head ready will 100% help! 🤞🏼
