Hi wanted to have a group for ladies going through IVF where they are aged below 35.

I will do a introduction and hope I could make some ivf buddies that may possible be in a similar boat.

Age: 29
TTC length: 6 years
Relationship length: 9 years
Medical issues: damage from previous D&C
Miscarriages: 6
IVF round: 1
IVF status: 2WW
Eggs collected: 9
Eggs matured: 5
Eggs fertilised: 3
Embryos:3 - 1 (8 cell) and 2 (4cell- disposed)
Transfer: 3 days

Really just want to have a safe space for us ladies where we can ask open questions and find comfort.

Look forward to hopefully meeting some ivf buddies.

I'm not as irritable, although I cried most of yesterday morning for no reason 🙈
What dose are you on?
Flo is much the same. My belly is quite uncomfortable though. I wouldn't be surprised if I wake up with it in the morning. I did speak to the clinic as I didn't know if they'd be there tomorrow, she said if it starts tonight or tomorrow morning, call them and I'll get booked in for Monday. If it comes Saturday afternoon or Sunday then call Monday to get booked in for Tuesday.

It's so strange that different clinics have different ways of doing things. The baseline scan is to make sure I have responded to down regulation properly before starting stims, so I thought everyone had one.

After I start stims I'll also have my first stim scan around 7 days after I think.

Ah I'm pleased that brings you some comfort, it does me too. Previously it worked first time too! I'm hoping for the same kind of luck this time, but my ovaries were 8 years younger back then 😅

@Sj2505 I'm on 5mg of it! Dear love you..that's deff hormones when crying for no reason 🙈
Ah yes good idea to chat to them today incase no-one was about to pick up your message at the weekend so at least now you know what you got to do 👍🏻 Enjoy your last few days with no meds..you'll have to let me know when you start injections!

@Capri93 - Thankyou! 😊 Awh, when is you OTD?! Your not out till AF shows up so hang in there!

RunningOnHope · 10/02/2023 21:52

Can I ask those who are further on than me, when did you learn about doing the injections? Did you have a specific appointment to learn how to do it all?

We've not started treatment yet, waiting for the phonecall to book in dates, so not sure what the exact process will be, but doing the injections makes me nervous so trying to guess when it might all be demystified!

@P4P23 thank you OTD is Sunday... been having AF symptoms but no spotting or showers yet...

Omg @RunningOnHope the injections... the clinic I was with gave me a scan on day 2 of period where instantly after I had another appointment with the nurse where they graphically went over this again 🤣😂

When Ferring deliver the medicine, there are leaflets and a nurse gave us a meeting before this but they gave a refresher. Also for the trigger they do it on the last scan before your egg collection.

Dont panic and get your self a sticker chart, it helps.

They are not painful and can hardly be felt. I am so afraid of needles, I ha e a I complete tattoo. But I was perfectly fine.

I know you will be okay, just smile through it and it will be fine.

I had fsh for 6 days before adding fymedel (so 2 injections per day for 5 days) then the day of trigger was a total of 4 as I had dual trigger of burselin and ovitrelle. But honestly it was easy as pie!

@RunningOnHope- Hi 👋🏻
yes well the first time I had a specific appointment and then I could refresh with online videos they sent me if needed..this time I didn't go to the demo appointment as the clinic isn't that close to me and I'm taking the same meds as last time..But I do need to get watching the videos again so I remember correctly, but it's not hard!
Are you nervous about the needles?
That demo appointment was after the consent appointment and when I was getting sorted out with starting dates!

Sj2505 · 11/02/2023 07:54

@Capri93 hi! Hope you feel more positive and get that BFP on OTD.

@P4P23 just reread my post and I was on 3x5mg not 3x15mg 🙈 losing my mind over here!

@RunningOnHope I believe I'm going to be shown when I go for my baseline scan, but there's also videos on my clinics website which I'm told to watch.

AF came this morning ☺️☺️ I'm going to call the clinic at 9 to book my baseline!

Sj2505 · 15/02/2023 09:07

@P4P23 hey! How are you getting on?
I've started injections! This evening will be the third ones - I'm on two in the evening and Friday I start another in the morning.

How's everyone else's journeys going?

SophieW32 · 15/02/2023 09:28

Hey @Sj2505 I changed my name 😊
I'm getting on good! I'm waiting on AF but pretty sure it'll be here by tonight or tomorrow 🤞🏻 so as long as it's full flow by tomorrow- I'll be good to start injections on Friday 👏🏻
How you finding the jabs? You feeling good? Are you on two different types of stims? I'm only going to be on one evening injection and then will be adding the morning injection in from Monday if I get starting on Friday ok!

Welcome @Stillhoping1990 - good luck for your FET 😊

Sj2505 · 15/02/2023 09:59

@SophieW32 Hey Sophie 👋🏼 haha.
Oh that's good it's nearly here! How are you feeling about starting the injections?

