Checking in! Thanks for setting up the new thread @Imisscoffee2021 😊

I have my laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy next week. Have been having bad dreams about it. I simultaneously do and do not want them to find anything! But the scans so far seem to indicate that they will find endometriosis so I guess the question is just how bad and where is it.

Hope this continues to be a really lucky thread for all 🍀

Imisscoffee2021 · 21/02/2023 16:13

@Decaffe my friend has severe endo, so many operations! She actually concieved quickly naturally after being told she'd struggle so even if you do have laproscopies and things shows that bubs can implant and grow :) I know how you feel about investigations, the dread of finding something out versus the dread of 'unexplained-! X

Exactly that - having a reason for infertility after all this time would be amazing!

Then on the flip side, if it is that… I think would be a lot to process.

Because I am 40 now and I first went to the GP with my symptoms of endo (if it is that), when I was 26. “Oh it’s hormones, it’s just normal.”

Over the years, and especially more recently, I have repeatedly shared with many doctors how I can spot for up to a week before my period… the constant lower back ache… getting the runs and the ‘javelin arse’ on my period… the tilted uterus… and of course the infertility… ALL of which I now know can be associated with endo. And even now, I’m only having the laparoscopy because I asked for it! (and let’s not even mention my IVF consultant who casually dropped into conversation that I have adenomyosis without even thinking to mention it sooner!)

To think that no one has put the jigsaw pieces together, that this could have been treated in my late 20s… as I say, depending on what the outcome is next week I think it might be hard to make my peace with it!

Decaffe · 21/02/2023 16:47

On the flip side I am very pleased that I have been put on the operating list so quickly, and that this time next week I might finally have some answers. And I am grateful to have 2.5 frosties waiting for me 😁

1stcycle · 21/02/2023 17:08

@Imisscoffee2021 thanks for the new thread!

@Decaffe i hope all goes well with the investigations and you get some answers. Very annoying if it’s something that could have been picked up before!

I’ve had a little more spotting, just brown stringy (Sorry if TMI) I looked back at pics I took from last time and it’s exactly the same. One hand I’m thinking it could be a good sign as it’s the same and could just be the pessaries. On the other hand I’m also worrying it’s just the start of a chemical again. The worry and second guessing never ends!

@Imisscoffee2021 how long did you spot for?

Imisscoffee2021 · 21/02/2023 17:35

@1stcycle for me it was pink spotting on day before positive, then about 6 days later I had more pink with a little red, then the two random gush bleeds of fresh red blood which tailed off into brown spotting. Nothing since that last red gush, but I think it was all hormones and implantation, placental burrowing plus irritation from pessaries and a transvaginal scan probe! Is it only a small amount? You have two on board don't you? Could be from two implanting!

OP posts:
1stcycle · 21/02/2023 17:39

@Imisscoffee2021 yes just when I wipe sometimes but not all. And just like one little bit it seems just like a stringy bit of dried blood mixed with the remains of the pessaries. So I think it should be fine too. I think it’s just a constant doubt because of last time.

MinBins · 21/02/2023 18:02

@1stcycle our minds are never at rest during the first trimester, especially after a previous loss or chemical. But it's not the same every time, and I'm hoping this little bean sticks. The spotting could be irritation from the implanting / transfer / pessaries. Keeping everything crossed for you!

I was trying to post a message to @Honeybunie about pancakes (random pancake musings) on the previous and wondered why it wouldn't post 😅

@Decaffe hope the tests bring clarity for the next steps and often it's reassuring to know there's something to work on, and if the tests are clear - that's also a positive. A few years ago I kept insisting to my doc that there's something up with me. I was told my non-stop spotting (at age of 17) was due to the moon cycles by a doctor 🤣🤣

At the age of 35 I found out I have PCOS. Good on you for pushing this and I'm glad they've prioritised your dates!

Imisscoffee2021 · 21/02/2023 18:19

@acaciabluebell So thrilled for your lovely news! Whens your next scan/appointment?

OP posts:
Spin101 · 21/02/2023 21:27

not sure how to add honeybunie to this thread?

Spin101 · 21/02/2023 21:30

@honeybunie i worked out how to add you lol

Imisscoffee2021 · 21/02/2023 21:33

@honeybunie sorry I missed you and put acacia bluebell twice not sure how! Copied and pasted from old thread but did it badly clearly x

OP posts:
Imisscoffee2021 · 21/02/2023 21:33

I have a feeling there's more so do pls add others!

OP posts:
Spin101 · 21/02/2023 21:34

@Honeybunie @MinBins fingers crossed it’s too early but I’m trying not to get my hopes up.

OTD is on Friday so I’m going to hold out until then.

I’ve had random weird sensations from my stomach downwards. I think I’m more aware of my body at the moment and the progesterone is not ideal. Most of my symptoms are probably from that.

I didn’t have any pancakes today. I’m wondering if I’ve developed a slight gluten intolerance or whether I just need to keep a food diary to work out what’s causing my bad stomach. Although, it’s probably the progesterone

seekingbabyk · 21/02/2023 23:01

Hi ladies!

@acaciabluebell aww that's great news! Congratulations!

