Hi wanted to have a group for ladies going through IVF where they are aged below 35.

I will do a introduction and hope I could make some ivf buddies that may possible be in a similar boat.

Age: 29
TTC length: 6 years
Relationship length: 9 years
Medical issues: damage from previous D&C
Miscarriages: 6
IVF round: 1
IVF status: 2WW
Eggs collected: 9
Eggs matured: 5
Eggs fertilised: 3
Embryos:3 - 1 (8 cell) and 2 (4cell- disposed)
Transfer: 3 days

Really just want to have a safe space for us ladies where we can ask open questions and find comfort.

Look forward to hopefully meeting some ivf buddies.

Omg ap many new ladies, welcome all.

So I have finished a whole cycle earlier this month, did not have the best outcome.

Everyone is different from my referral it was pretty instant, but this was as they got my height wrong so for years I was denied due to being over weight... they thought I was 5 ft 1 on paper... I'm a tall girl, so that was fun.

The appointments can be very intrusive but actually brought my partner closer to me as I used to be so nervous, I'd make the worst dad jokes I'm the appointment, such as... is it a plane, is it a bird ( I had no clue what follicles was at this point hahaha)

The injections are scary, and it is okay to be scared. I'd always recommend that you take a deep breath and let your partner do it where possible so you can relax withiut tensing up... the fsh is easy the fymadel did used to sting just a little.

Egg collection was a good experience for me, but this may be due to the clinic I used... but they brought me in and explained everything
.. following they then told us that my boyfriends sample means we would need icsi and they just did it with no issues.

The 2ww was the hardest, I tried not to test but caved in... I wish I didn't as it added anxiety!

I am due to do it again in April, but just waiting as something strange is currently happening kng to my body (spotting) which due to timing my doctor is feeling hopeful that something natural may be happening but its too early to tell.

One last recommendation with NHS, check your local boroughs ivf conditions... nobody told me we were I ly able to have 1 round on nhs, this left us pulling our savi gs together for a second round. If your on nhs and you don't feel confident in the process, tell them, they will either stop and start again or resolve your concerns. Once you have had eggs out back in, it voids any other treatments unless your borough allows, I really wish when they said I had 1 embie I should have refused and started again.

Also these forums are a safe space, we are not doctors nor is google so do not take any advice as not one size fits all....

My sister was successful after 1 round and had twins from a single embryo.

Welcome to this thread and wishing you all luck, and how are you all?

Hope everyone is doing ok? DH and I had our appointment letters through from the clinic today. I have a blood test and DH has semen analysis on the 23rd March and then I have an ultrasound and we both have the results appointment with the consultant on the 25th April. Not sure if the 25th is when we are given the plan or just the results.

How are you all doing just checking In!

Hi everyone, I'm on my last day of norethisterone tomorrow and have my first scan etc on Tuesday.

Made the mistake of searching norethisterone on mumsnet and read some horror stories about people coming off it and having the most horrific periods of their life. For people who have taken it, is that normal? Should I be preparing myself for a really awful weekend ahead, or is the withdrawal bleed normally ok?

Hopingforno2in2023 · 04/04/2023 16:56

Did you get an awful period Running?

nothing to report here, just waiting for appointment on the 25th.

hope everyone is keeping well

Quantumleaper · 04/04/2023 18:54

Hi @Capri93 I just wanted to mention immune issues. You’re young to have that number of mcs. I had 4 and luckily stumbled across some threads on here about killer cells and had treatment with professor gorgy. I have recommended to a few ladies to have testing and one had her baby last year and other is quite far along.
In case it could be that, I wanted to let you know, to investigate and read up.
I had my daughter after treatment.

It was awful for a few hours yesterday – like could barely move as far as the TV remote to put my daughter in front of CBeebies for an hour. Then (really sorry TMI) passed the biggest blood clot I've ever seen, and was much better after that. I'm glad that I googled it beforehand because that clot would have freaked me the hell out if I didn't know other people had had it after norethisterone.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 07/04/2023 08:59

Oh bless you running! I’m glad you are feeling better now though.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 09/04/2023 11:18

Happy Easter all! Hoping that this spring and summer are kind to us all ❤️

Capri93 · 14/04/2023 16:09

Hey all,

@Quantumleaper they did look into why so many and even now they still Don tknow, they keep saying it is different things...

I am having a extremely hard day as I'm officially the only childless cousin in my family although I'm the oldest grandchild out of 16....

I don't mind them being pregnant but I feel lied too a little as they used to always say they knew how I was feeling and were scared they too would have issues too but was on contraception and have all gotten pregnant in the months that follow... surely that's not fertility issues... so they could not truly know how I felt.

Anyone else had people say they understand but you don't understand how they could?

Maybe I'm just being a bit of a bxxch or so.