Mine are going really well. I was so dramatic on the first one, held it near me for about 15mins! And then found the plunger was really stiff and needed my thumb to do it, so OH did the plunger whilst I just held it 😅 last nights were a lot easier!
Yes I'm on Ovaleap and Meriofert at the moment, then I add in Fyremadel on Friday.
Got my first stims scan on Monday.

SophieW32 · 15/02/2023 10:24

@Sj2505 Yeah I'm getting excited..I just want to get started now and I'm just so hoping everything goes well! It's nerve wrecking at the same time..I'm just planning to carry on with as much normal routine as I can and take one stage at a time!

Awh I'd say the first one is going to be the hardest..I'll have to count myself down..otherwise I'll be standing for 15 mins too 😂 Good job your OH was nearby though to help..I'm sure he was chuffed though as well to be feeling apart of it! What dosages are you on? Are you planning on taking much time off work?

Sj2505 · 15/02/2023 11:12

@SophieW32 I bet! I was the same. I'm not wishing the time away anymore, I'm loving that I've finally started the treatment and look forward to the evening jabs haha! Im trying to embrace each step because my memory is so bad, I can't remember anything from my round with DS 8 years ago - not even a single injection!

Honestly, I didn't even feel the injection going in at all, the needles are so fine. I feel the Meriofert solution going in after the needle, with a very slight sting but that's about it.
I'm on 225 Ovaleap and 75 Meriofert.

I work from home so won't need to take a lot of time off at all. I will obviously take egg collection off and maybe the day after if I'm not feeling great, but other than that I will take my laptop to the sofa and work there 😅
How about you? Do you know your dosages etc?

SophieW32 · 15/02/2023 11:33

@Sj2505 that's great..it really sounds your getting on well with doing them! Glad there is no pain 👏🏻 looking forward to doing them is such a positive!!
I mind from my first time when coming to the end of the injections I was finding it really difficult to get the needles in..like my tummy was soo hard and bloated!
Have they told you to do all of yours in the tummy or can you use your thigh?
I'm the same..I work from home which is great esp when going through this, I only have the odd office days to do but I can choose to go in or not! I'll be on 150 menopur!

Stillhoping1990 · 15/02/2023 13:08

Hey all! If you don’t mind me asking, I wondered how you found yourselves on the IVF journey? Was it unexplained infertility? Mine is.
good lucking with those injections and I think you’re attitude is great! Take each step at a time and don’t wish time away. I felt like I wished so much time away last year! I lost a whole year of my life to ttc and IVF! Still remember to enjoy life ladies :-) x

Sj2505 · 15/02/2023 13:56

@SophieW32 I think there's a lot to be said for positivity! Not that I'm an overly spiritual person, but our bodies prioritise production of stress hormones over sex hormones! So the more zen the better.

They haven't specified I can do it anywhere else, but the little leaflet with the Ovaleap pen does. I think if I felt I needed to do it elsewhere I'd just call them to check.

I've just read on another thread that the Fyremadel is a bit of a stinger!! 😱 that may curb my enthusiasm haha.

@Stillhoping1990 hi! My initial diagnosis was unexplained infertility. That was 8.5 years ago. I was so fortunate that IVF worked first time and I now have the most amazing 7 year old.
I also fell pregnant naturally following but it wasn't meant to be.
I've been with my "new" partner 6 years but he has a vasectomy so now we've decided to have a child together we went straight for IVF/ICSI.

Ah yes you were very lucky it worked first time - IVF seems to work in mysterious ways. Hopefully you have good luck this time too. It was probably too long ago to remember but do you remember feeling any different before your BFP? When I got my negative I had fairly usual PMS symptoms. It’s hard not to think about symptoms in 2ww isn’t it. My FET date should be next week now.

Sj2505 · 15/02/2023 16:14

@Stillhoping1990 I can remember that I tested a week early and got my BFP, the only symptom I can recall that early was tiredness. If I wasn't working I was having afternoon naps! I had a lot of nausea but I think that was a bit later on.
I get sore boobs and slight nausea ahead of AF nowadays, so I don't think I'll be able to tell this time 😅
Ah when do you find out the date?

Stillhoping1990 · 15/02/2023 16:44

@Sj2505 I find out the date for FET on Friday. Getting anxious for the dreaded tww. I have nausea, sore breasts, cramps and tiredness before my period also so it gets very confusing every month! I have a feeling that when I do get the BFP I will feel it in my body. Really praying it’s our time now.

Capri93 · 15/02/2023 17:05

Bur ni holding back, we are going for a second after a few AFs have gone by+

Sj2505 · 15/02/2023 17:31

@Stillhoping1990 I really hope so for you! Let us know when you get the date 🤩

@Capri93 sorry to hear that 😔 I wish you the very best for your 2nd round✨

Stillhoping1990 · 15/02/2023 17:37

@Capri93 sorry to hear that, I know how disappointing it is. It can take a while to bounce back and be ready to do it again. I waited a few months too and now going again x

Stillhoping1990 · 15/02/2023 17:40

@Sj2505 yep I will let you all know the date. I’ve decided to try acupuncture and a better diet this time as well.
