FET/IVF - January 2023

Hey

I would love to get a group together of some of us who are undergoing IVF or FETs in Jan. I found it really helpful to have the support of those going through similar last time (Nov 2020).

My story: I am due to start my first FET in January of my one and only frozen embryo. The embryo is from a cycle in Nov 2020 when I was almost 36. I have low AMH and AFC and it was my first and only NHS round. I got 4 eggs all which miraculously fertilised, 1 made it to day 5 and was put back in with a fresh transfer. Sadly it did not stick. 1 egg was left until day 6 and it finally made it to blastocyst. It has been frozen. Rather than having a FET back then they advised me to do a banking package of 3 cycles due to my low AMH/AFC so in Jan 2021 we started our first private IVF cycle with the same clinic (Kings). Once again I was on max stims (gonal f and menopur) and it looked like we would get 4 eggs again but when I woke from EC they told me they only got 2. I had a bit of a breakdown. I was so upset going through all that including over £2k worth of drugs injected to only get two eggs. It felt even worse as I had let myself hope it would go well. Out of the 2 eggs only 1 fertilised normally. On day 3 the embryologist told me it was average quality and she wasn't sure it would be good enough to freeze on day 5 if it even made it that far. I couldn't handle the thought of going through all that mental anguish to not have anything to freeze so I made a last minute decision to go in for a day 3 fresh transfer. I had zero expectations but somehow that average embryo stuck. I was so stressed all pregnancy and worried about everything but amazingly I gave birth to my first baby in Sep 2021. He is now 14 months and I am turning 38 in 2 weeks.

Now it is time to get back on the IVF/FET train. I have been for my initial scan and blood tests. The scan was fine. Still not many follicles but not significantly worse. Waiting for a consult with the Dr next week for an update on my AMH (can't wait.... ) where she'll also decide on our protocol. I am leaning towards a medicated FET just so we can plan it a bit better. If that doesn't work then it is back to a 3 cycle package of IVF.

I hope I haven't bored anyone reading this to tears. Would be great if anyone else out there would like to be a cycle buddy? :-)

@MsSandyToes I also have sore boobs but I've had them since I started progesterone. It's just the cramps that started on 1dpt that's confusing me. The cramps are stronger now than they were a few days ago. Although it's still most likely due to progesterone I think.

Frosty91 · 29/01/2023 22:38

@MsSandyToes Thankyou so much 💕 sometimes I have doubts revealing good news on here if you know what I mean. I feel not everyone will be happy for you. But thankyou 💕 I pray everything works out for you too. This month is a blessings month xx

Lauralozzle · 30/01/2023 04:36

@Frosty91 Congratulations! 🎉 That’s amazing news!

laurapop · 30/01/2023 07:37

@acaciabluebell I remember having period pains last time, I was convinced by period was going to come but it didn't and I was pregnant 😊. Like others have said, try not to worry about that as it could be a very good sign. Equally though I was just like you so I get the panic!!

Claireabella05 · 30/01/2023 07:56

@Frosty91 a massive congratulations on your bfp!!

@acaciabluebell I had the same on 2pd and 3dp, felt just like af pains, but they have stopped now so i would say its normal, i had a panic too...I feel that my symptoms are disappearing, well the cramps anyway, so kind of wishing they were still here lol...I'm just getting the odd pain or twinge every once in a while, also feeling quite nauseous and hot sweats at night but I am putting that down to the progesterone, most of the time I feel normal which is worrying me.

Claireabella05 · 30/01/2023 07:57

I went for a little walk this morning before work to take my mind of it and just trying to keep myself busy as much as I can, as its not good to think in this 2ww haha

Frosty91 · 30/01/2023 08:23

@Claireabella05 @Lauralozzle Thankyou so much 💕 how are you both getting on?
@Claireabella05 keeping yourself busy is the best way. Twinges are good👍 the symptoms I got was 1dpt to 4dpt out of breath, sore boobs. Mild cramps. Dirohea 🙈 5dpt out of breath and just waking up at 5am starving and running down to eat something. 6dpt out of breath & hunger at 5am. I only got cramps till 4dpt X

Claireabella05 · 30/01/2023 08:47

Thanks @Frosty91 that's made me feel more reassured, I really hope i get a bfp too 😪

Claireabella05 · 30/01/2023 08:47

Good luck to those having their EC's today ❤

Frosty91 · 30/01/2023 09:16

@Lauralozzle I pray that you will. When is your official testing date?. Highly recommend to use the first response and then the digital clear blue I used it 7 days before my period. Always remember every body is different some feel nothing at all and still get BFP💗

Frosty91 · 30/01/2023 09:17

@Lauralozzle I was meant to tag @Claireabella05 I pray that you will. When is your official testing date?. Highly recommend to use the first response and then the digital clear blue I used it 7 days before my period. Always remember every body is different some feel nothing at all and still get BFP💗

Claireabella05 · 30/01/2023 09:29

@Frosty91 thank you, my test date is the 6th Feb, but going to hold out till test day, as on my fresh cycle I had a chemical and found it more difficult to handle, so going to try and hold out.

