It's not the Evewell I don't want to say in case anyone is currently with them and worry them but it's a chain of clinics known for the older ladies! I'm absolutely appalled
I've emailed half a dozen times and nothing I'm off work now for Easter and my mission is to get to the bottom of this ! It's completely put me off and I've not even had a transfer yet !

Woodcottage1 · 30/08/2023 20:14

Hello!
I had my final egg collection in May which resulted in no eggs unfortunately. I then had 2 months of prostap injections to help my endo and today I’ve had my embryo transfer with a blastocyst frozen on my first round in 2021. Is anyone else going though this? X

Ooooh fingers crossed @Woodcottage1

Woodcottage1 · 31/08/2023 06:50

Lots of love and hope @Woodcottage1 x

iloveteddies · 03/09/2023 13:03

All the best 🙂 fingers crossed 🤞. I am waiting for a hysteroscopy due to suspected polyps seen mid IVF cycle. But I have 3 frozen blastocysts for first time. All previous were only suitable for fresh transfer. It is never straightforward. How is everyone doing? 🤗

Woodcottage1 · 03/09/2023 18:17

Thank you so much @LouScot xx

sorry to hear about the polyps, I’ve had one on the lining in the past too which was removed. I’ve been reading up on glutathione injections and I read that they help get rid of polyps. If I were to continue with ivf after this, i would be dosing up with glutathione. Thank you for the good luck x

Hi there ladies,

I know this is an established thread but I wondered if you wouldn't mind me joining? I'm turning 40 in February and am TTC #1. Looking to start IUI or IVF next month. The journey feels pretty lonely.

iloveteddies · 09/09/2023 12:49

Hello 🤗@ThesisthenaViva. Hope you are doing well 😊

LouScot · 09/09/2023 21:26

@Woodcottage1 looks like you have reason to be hopeful, keeping everything crossed for you x

ThesisthenaViva · 11/09/2023 13:31

Hi there! Thank you for replying. I'm doing better this week! How are you getting along?

Woodcottage1 · 11/09/2023 13:42

Unfortunately it didn’t continue and my bloods are back. Generally horrendous but I’m going back on the supplements :( x

Hello all. I hope you don't mind if I join too. I'm nearly 41. My partner and I have been ttc for over two years and are finally being allowed to start NHS ivf next month. I wish now that we'd just gone for a private option from the beginning, but the NHS option always seemed only just out of reach, and silly to waste our one funded chance!

I'm quite worried about my age; I seem to have decent afc and hormone levels, but obv that means nothing for egg quality, and I have had a lot of fibroid problems which also delayed our starting. Never been pregnant so no idea if I am liable to miscarriages. My partner has had some sperm issues too though recently improved.

I just can't wait to start; it seems crazy that we've been at this for years and haven't even tried ivf yet. I'm going a bit bananas since we found out on Friday that we can start - can't stop reading everything about it (mostly all stuff I've read before dozens of time!!)

Anxiousbuthopeful · 12/09/2023 00:37

Thinking of you @Woodcottage1

Tiredkittens · 12/09/2023 07:38

@Woodcottage1 I'm so sorry this happened to you. I read through the thread too quickly last night and didn't see the last few posts - sorry for not acknowledging it.

It is horrendous. I'm thinking of you and hoping you have time/space to be gentle with yourself and recover.

Wishing you all the best with it @Tiredkittens
How long did it take from the initial appointment to getting the go ahead? Was it quick? I am looking to start either privately next month or November depending on when my OH is in the country. We have the option of trying the NHS funded cycle but I was worried it would take too long.

Tiredkittens · 12/09/2023 08:41

@ThesisthenaViva I think we've had a particularly difficult time getting referred, but I don't know how common these issues are. We were referred for fertility investigations by our GP in May 2022. She suggested we have those done at our local hospital instead of the main fertility clinic 'because it would be quicker'. In the end the local hospital were a nightmare - took until August to get a first (phone) appointment. In the meantime my partner's semen analysis had already shown we had MFI. Despite this it took months more to get additional tests and scans, and then until Feb this year to get a second phone appointment to agree to refer us for ivf, even though everyone already knew we would need icsi. Then the consultant failed to make the referral properly anyway. It didn't get to the fertility hospital. Chased and eventually got our first appointment there in June. We thought we could start straight away but then my scan showed fibroids that still needed treating, so have been off sorting that out the last few months.

This is obviously extreme delays and errors/things going wrong, but given the state of the NHS atm, I would assume it will take a while. It's been 18 months from referral to starting IVF. I thought it was stupid to miss out on a 'free' go but now I worry it would have worked better at 39 (I'll be 41 by the time we start). Maybe I will change my tune if this all works first time (but that seems unlikely!) So honestly if you can afford it I would go ahead now.
