Thank you @LouScot @iloveteddies I’ll inbox you both the details of this acupuncturist. I honestly think she’s a miracle worker. Just praying it continues 🙏. I just don’t understand how it’s happened xx

@Woodcottage1 huge congratulations. I'm very far from Manchester so that wouldn't work but I'm curious about the sperm catcher. Could you share details? When I have the energy I'll post about our journey. Essentially we are looking at donor eggs.

Happy new Year everyone 🎉. Hope you are doing well. How is everyone doing, I am about to restart looking at my options after a consultation this week. 🙂

Pinklady81 · 14/01/2024 21:00

hello and happy new year ! Amy further news@Woodcottage1 x

Woodcottage1 · 15/01/2024 00:20

Happy new year! Incredibly there is a heartbeat and I’m 8 weeks. I am so incredibly thankful. I really believe it’s down to my acupuncturist who’s called Meridian in wilmslow.
The things that were different recently was the accupuncturist and also a lot of glutathione. I was having iv drips, but the more I read up on it I think it has to have helped. You can get it as a supplement. The acupuncturist got me to stop drinking coke, and I’ve only had one since my first sessions with her, which is pretty crazy as I was a 3/4 a day person. I really recommend having an intro session with Ali just to see what she says. It’s about 70 mins and she asks over 100 questions, and will come up with a plan. I have worked with about 4 other acupuncturists and all were lovely, but Ali knows what she’s doing. The homework I had was to relax more, ideally lie down 5-7, no coke, lots of cool water and berry’s.
i think the glutathione has helped oxidise my eggs. I’m just praying baby is healthy. I’ve tried so many things, like hyperbaric oxygen treatments, I was so convinced that I would be pregnant from transferring the three embryos from my three rounds, when it didn’t happen I was completely lost and in shock and in a bad mental state. It makes no sense for me to fall pregnant naturally, so to me it has to be Ali from Meridian.

Congratulations once again @Woodcottage1 such inspiring news. We have accepted that donor eggs is the only route for us. We had 4 IVF cycles with lots of eggs but very few embryos. I have heard positive things about Glutathione and NAD IVs. I may take a look. Can I ask how many you had before you conceived? I'm now 44 and OH is 46 with male factor issues 😢

Woodcottage1 · 15/01/2024 18:43

Hi @Lulu106 im 44. My three embryos I got from mild ivf didn’t work and it had taken me about 2 years to get them. Can you start planning the donor egg route but at least have one session with my acupuncturist to see what she says needs work? I’d never heard of NAD, sounds incredible. The great thing about glutathione is you look and feel better with it. I had I think about 4/5 of them over a couple of months. I think there’s something in it. I think we also need to stop saying we’re too old and it’s not going to work and be positive. I was so sure that one embryo was going to work that when they didn’t I went into a depression, but I kept thinking that it made no sense, I’m suppose to be pregnant, and I think those thoughts helped me become naturally pregnant. Best of luck with this x

@Woodcottage1 thank you. I can relate to everything you have written. I've worked with two different acupuncturists, two different nutritionists and a homeopath who have all felt strongly I should have fallen pregnant naturally. Truth be told baby making doesn't happen too often and with male factor issues on top of that the chances seem slim. I will contact your acupuncturist though out of curiosity. Are they based in Altrincham?

Just an update, I’m now 12 weeks 4 days. Please check out meridian Accupuncture in wilmslow. She got me into balance. I was told to stop drinking coke, drink cool water and as my kidney meridian was low she recommended I eat berries. I’m 44, ive had 5 rounds of ivf, endometriosis, one ovary (consequently half of my original reserve), I have fibroids and I did have a polyp on my lining that went unnoticed for a long time. I had a lot of vitamins as I’d had a few months earlier quite a few iv drips, and previous to that lots of supplements. This is a natural pregnancy. I’ve used a lot of fertility acupuncturist's over the years. They did about 5 points. Ali does about 15 plus, you can really tell that’s she’s experienced in what she does, and there’s a lot of knowledge she’s created because of this experience. I’ve tried everything and really believe that getting the body into balance has worked for me. I just wanted to share this with you x

Lovely news 🤗. I will be looking into acupuncture xxx . Keep us updated with your progress.