Frosty91 · 30/01/2023 09:33

@Claireabella05 same official testing day as me💗 one week to go you got this 💕 have faith. I know loads of people who have had chemicals and next one is BFP🤞
Also symptom update 6dpt today I am getting white clear discharge.

ali2021 · 30/01/2023 09:52

@Claireabella05 I am the exact same as you, worrying about lack of symptoms! Think I'm one day behind you. I have lower back ache since transfer and similarly had the odd twinge here and there, but I've no idea if it's embryo related or not 😄 @Frosty91 Huge congrats! Did you transfer one or two embryos?

Littlelouie82 · 30/01/2023 10:04

I’ve been a little quiet as I’ve got in my own head and had a little wobble yesterday. Im not really getting any symptoms.
Slightly sore boobs but not having any cramping or anything. Xxx

JuliaIVF83 · 30/01/2023 10:14

Morning everyone - I got a clear BFP this morning on a FRER, trying to keep my feet on the ground until bloods on Thursday as we all know how quickly things can change but praying my little bean continues to stick. Also for all those symptom spotting - I haven't noticeably had any and convinced myself that I was out so just shows that it really is different for everyone. Best of luck everyone this week xxx

countrypunk · 30/01/2023 10:19

The symptom spotting is enough to drive us all mad. I know, I'm doing it myself. But we need to remember that symptoms or the lack of don't mean anything. Pre menstrual and early pregnancy symptoms are indistinguishable and the side effects of progesterone mimic both! I've also read of loads of women who don't have any symptoms at all and end up with a BFP.

So we just don't know until test day. Sending love to everyone in the TWW, it's a special kind of mental torture!

Frosty91 · 30/01/2023 10:19

@ali2021 thankyou so much. It was one embryo 6 day 5 date transfer 5BA grading. I got a postive from 3dpt and a digital blue on 5dpt.. so I wondering why my HCG levels are high early on🙈💕 feeling postive. And don't worry too much about symptoms I know people who have had none till 6 7 weeks and have been pregnant x praying for you. Where is your testing date x

countrypunk · 30/01/2023 10:20

Cross posted with @JuliaIVF83 - massive congratulations to you! ♥️♥️♥️

Frosty91 · 30/01/2023 10:20

@ali2021 I type so fast make errors lol a 6 day embryo on a 5 day transfer x

Claireabella05 · 30/01/2023 10:28

@Littlelouie82 @ali2021 looks like we all have a lack of symptoms, like the others have said we have to just stay strong ...If I'm honest, i don't think symptoms always mean anything, as with my previously failed cycles I had all the symptoms so it just shows really its the medication, all we can do is wish and pray 🙏
Congratulations @JuliaIVF83

There are so many BFPs on this group its crazy haha

MsSandyToes · 30/01/2023 10:32

@JuliaIVF83 Huge congratulations! 🥳

AnnaPr1992 · 30/01/2023 10:33

@JuliaIVF83 iam sooo happy for you 🥹♥️ congratulations 🎉 and I wish allllll the best with your pregnancy 🥰 look after yourself ♥️♥️♥️

JuliaIVF83 · 30/01/2023 10:42

Thanks everyone !! Isn't it amazing how much we all root for each other! I just love it - my husband was busy telling me not to get too excited this morning and saying all the sensible things but I think when you've been trying for as long as some of us its important to celebrate the small wins! lots of sticky vibes everyone 😘xxx

Jane1284 · 30/01/2023 10:49

Congratulations @Frosty91 - wonderful news and really good strong lines! I had a look into weeks indicators myself to understand the different thresholds and came across this uk.clearblue.com/sites/default/files/hcp_cb9_professional_brochure.pdf
so 1-2 weeks is HCG above 10.

Congratulations @JuliaIVF83 - please enjoy your positive. IVF takes so much excitement away from us I really hope you celebrate your win :)

Good luck to the rest of you in your TWW. Enjoy being PUPO!
