Hi all,

I'm about to start my first IVF ICSI cycle. I expect to start my stims next week and all being well will have a fresh transfer in April.

Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

@Flowerlover010 it sounds like you've done everything possible to make this work 🤞🏼 I have antiphospholipid syndrome which is blood clotting but not hereditary. My colleague has factor 5 and only found out after 3 MCs and 2 Eptopics, she then carried a healthy IVF pregnancy with the meds. As you say with the PGT-A also you're really doing all you can to eliminate risk!

So the NHS told me I had a subseptate uturus and would need surgery as I'm high risk of MC. They put me over to the IVF clinic who have said its arcuate and have been saying this every month since July, so I'm really confused! I had a call with the consultant today, he reviewed the scans and said again he's happy to proceed. So I guess we'll see what happens!

I had a breakdown this morning but have spent time with the girls and feel a lot better for it x

Flowerlover010 · 20/05/2023 16:06

@VioletCookie ohmygod that must be confusing for you to be told two different things! I just did a quick Google and im pretty confident one of my friend has subseptate, because she said she discovered its like she has 2 wombs, she got told she would have problems but no, she has had 2 healthy natural pregnancies with no problems whatsoever. I think if the ivf clinic have done several scans id feel more comfortable with what they say. Its difficult not to worry though i completely understand why you will be.
What are the next steps for you now? I have everything crossed for you

VioletCookie · 21/05/2023 20:26

@Flowerlover010 they arent sure if i have a septum down the middle, but the consultant is happy to go ahead as thinks its more likely arcute. Apparently if the embryo implants on the septum, there's no blood flow and it can't develop and can be the cause of recurrent miscarriage. I'm stressing so much! But as I say if it happens again we'll have to pay for the hysteroscopy 🙈 AF due any day so waiting for that then another FET 🙏🏼 just praying it sticks real good this time!

Flowerlover010 · 21/05/2023 20:32

@VioletCookie can totally understand your stressing. Its huge anxiety to go through it again.
Whats the process now then for FET? I have everything crossed for you!
P.s. you were right about the injections, literally feels like nothing compared to the inxhia!

VioletCookie · 21/05/2023 22:45

@Flowerlover010 amazing well done! Was your hubby with you or is he away atm? I bet it all feels so real now doesn't it!

So AF has literally just arrived, which makes tomorrow day 1! Start Inhixa and some of the meds on day 2, scan around day 10-12 so we'll see how my lining looks. Once its OK the transfer will be 5 days later 😬 I'm so on edge about remembering all the new meds I now can't sleep! My mind is in overdrive 😅🤣

Flowerlover010 · 21/05/2023 22:52

@VioletCookie oh so its roughly 2-3 weeks from when your period starts that you actually transfer. I wondered what the next stage would look like. I feel miles off that yet! Sure you will have it all under control. No hubby was away so just did it on my own. 100% that is exactly what i felt, shits got real now, this is actually happening!

VioletCookie · 22/05/2023 08:08

@Flowerlover010 it's exciting though isn't it, I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress! Still a few days off but let me know how your scan goes this week 😊

And yes only 2-3 weeks from period for frozen transfer, I'm on hold to Create as we speak to book in my scan 😬

Flowerlover010 · 22/05/2023 08:39

@VioletCookie haha im not sure exciting is the word i can use. I know it is for some though! Maybe after this first part is all done and if it results in a normal embryo to transfer i might start to get a tiny bit excited later but problem is for me being pregnant is actually really really triggering even though thats ultimately what i want. Its such a difficult feeling for me. I know despite everything im now going through, if i got pregnant there will be moments of dread and "here we go again". Its so hard. Being excited is probably only something i can do if im actually holding my baby in my arms 🥹

VioletCookie · 22/05/2023 14:51

@Flowerlover010 bless you of course and I totally get it, there's such mixed emotions. I was in tears this weekend as I associate doing transfers with having miscarriages so finding it quite traumatic each time we have one. I still feel a bit excited in case 'this is the one' but I know how incredibly difficult it is also. If you ever need to talk because you're feeling overwhelmed I'm happy to listen to any rants, tears or anxieties you may be feeling. We're going to have our up and down days but we're going to get there! It's fantastic that you're having these investigations and you're going to be well prepped for your transfer. Everything you can cross off, you will. I hope you're OK, sending hugs xx

Flowerlover010 · 22/05/2023 18:51

@VioletCookie thank you xx

charja100 · 24/05/2023 21:40

@VioletCookie and @Flowerlover010 how are we both?