iloveteddies · 24/02/2024 18:02

Hello 👋 how is everyone doing?

onewishplease · 18/08/2024 20:19

Hey @Woodcottage1 that is fantastic news! How are you doing? That was a glowing review you gave your acupuncturist. Unfortunately I live about 3 hours away. I found you through googling hyperbolic oxygen - would you say this contributed? And you speak so well of glutathione - I have never even heard of this? I am 43. 3 unsuccessful IVF, 3 natural pregnancies, all ending in miscarriage. And I just can’t shake the feeling that I am supposed to get and this time stay pregnant, I just need a last push over the line. I have found combining fasting, infrared light, cold water dips and organic food, all very restorative - and I “feel” in great shape. Would be great to hear what you think X

Woodcottage1 · 18/08/2024 20:40

Hi @onewishplease, I think it sounds really good were you are up to, and the fact that you feel you’re going to get your baby, I think that’s really positive. I personally think you need to have the 90 mins first appointment with Ali at Meridian in Wilmslow, she will give you homework and say what she thinks is affecting you from an eastern medicine point of view. I’m not exaggerating when I say she gets everyone pregnant. Me aged 44 and I’ve just given birth at 45. My childminder who never got past 6-8 weeks, my sister in law who has very bad endo. Everyone I’ve recommended to her is now pregnant. I just think it would be useful you seeing her, and giving your feedback. You could tie it in with a trip to Manchester perhaps?

OP posts:
onewishplease · 18/08/2024 21:06

@Woodcottage1 OK! I’ll see what I can do. I have an appointment in Mansfield in a few weeks so maybe I could tie it in with that as I am only about an hour away there.
That is absolutely wonderful news that you have given birth at 45:) And I am lying in bed now, about to go to sleep with so much hope!
I am 44 in April. Was this your first? I can’t remember if you said? X

Woodcottage1 · 18/08/2024 21:27

I had a successful 2nd round in 2020 and then 3 unsuccessful rounds until October last year. Yes please book in to see Ali. If you have an appointment scheduled message Ali asap as she’s very booked up and say Victoria Crane recommended you to her. I just think it’s worth giving it a go and seeing what she says. I think it’s really important to visualise your baby. Have you got a partner with whom your trying? Make sure you have a Conception Cup that you put in after sex.

LouScot · 18/08/2024 22:09

@Woodcottage1 congratulations!!! I wondered how things were going for you, that's amazing 😍.

I had another round of IVF recently with fertilisation failure (only 2 eggs collected) so think that's the end of the road for me (I'm single and coming up to 46 soon).

Hope more of you have your happy ending like @Woodcottage1 xx

Woodcottage1 · 19/08/2024 03:26

Hi @LouScot, I’m so sorry to hear this :( it’s incredibly unfair this journey. I am sorry xxx

OP posts:
onewishplease · 19/08/2024 20:15

Hi @LouScot I’m sorry to hear that too and I wish you all the best in the next chapter of your journey, whatever route you decide to take x
I have made an appointment with Ali @Woodcottage1 I am seeing her in 3 weeks. In the meantime do you think I should sign up for 5 hyperbaric sessions? Yes, I have a partner. This had been tough on us but we’ve been together 11 years. Ive never used a conception cup. I try really hard to be aware of what I’m putting on and in my body (without being obsessive). Eat organic. Don’t use a lot of products. Really avoid plastic where I can etc. This has scaled over the 4 years we’ve been on the journey, and as the months and years have gone by and I’ve read more, I’ve tried to introduce new and better habits. Why would you recommend this? Sorry TMI but we nearly always DTD at night, so I’m lying down for hours afterwards anyway..?

Woodcottage1 · 11/09/2024 23:04

@onewishplease huge apologies I missed this. Delighted to hear that you’ve booked in. Ali will ask you what feels like over 100 questions and will come up with homework for you. I really am delighted you’ve booked on. Best of luck with your appointment. Re the conception cup, it worked for me the first time I used it, after 2 sessions with Ali so I would definitely use it again. I know exactly what you’re saying regarding good habits and plastics. I’ve actually started an initiative to try and spread awareness of plastics in kitchens. But I would personally use the conception cup if I try again in the future x best of luck xx