Don't worry @Decaffe I'm still here not pregnant too! Fingers crossed for us both soon though x

@Tinkerbell098 not sure your tag is showing properly but we have a new thread :)

Thanks @Imisscoffee2021 - at least you can blame it on the baby brain 😁

Tinkerbell098 · 22/02/2023 09:29

@Imisscoffee2021 @seekingbabyk thanks for the tag! I was going to reply on the other thread but realised it's hit capacity! Hope everyone's having a good Wednesday! I had a little bit of brown spotting again over the weekend, but only a couple of times when wiping. Hope it's nothing and is the pessaries again.

@Decaffe amazing you've got all that booked in for next week. I know the feeling about unexplained vs finding a problem to fix. I always felt that being unexplained was the worst, as obviously, something's wrong, they just can't find it. Good luck for next week X

KLM25 · 22/02/2023 14:12

Thankyou @MinBins and thanks @Imisscoffee2021 too for adding me to the new thread.

Hope everyone’s having a good Wednesday. I went for the HCG yesterday and just waiting for the results, apparently there’s a backlog at the lab and there’s a few hours delay. Probably silly but I can’t bring myself to stop the meds until I get that confirmation. Plus I was looking forward to a glass of wine tonight to cheer myself up so I’m hoping it’s not too delayed!

I asked yesterday if my doctor would recommend further tests if we had more time and my co-ordinator ran through a pretty comprehensive list of tests and explained why they wouldn’t recommend them in my case. So I feel more reassured and positive about trying again, which I can start with my next bleed.

Good luck to everyone with investigations and OTDs coming up x

KLM25 · 22/02/2023 14:21

Well wouldn’t you just know it, I just had the email and it’s confirmed the BFN, <1. Couldn’t help but feel a bit deflated to read it, even though I’d had those 2 negative HPTs.
But at least it came back quickly and I can crack the wine open tonight! Plus no injections or pessaries for a little while at least. Trying to look on the bright side 😏

Decaffe · 22/02/2023 14:23

Aww sorry to hear that @KLM25. It sounds good that your consultants see no reason for you to have the extra tests though. And great that you can try again so quickly. Sending a big hug and enjoy that wine! 🍷

Decaffe · 22/02/2023 14:24

@MinBins “Moon cycles” bloody made me laugh. It’s so appalling it’s actually funny?! 🌝

@seekingbabyk Definitely let’s make it happen! 🤞🏻

KLM25 · 22/02/2023 14:27

Thank you @Decaffe that’s so kind ❤️
Yes I’ve been looking forward to it for a few days! 🍷 x

seekingbabyk · 22/02/2023 16:24

Yes enjoy the wind @KLM25 - the only silver lining! Sorry you got a BFN confirmed- always heartbreaking even when you know!

@Decaffe yes definitely and I have just sent the email to get the next round booked in for end of March as I am CD1 today so have a predicted date for baseline as 23rd March! Feeling nervous after getting over all of the hormones and recovery from the last round but I feel like it's time to smash this round and get it done 💪🏻

@Tinkerbell098 - sorry you have some spotting again! You can't have too much longer left on the pessaries now?

Honeybunie · 22/02/2023 20:58

Thanks guys for adding me to the new thread :) @Imisscoffee2021
@Spin101 uuhhhh not long now until Friday. I’m wishing you the best of luck 🍀have you just very recently started to react to gluten?
@Decaffe gosh it’s sounds like you had a hell of a journey of not knowing what’s going on and people not listening. Awful. Hope you get your answers and that they address things asap for you to be able to move on
@KLM25 sorry about the BFN. I‘be had the same last time- wondering whether to stop the meds early but also couldn’t bring myself to it until confirmed. And yes crack open the bottle of wine. Anything to cheer you up ❤

KLM25 · 23/02/2023 08:41

@seekingbabyk @Honeybunie Thank you for your kind words, I’m finding it very comforting to talk to everyone on here ❤️

I’m glad it’s not just me who feels they need to wait for confirmation from the blood test. I have to admit I still had crazy thoughts of ‘oh wouldn’t it be funny if I had just tested too early and it comes back positive’ 🤦‍♀️ The last couple of transfers I’ve been convinced I’ve had symptoms but I think it must either be the medication or my brain doing strange things. I’m determined not to test too early if we make it to another transfer!

it was nice to have a break from the injections and pessaries last night, I must admit. Expect to be starting again in a few days but it’ll just be the Clexane (as well as the tablets) so I can cope with that!

@seekingbabyk Really glad you’ve got a date in mind for your next round, it’s always great to feel that you’re moving forward x

1stcycle · 23/02/2023 09:08

@KLM25 hope you enjoyed your wine last night and enjoy a few medication free days before you prepare for your FET!

@seekingbabyk exciting that you have a predicted date for baseline! I’m sure it will come around fast for you now!

I didn’t feel myself yesterday, I had a really busy day in work and then a really bad headache on one side all night, and my back was hurting and felt a bit crap like I usually do just before my period comes. So last night I couldn’t really concentrate and kept overthinking everything. So I was so happy this morning to see that it had gone darker again and nearly the same as the control line so it stops me worrying for a few hours haha! It’s mad that every niggle, cramp, spotting, pain can be symptoms of both early pregnancy or chemical pregnancy/period coming so it’s hard not to worry and google everything.
