@KLM25 Yeah we’re just hyper alert to anything going on in our bodies at those times and just overthink everything. We wouldn’t normally think twice about little things or feeling nothing at all. I think I was more so after my first transfer. And yes Googling things every minute of the day. After that disappointment and the second transfer I calmed down a lot but mainly to protect myself. And since hearing on here how long it takes until symptoms show I think it puts things into perspective which I guess we tend to lose. So yeah it’s great to have this group 😊
@1stcycle sorry you were feeling off yesterday. I hope you’ll feel better again today. And I’m glad your line is nice and dark. I’m sure everything is as it should 😊
@seekingbabyk aw yeah that is great that you have a date now already. Always nice to have something to focus on and keep moving on this journey 😃 with a bit of luck 🍀 it’ll be us soon with the BFP ❤️

seekingbabyk · 23/02/2023 10:15

@1stcycle that's amazing news the line is getting darker! Hopefully this is the one for you! When is OTD? Was it you that had two transferred? Sorry I am a nightmare remembering everything on this thread!

Thanks @Honeybunie and @KLM25 it feel great having it booked in! Really hoping the supplements mean we get one or two more blasts this time too!

Give me all your high protein meal ideas then ladies. We have a month now and I want to give it our best chance for this last round x

1stcycle · 23/02/2023 10:41

@Honeybunie thanks I actually feel better today so I think I was run down from from work!

@seekingbabyk my OTD is Sunday so a few days left, I’m currently 8DP 5DT. yes I had two transferred so hopefully one at least will stick and make it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

seekingbabyk · 23/02/2023 10:57

@1stcycle really hoping so for you and keeping everything crossed! This seems to be a lucky thread! Also I think a day 8 positive is pretty good news!x

Honeybunie · 23/02/2023 11:49

@1stcycle that's just great news! Imagine both stick hehehe 😃I'll ask to have two put in next time 😂Glad you feel better. sometime it just takes a good rest/sleep and to switch off from work.
@seekingbabyk I'm rubbish at knowing what nutrient is in what food and recipes sorry. Yeah I really really really hope the supplements will make a difference for you! It'll be interesting to see 😃

MinBins · 23/02/2023 13:18

Haha yes @Decaffe I sat there thinking "did I just hear what I heard?" All about the moon ladies. I have many more similar stories 🙈

Hope you enjoyed the wine and relaxed @KLM25 it's nice to get some normality back before resuming the journey again.

@1stcycle I did the same - it's only natural to think about every twinge and symptom, we're so in tune with our bodies. I'm slightly embarrassed to say I tested really often and over analysed tests. But I stopped after a few weeks (no I didn't really). The line getting darker is a great sign!

Yesss @seekingbabyk bring on March! We'll be here to listen and cheer on 💪🏼🎉

seekingbabyk · 23/02/2023 13:22

@MinBins awww thank you! It's like having your own little fan club on here isn't it 🥰

KLM25 · 23/02/2023 18:25

@Honeybunie Yes I definitely get out of control with the Googling ☺️ I think I might need to lock my phone away somewhere next time.
@1stcycle That’s such positive news, keeping everything crossed for you ❤️E

I’ve got my new protocol which is pretty similar to last time, it just looks like I’ll be starting the progesterone a day earlier. I’ve been offered an online consultation with my doctor early next week, which is great, but I’m just worried she’s going to talk us out of a double transfer. I mentioned today by email that we’d weighed up the risks but we wanted to go ahead with two this time.
A few months ago (before we knew how many embryos we had) she told us that she wouldn’t recommend it because of my c section. I’ve been Googling like crazy (nothing new there 🤦‍♀️) and I can’t find any evidence of that being a huge risk factor, other than the added risks with multiples that the IVF clinics are obliged to tell you about. I’m just not sure if I’m being irresponsible? My c section was almost 2 years ago. Has anyone else ever heard of this?

seekingbabyk · 23/02/2023 19:35

@KLM25 my consultant said that if we have a c section we would have to wait a minimum of a year to do another transfer, or worst case if there were complications or would be 18 months so I would think you'll be fine at 2 years.