How is everyone doing?

I’m sorry you had such a hard day Capri and I totally understand how you felt Flowers

Finally had our results appointment today. My AMH is 1.7 which is very low but I had more follicles than would be expected for that AMH. I had 5 on one side and 6 on the other. My FSH is 11 which seems to be ok and I do ovulate.

DH’s examination went well and it looks like the simpler procedure could work to get the speed which would be amazing.

Now we have to wait for the date of the sperm retrieval. Once sperm is in the bank and frozen we can start a cycle.

RunningOnHope · 25/04/2023 22:05

Hi @Hopingforno2in2023, things have moved on here. We had a bit of an up and down ride - looked like we'd only have a few eggs, so disheartened in the first week.

Then on collection day it turned out to be 15! Really pleased.

Then the call the next day to say only 3 had fertilised. Really disappointed.

Day three update - an extra one had fertilised late and all four were growing well! Delighted.

Day 5 transfer day: one fresh transfer, one ready to freeze and one they wanted to wait and see if it would get to blastocyst in an extra day. The fourth was not good enough to freeze.

Had the transfer yesterday... then todays update, the one they were waiting for made it to a decent blast; and so did the other one that had been written off!

So having first been told we only had three eggs fertilised at all, we've actually got three blastocysts in the freezer and one now in my uterus! Beginning the 2ww and trying to be chilled about it... 😬

Hope everyone else is getting on well?

Hopingforno2in2023 · 26/04/2023 06:49

Gosh what a rollercoaster running! So glad it has worked out well though and keeping everything crossed for you.

I am v nervous about the drop off rate as realistically with my numbers we are looking at less than 10 eggs according to the doc. Just have to hope they are good quality.

she surprised me by jumping straight into talking about a double transfer, I assumed with the first go at least they would always choose single transfer.

Hi All!
This is my first post, just started the referral process for Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral. My question is, has anybody else been referred here and how have you found the journey so far xo

Hopingforno2in2023 · 27/04/2023 09:25

Welcome JVT. That isn’t my clinic but I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

JVT27032022 · 27/04/2023 20:35

Thank you xo

Capri93 · 09/05/2023 12:54

Okay it has been way too long... how are we all doing.

And ladies, I found a company called gaia, they do insurance for ivf...

So if you need to spread the cost or want your money back if not successful, this might work for you.

I'm due to go for round 2, but actually way more scared this time round!

Really hoping your all well, I know last time a few were in the TWW, sprinking baby dust to you all!

RunningOnHope · 09/05/2023 13:24

Hi everyone, I was one of those in the 2WW - sadly it looks like I'm having a very early miscarriage, still getting stronger positives on pregnancy tests but heavily bleeding for the last 5 days now. Just waiting for the hcg levels to start going down so I can move forward.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 10/05/2023 07:08

Hi Capri. I am waiting for an appointment for DH’s SSR. Hate all the waiting around as I am getting more nervous the longer it is. Starting to worry that my numbers are too bad and we won’t conceive. Up till now I have been very positive. I hope your second round goes well. We have so far paid for two rounds with Access Fertility. I have seen Gaia mentioned elsewhere but in my head they don’t cover me due to my low AMH but if the two rounds don’t work I will check them out.

I really hope it isn’t a miscarriage running ❤️

Hopingforno2in2023 · 13/05/2023 08:14

How are you doing running?

had my results letter yesterday and it said it would be months before we start treatment which was a bit gutting. Telling myself that the autumn is a more practical time to do it anyway but still a bit upset.

Capri93 · 24/05/2023 09:10

Hey ladies, sorry for the extra long reply!!

I know it's late, but how are you @RunningOnHope hope it worked out, that sounds proper horrible! We're always here if you need a rant or chat.

@Hopingforno2in2023 that's annoying!! I totally understand also, I've also requested to try again later in the year. It's just all been a bit mentally draining so want to go on a holiday and just relax for a few months build some self love.

Hope everyone else is okay x

Sorry to hear you are drained Capri, I hope the summer is lovely and restful for you.

The clinic rang yesterday and seem to want to get things moving despite what they said in the letter so we have our consent appointment on the 14th June when we should get our treatment schedule. As we are on holiday in July however I assume it will be an August/September start.

hope you are ok running ❤️

Capri93 · 19/06/2023 11:40

How are you all holding up?

OP posts:
RunningOnHope · 19/06/2023 14:28

Morning everyone. I did indeed have an early miscarriage last month, which dragged on for a while. But I'm ready to go for an FET next cycle as soon as my period starts up again (which obviously is always late when you want it to start). Just hoping it gets a move on so we can fit it in before holiday season etc - fingers crossed for today or tomorrow, then FET in a few weeks!

RunningOnHope · 19/06/2023 14:28

And by morning, I mean afternoon....