OP posts:
VioletCookie · 24/05/2023 21:58

Hi @charja100
Feeling on edge with the pressure a transfer brings and not able to catch my breath as work is so busy. Have a mixture of hope and anxiety! 🙈 thank you for checking in. How are you? X

Flowerlover010 · 24/05/2023 22:05

Hi @charja100 i think you must of missed my previous message to you as u didnt reply (20th). Asked how you were doing and what was next steps for you?
Im ok thanks first scan tomorrow for me to see if these stims are doing their thing!

charja100 · 24/05/2023 22:11

@VioletCookie I'm okay thanks, just waiting.... it's felt like forever between my transfer and this FET starting. I personally feel like they dragged it out unnecessarily but they said I needed to have a full bleed after my withdrawal bleed form fresh transfer. AF came at the weekend, so now waiting for day 21 to start my down regulation for FET.

I feel you with work, and the hope and anxiety mix is normal I think. How long until transfer?

OP posts:
charja100 · 24/05/2023 22:54

@Flowerlover010 oh I am so sorry I completely missed it!

I'm okay thank you, just focusing on work and keeping busy as I feel like I'm just waiting around at the moment. We might be close with it FETs. Next steps for me were to wait for AF. AF started Sunday so now I wait for cycle day 21 as I'm having a down regulated cycle. My transfer will be about three weeks after that.

Flowerlover010 · 25/05/2023 06:51

@charja100 blimey it is such a long wait isnt it! Its interesting to hear different approaches to FET so i was interested to hear what yours will be. I am no wiser about how long it will take for me now! I guess i just have to wait and see how everything pans out.

charja100 · 25/05/2023 08:08

@Flowerlover010 it really is a long wait! I think I've seen a trend that it takes longer after a fresh round. As I only just had egg collection and did a fresh they were insistent on a full bleed after my withdrawal bleed.

I also think it was needed as they confirmed my fresh ended in a biochemical.

OP posts:
VioletCookie · 25/05/2023 08:27

@charja100 there's always so much waiting isn't there, you end up wishing the months away rather than the days and time seems to stand still but fly past at the same time. How's your head been in this wait period? Are you feeling ready for another transfer? Everything crossed for you, I hope this is the one 🙏🏼 we've got a scan on Weds (day 10) to see how my lining is and then I guess another scan a few days later to check again. Once we're there it's a 5 day wait and the pessaries for the FET. My head is all over the place!

@Flowerlover010 best of luck for your scan today 🤞🏼 let us know how you get on

Flowerlover010 · 25/05/2023 10:36

@charja100 im not doing a fresh at all as hoping to do pgta testing with any luck and ive also been told that i have to have the bleedter EC and then another full bleed before i could transfer too so i think that might be standard. So im guessing if i do have some to test I'll likely be roughly August time!

Had my first stims scan this morning and said shes happy with where its at for this early on. She counted 10 follicles but couldnt see the left ovary too well as it was hiding a bit today so i may have more. I have no idea on measurements as i didnt ask but im happy they are happy with how its going. Gotta wait to be told when to take cetrotide as they think its a bit early. Next scan is monday

VioletCookie · 25/05/2023 15:40

@Flowerlover010 glad it went well. My left ovary is hard to find too... its behind my bladder so it's a bugger to see! I think I had 3 scans before starting certrotide, so you may or may not need one more after Monday. Did you have a blood test today too?

Flowerlover010 · 25/05/2023 15:59

@VioletCookie ive just had confirmation to up my dose of stim but its by such a small amount and start cetrotide saturday. 2nd scan monday. Then EC is hoping for weds thurs or fri. No blood tests no?

VioletCookie · 25/05/2023 16:22

@Flowerlover010 I had my bloods taken to see if my stims needed upping and they did by a small amount too. How do you feel about EC next week? Will hubby be able to go with you? X

Flowerlover010 · 25/05/2023 16:47

@VioletCookie just want to be getting it over with so i can relax a bit. If its weds or thurs he will be with me, if its friday he will try do his bit first thing in the morning and then leave for flight! So im really hoping its weds or thurs. My mum will take me if its fri.

Flower356 · 25/05/2023 21:14

Hi all,

Its been a while since I posted, I hope everyone is getting on OK!

I wondered if anyone had any advice on bloating after egg collection? I don't know if it's because the trigger didn't work so they tried on Friday found no eggs, and I had a different trigger and had the egg collection on Monday. I'm still so bloated and its making me very uncomfortable. Did anyone else find this and have any tips?

I've got 4 embryos that have made it to day 3 so really keeping my fingers crossed!

charja100 · 25/05/2023 21:17

Thank you @VioletCookie to be honest I've just immersed my self in work and seeing friends to keep myself distracted. I'm completely ready and would have been ready to have started on my last bleed but they wouldn't let me obviously.

Ah sorry @Flowerlover010 I think you did say and I've forgotten that you were going pgta. I've heard it's best to do pgta but we decided that as we'd signed up for a multi cycle package we'd see what happens on ten first round before committing. I think we'd consider pgta next time though. Great news they could see 10 on one side though!