Having said that though don't clinics have a policy of only allowing one to be transferred so that might be worth checking x

KLM25 · 24/02/2023 07:40

Thanks @seekingbabyk yes they said the same, although we actually have our second embryo transfer 11 months afterwards as everything had healed well and we didn’t have much time on our hands.
They just seem more reluctant about a double transfer post c section.
They definitely allow it as we had one for our very first transfer and it resulted in our son ❤️ We obviously had to sign all the extra paperwork.
I’ll see what happens. I’m just quite keen to do it as our only successful pregnancy came from a double transfer, I just don’t know if I’m being a bit reckless. Can’t help but think people that must get pregnant naturally with twins after c sections every day 😏

KLM25 · 24/02/2023 07:41

*had our second embryo transfer.. 🤦‍♀️

Honeybunie · 24/02/2023 10:40

@KLM25 Yeah the single embryo transfer under 40 is just a HFEA guideline or best practice isn’t it. As statistically you’re not likely to have more success. So I guess you can push for it. And yes I have a friend how had a c section. Then twins two years later. Having said that she had a horrible second pregnancy and the twins came early and were in different hospitals for ages 🙈 but I don’t think that wasn’t because of her first c section. If you feel like transferring two and they let you then why not. It’s your decision isn’t it. And even if it was twins I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Honeybunie · 24/02/2023 10:42

@Spin101 wishing you all the best for OTD 🤞🍀🤞🍀❤️

Spin101 · 24/02/2023 11:03

@Honeybunie thank you ❤️
Sadly it was still a BFN for me. At a bit of a loss at the moment. Not sure if I should go private for another egg collection even though I have 3 embryos left. I almost want them to thaw them all and tell me whether or not they survive after the experience last week and re-freeze if they’re good enough. It’s so painful to go through the meds and then turn up to have an embryo that hasn’t fully expanded be transferred. I don’t feel I was given the best chance or all the options sadly.

My lining is obviously the other issue and I wish it was just that I had to think about rather than whether my embryos will survive the thawing process.

I’m trying to do lots of research on thin lining. @Honeybunie ill have to look back on the posts to see what you’ve tried too x

seekingbabyk · 24/02/2023 11:12

@KLM25 definitely push for it then if it's something you want. If I have learned one thing on this thread it's that you have to push for what you want!

@Spin101 I'm so sorry it wasn't good news. I would guess it's very unlikely another wouldn't thaw correctly. Can they thaw and re freeze? I assumed it was like food where once frozen they need to be used but I have no experience on that. Will you go straight in for another transfer next month if you can?

I'm feeling a bit deflated today. We have two 4BCs in the freezer but a post came up on insta yesterday showing the grading and puts them in the "Poor" category and it just makes me feel like we're fighting a losing battle here 😢

Honeybunie · 24/02/2023 11:27

@Spin101 I'm so so sorry ❤sending a big hug your way. and I'm sorry you have two things to worry about now too. It's just not fair. I also don't know how easy it is to thaw and refreeze. You can ask them about it. How long does it normally take to get your follow up consultation? I would probably try another round of FET first though, as it might just have been bad luck. I wouldn't think they'd all be the same. And since you have three left. Try one more and see how that goes, before thawing them all at once?
And your clinic should really be able to help you with the lining no? Can you push for the vaginal viagra treatment?? it's been well documented to help very well! Surely they must offer an additional treatment to you to improve this.

@seekingbabyk aw don't get disheartened. I had exactly the same 😥I didn't know the grades on my first transfer, as was oblivious, which was probably a good thing. Then at the second transfer I asked, and it was a 4BC they put back. and I then checked and also saw it's a poor rating which really upset me at the time. And then I was convinced we wouldn't be successful because of the embryo. But it is what it is and we have to stay hopeful. There is so many success stories out there where 4BCs made it into a healthy baby!! and at the end of the day the grading is based on how they look like, which might be an indication of quality, but it doesnt show you what going on inside. It might be a genetically sound embryo which you just can't see. So let's not lose hope now ❤

seekingbabyk · 24/02/2023 11:48

Bless you @Honeybunie you're right of course and realistically there's nothing I can do but just try to be in the best condition for this next round to give it our best chance. And yes I've seen success stories with 2DD blasts (they didn't have anything else so said she may as well transfer it) so it's definitely possible.

