I’ve not come across any threads for this so thought I would start one as a place for us to share our journey.

I’m going in for an ultrasound and blood test tomorrow. Hopefully all will be ok and I’ll be accepted on the trial 🤞

@PCOSlife I am super happy for you. I had to Google what BFP was🙈 and could not contain myself when I saw what it meant. Wishing a safe pregnancy journey.

I am now 24 weeks gone since my last post and continued taking the medication (not the big red one but the other one. I even forgot the name) till week 14. Apparently it is meant to balance the hormones for women with PCOS.

sorry about your dad.

MyPCOSandme · 08/07/2023 14:07

@Rljnz the only way to find out is if you take the test. You are most likely pregnant.

Sending you a virtual hug and praying it’s a positive. 🤗

Tryingforbabyb · 08/07/2023 16:47

Definitely the right place to vent and ask questions lol!

@MWPCOS the provera was a nightmare for me! It took 15 days before I got a period. It was the most frustrating feeling ever.

I'm currently 4 weeks since my last period but hoping they come in the next week naturally again.. unless I ovulate late and get a little surprise! But I'm not overthinking and expecting a period.

Pom99 · 08/07/2023 17:18

Congratulations! @MyPCOSandme
can i ask if anyone ovulated 1st cycle?
I never thought I would be so excited to see if I ovulate this cycle .
I am booked in for tracking scan next Wednesday (had to do those private myself as the hospital Im under have just asked me to track with ovulation tests at home)

PCOSlife · 08/07/2023 19:14

@MyPCOSandme 🥰 thank you!!
I have been thinking of you and wondering how you’re getting along!
It’s lovely to think I started reading this thread, feeling very desolate and then I saw that you’d been blessed and it gave me some hope.

How has your pregnancy been?

I feel like I learned everything about conception and trying to become pregnant but now that I am, I have a lot to learn!

Thank you 🩷 I feel grateful that I have been able to tell my Dad, and hope it brings him some peace at this time. Although I am sad, my pure happiness is giving me such strength.

PCOSlife · 08/07/2023 19:22

@Pom99 that’s not very helpful if they’re not going to scan as standard 😕 I just assumed that was part of the trial, it’s very unfair that you are having to pay for something if others, myself included, are having as standard.

I didn’t ovulate on the first try, so they upped to double dose and I did ovulate then and by the grace of god the miracle happened.
I was so disheartened after the first go, but this thread helped me to keep faith - I have a wonderful support network but no-one who knows exactly what it’s like to be experiencing this, except these ladies and for that I am thankful 🙏🩷

MWPCOS · 09/07/2023 13:23

Did it really!? I finished the tables 5 days ago and nothing! I’m feeling some PMS symptoms but more just exhausted, which I’m assuming is from them, although I’m not sure! I didn’t realise they take so long to work.

its so so frustrating knowing I have the medication for the trial ready to go and not being able to start it.

MyPCOSandme · 09/07/2023 15:55

@Pom99 It is unfair that you are not receiving the standard scans. However, I strongly think you should also do home testing even though you are doing the scans.

my doctors also advised me to do home testing along side the scan which I did. In fact on my last scan, my ovulation was predicted so to make sure I did not miss it they asked me to continue with my home tests. The home tests are accurate.

I also did not ovulate on my first cycle. It happened on the second one. I hope all goes well for you.

MyPCOSandme · 09/07/2023 16:06

@Tryingforbabyb Keep home testing if you expect a period. Your CD might peak which is a sign you will ovulate.

I am really praying you will get positive results.

MyPCOSandme · 09/07/2023 16:22

@PCOSlife I had been following your journey from the beginning which is why I was very pleased to hear the good news.

I have to say I also learnt a lot through this thread. My own friends could not understand what I was going through and even questioned why I opted for the trial. I know it was coming from a good place but it goes to show how people don’t understand about our condition like we do.

the first trimester was not that bad as I did not have severe symptoms. The second one even easier as I was back to normal. But I do nap a lot at 16:00 on most days. I will be in my third trimester next week and I hope I have no issues there too.

everyone’s pregnancy is different but hopefully yours will be smooth too (you never know)🤗

MyPCOSandme · 10/07/2023 05:06

@Tryingforbabyb i meant LH not CD level. I had to come back to the thread because I was thinking about you.

I have attached the home testing results I did. As you can see my LH level was low so many times. Had my last peak on 28 December but the doctors had predicted I would ovulate on 26Dec. So am glad I did the home testing because as soon as I saw the peak my partner and I knew what to do.

start the tests as soon as your period stops.

Am sorry if am telling you something you are already doing.

Thank you @MyPCOSandme

I had to stop the home ovulation as it was making me crazy and became stressed. We are just making sure we are regular and hope for the best. I really don't think anything will happen this month and I will receive my period shortly.
Currently on holiday so hopefully this is the relaxation my body needs! X

Pom99 · 10/07/2023 09:30

@MyPCOSandme Can I ask which App you are using? Looks very good.
i am home testing using the clear blue, however I think this one will be good as creates some sort of history so would come in handy.

