Hi all,

I'm about to start my first IVF ICSI cycle. I expect to start my stims next week and all being well will have a fresh transfer in April.

Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

@Flowerlover010 if it's Friday what happens with hubbys sample? Will he go in with it before?

@Flower356 nice to see you back. Congratulations on egg collection and 4 embryos at day 3! I was really bloated after egg collection. I was advised lots of water to help with bloating. Will you be doing fresh or frozen transfer? I did fresh and was told the progesterone also contributes to the bloating. Again I was told lots of water!

@charja100 well i haven't spoken to the clinic about it yet until we know exactly what day it will be. Im going to see if it will be ok for him to go to clinic first thing when they open and do his bit if it does end up being friday. I dont know how long it can be held for or what time id be in anyway yet.

@Flower356 it sounds a little like OHSS maybe because you had to have 2 trigger shots? I think @VioletCookie has had OHSS maybe you have any further advise? X

Hey @Flower356, congratulations on your embryos at day 3! Let us know how they get on. I had OHSS on both egg collections and it took around 7-10 days to go. Are you having a fresh transfer? Create wouldn't let me with OHSS, so I could safely use hot water bottles and had a warm bath (even though they said to avoid for a week). Also had peppermint tea, wore lose clothes and drank lots of water. Sorry I can't offer much more advice! It's so flipping uncomfortable, plus I looked about 4 months pregnant 😩 hope it passes soon for you! X

No fresh transfer for me, the clinic said after the two trigger injections and egg collections, I needed to let my body get back to normal to increase the chances of success. As you say its just uncomfortable!

I think everything happens for a reason, I'm off on my hols tomorrow, so maybe i was meant to just enjoy one last trip so I'm trying not to feel too disappointed we aren't doing a fresh transfer.

I'm knocking back the water and peppermint tea so hopefully it goes away soon!

@Flower356 sounds like a good plan. Rest and relax and get yourself in the best place for when u do transfer

@Flower356 I hope you have a lovely holiday! Hubby and I didn't book anything this year as it was so hard to predict timings with the cycles. But we've now decided we're going to look at something now for after our next FET. I think I'll need a break if we're not successful. I'm just trying to decide what a good time is to go away after transfer... has anyone had any guidance?

I was originally going to do a fresh transfer and that would have been the Wednesday and I went away on the Friday. I checked with the clinic and they said it made no difference at all. I guess it's what you feel comfortable with - my view was the two week wait is going to be really stressful so I might as well do something nice. I do understand why people would feel worried/anxious to be away from home in that time though xx

@charja100 i was going to say the same as @Flower356 id try be on holiday for the 2 week week wait, you might as well, would be something nice to take the time up and keep your mind busy.

Thank you fingers crossed it all falls into place. I have my scan Monday so will know more then. Been having a sore lower belly last few days now and feeling bloated so id say something is definitely going on down there!

Thanks for your thoughts on the holiday @Flower356 @Flowerlover010 sadly that's exactly what I was thinking. Unfortunately I can't take that time off as my colleague is already off on leave over the dates for 11 days and I won't get approval to be off the same time.

It's so hard to predict what do do. We might have to wait until last minute if I can't work it out. I'm estimating my transfer will be a time from 7 July but it all depends how my body reacts to the medication. I'm thinking I might book something for the beginning of August. I want to try to use my reward points for our flights and there's not much choice as availability is limited. Might need to just change it.

@charja100 its so hard to plan anything really isnt it. Thats why life always feels on hold doesnt it!

Everybody feels different but I know how I feel now, I want something to look forward to that's outside of the IVF. I want to have things booked to keep myself busy. We've had a nightmare trying to use reward flights, so I would recommend looking for August now!

Hi all. So i had my 2nd scan today and cant help but feel really disappointed and pretty confused. I had a high AMH of 31 but that was nearly 1 yr and half ago now. I was put on a very low dose of stims as they were so worried of me getting OHSS when in fact its the opposite which was my worry. I only had 6 folicles that were at the right size for collection. I know everyone says it only takes 1 and its quality over quantity but i clearly dont have good quality due to having 3 miscarriages but i thought id at least have quantity as i was hoping to do PGTA testing and have enough to make it to day 5 to test. That's not looking so likely now. I dont know how i feel about doing a whole other round again. The only plus was my collection is going to be weds as they want to press on with it because 4 of them were quite large and my husband can be there Wednesday so thats good. It will also all be over soon. Just 2 more injections tonight then i have a day break and start the blood thinners again after EC on weds.

Allow yourself to feel disappointed today, give you yourself a treat or do something you like this evening. You are allowed to feel how you do. 6 is still good and a couple more days for some to get bigger potentially!

@Flower356 yes ive just bought myself some massive chocolate biscuits coz ive got a feeling im gonna need them over the next few days!

All 4 made it and two were 5AA. We are so happy - after the trigger not working and losing four follicles because of this, and me not having loads in the first place I was so worried. Still a long way to go, it's all such a roller coaster isn't it.

Thank you - 3BC and 2BC I don't really know what that means, but to be honest ive spent far too much time on google with this and sometimes less information is better. I don't want to get my hopes up just yet, its all such a journey but its made me feel better after the first failed egg collection. How are you doing? xx

@Flower356 BC's are good! I would say focus on the fact that 4 made it to blasto too, they wont freeze any they dont believe will work. The external grading doesn't say what the internal quality is, so really it can be an good chance with all! I have friends who've had babies with CC grades. When is your transfer? Sorry if you've said already!

I'm not great today tbh 😅 have been full of cold all weekend so I'm convinced it's going to ruin the FET. We have our first scan on Weds to check lining. Plus I'm so scared that this is our 4th transfer and I can't handle much more heartache! Xx