How's the kicks and baby moving coming along @Imisscoffee2021 ? Has hubby felt it yet?

Honeybunie · 24/02/2023 11:54

@seekingbabyk exactly. And I really really hope the supplements improve the grading too 🍀

KLM25 · 24/02/2023 13:47

@Spin101 I’m so very sorry to hear your news, I’m sending a really big hug. Even though we have an inkling if we’ve already tested, it’s still so upsetting and it sounds like it’s been a very stressful time from start to finish. Will you be able to have a consultation soon? I’m sure you’ll have a lot of questions to ask and hopefully your next FET will be a completely different experience. I thought it was very rare for embryos not to survive the thaw but I hope your clinic can answer that question and the many other questions which you’re bound to have.
@seekingbabyk It’s so easy to feel disheartened but please don’t be. I’ve read so many posts on here from people having success with lower graded embryos when their higher grade ones hadn’t worked. Hopefully the Insta post won’t ruin your day ❤️
@Honeybunie @seekingbabyk Thanks so much for the advice. I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s experience during her pregnancy @Honeybunie it sounds like everything ended well, I hope so. It’s a tough one because if by some miracle, both embryos did stick, I know we’d probably be in for a very stressful time but would prefer that to not giving it a go. Especially as we’ll have a tough decision to decide what to do with any remaining frozen embryos once I hit the age limit x

Imisscoffee2021 · 25/02/2023 18:17

So sorry to see your news @KLM25 and @Spin101, is your next conversation with your clinic quite soon to discuss next steps? I know the sorrow of a negative test from my first transfer, but doesn't mean the next will be the same. My fresh one was a 5AA and didn't even try to implant and I've read so many threads of women having babies from determined little 4s and 3s :) Big hugs to you both xxx

@seekingbabyk yeah he was quiet for a few days but movements are definitely there now, like a fish swimming about and rolling. I've had my 19 year old cousin visiting to see London the last few days and exhausted myself showing her everything, culminating in Frozen the musical last night where the baby moved a lot! Enjoying the music maybe :) my husband felt him for the first time on Thursday, like a tiny push and got very teary eyed.

Glad you've got your tentative baseline in, and last stim round hopefully so you can start those transfers again!

@1stcycle happy OTD eve! X

@seekingbabyk I have had a 3BC in the past and have a 4BC and a 5BC in the freezer. My clinic rate them as ‘good’ and say they would not waste money/time/effort freezing one’s that do not have a chance. They said “it’s good news, congratulations” when they phones to tell me about them. Also, ideally you want the first letter to be better than that second letter as the baby is made up of the first bunch of cells and the placenta is made up of the second bunch of cells. So all the research says a BC is better than a CB, for example. And oh my gosh how often do we sadly hear of the AAs and the ABs not implanting.

I am so happy to have my BCs in the freezer and you should be too! #TeamBC for the win!! We’re going to get there my darling.

@Spin101 sending you a massive hug this evening. We are all here for you xxx

Decaffe · 25/02/2023 21:41

Ones not one’s! 🤓

seekingbabyk · 25/02/2023 21:48

Awww how lovely is that @Imisscoffee2021 - I know you said he really wanted to have a family so I'm so happy for you both and now he can feel part of it too. I would imagine it being a bit odd for the non pregnant partner (went to write man then and realised that isnt always the case!) for the first half as nothing changes too much but once they are feeling movement too it must all feel real! Hope you're having a lovely time entertaining!

@Decaffe oh that's good that they class them higher. My clinic was super happy too and seemed fine with those grades but we'd all love the 5AAs really wouldn't we! I'm sure it will all be fine. I really believe in fate so if it doesn't work out it just wasn't meant to be 🤷🏼‍♀️

ralno2 · 26/02/2023 10:07

Hey everyone!

Hope you are all ok.

Just a quick question to anyone who has had cystitis in early pregnancy - how did you treat it. I've been drinking tonnes of water of the weekend but it doesn't seem to be improving. Going to ring me gp tomorrow just wanted to know if any of you had any tips

Imisscoffee2021 · 26/02/2023 10:59

@ralno2 I had a UTI early on, just awful! Had antibiotics as the GP has been really fast at seeing me and medicating me with being pregnant! Drank lots of water too to flush system but think it was the meds that worked for me.