MyPCOSandme · 10/07/2023 10:40

@Tryingforbabyb stress is definitely not good especially TTC.

enjoy you holiday and hopefully you will also feel more relaxed when you return and try again.

stay strong and positive. Lots of hugs your way. 😊

MyPCOSandme · 10/07/2023 10:45

@Pom99 I used the Femometer App and also used the Femometer home kits which I bought through the App.

Tryingforbabyb · 10/07/2023 10:56

@Pom99 I use Premom for tracking periods etc but stopped the ovulation

Tryingforbabyb · 10/07/2023 10:57

@MyPCOSandme thank you!
It's definitely what I need :) hope you're keeping well xx

MWPCOS · 13/07/2023 08:11

I have finally come on my period and started taking the drugs. Day 3 today and booked in for a tracking scan… it all seems so surreal.

Can I ask if you had any side effects from the medication? How long did it take before you got these?

🤍

Tryingforbabyb · 13/07/2023 11:15

Yey @MWPCOS
I had side effects from day 1 of taking the tablets. It took me 2 cycles before the side effects were more manageable. The first cycle I didn't eat much for the 5 days, just slept and drank loads of water but I think my body is slowly used to them now.
Even the Metformin/placebo gave me side effects for the first 6/7weeks. But I do think everyone is different

Pom99 · 13/07/2023 11:38

@MWPCOS Amazing news ! I am new on the medication like you.
this is my first cycle. My side effects seemed to stop when I stopped taking the red tablets when required. Before this i had terrible headaches and just felt exhausted. I had some heart palpitations the first couple of days but towards the end i didn’t.
I will find out over the next couple of days if I get ovulation.
unfortunately i am having to self fund the tracking scans as this wasn't offered to me as part of the trail. I have also booked in for a day 21 blood test (again self funded)

Sal2604 · 30/07/2023 07:26

Hi,

I’m on month 4th of the LOCI trial. I didn’t ovulate the first month so they increased my dosage to 2 tablets a day and I ovulated both months but sadly didn’t conceive. I’ve been using ovulation kits so I know the timing was right. I’m now on day 2 on the tabletsIs so fingers crossed. anyone else in a similar position?… please share you thoughts/experiences.

thanks

Pom99 · 30/07/2023 22:35

Hi ! Hope you’re doing ok ?
how are you finding it 4 months in?

I'm in month 1. 10 days DPO to be exact.
I ovulated this first cycle (self confirmed from multiple methods of testing) that was a huge win and I was on cloud 9.
Although I must say I am a little anxious about coming months .
TTC for 3 years nearly.

Sal2604 · 30/07/2023 23:48

Hi,

I’m doing good thanks and hope you are too.

thats great news!!! It means your system is reacting well to the meds… (fingers crossed for you). I use an App called Womanlog, and it’s great for recording your cycle/symptoms… I would definitely recommend it.

I wouldn’t worry about the coming months, stay positive and miracles do happen.

I must say though, these tablets are giving me pregnancy symptoms following ovulation, so I promised myself that I won’t think I’m pregnant this time unless I have a positive test🤣🤣

I did conceive on the 2nd cycle of Clomid nearly 4 years ago (my son is now 3). I couldn’t believe it as I only have a natural period once a year if I’m lucky..

This month for the first time I experienced really painful periods… I’m on cycle day 5 and the pain seems to have settled now.. The tablets have caused low mood from the first month, but apart from that I seem to be doing ok (not sure about my husband though) 😅😅😅.

MWPCOS · 31/07/2023 17:04

How are your cycles going?

I am part way though my first cycle now and it’s been a roller coaster. I went for a scan around two weeks ago and they said I wasn’t progressing so they were not sure if it was working. Went a few days later and they said there was growth and maybe it is starting to work, and that I couldn’t wait the weekend so to go back in two days time for another scan. Went to that scan and there had been barely any progress so I had to come back Monday (today). I went today and the follicle has gone so they presume I have ovulated over the weekend, then though it was so small on Friday!

I’ve been doing ovulation tests at home all week and they have not even shown the slightest sign of ovulation. I have no idea if I have or have not ovulated and if I missed the opportunity to try to conceive.

Tryingforbabyb · 31/07/2023 20:26

Sending lots of positivity to us all!!
This is some journey we're on and no one seems to have the same journey.

I've just finished my 5th cycle but we still haven't recorded an ovulation. I might be ovulating later in my cycle but the hospital expects me to ovulation around day 14. This is my first cycle where I've had 3 letrozole/Metformin tablets so fingers crossed there's signs of ovulating on Wednesday!

The good news is the 6 month trial only starts once I'm ovulating. At least the last few months haven't been pointless.
