Hello,

My partner and I need IVF due to MFI. We are hoping to start treatment in January 2023.

I had my fertility ultrasound scans today and these are my results:

AFC -

Left Ovary - 13 follicles
Right Ovary - 14 follicles

My Endo thickness was 7.3mm (cycle day 10).

I have no masses, cysts, fluid etc - everything looked smooth and normal.
How do these results seem?

I was also told I have a retroverted uterus - will this affect IVF?
Thank you

Thanks @Autumbreeze ☺️
Did your OH have surgical sperm retrieval too?
Which vitamins are you looking at taking? I’m sure you taking 11 tablets a day after reading ‘it starts with the egg’ 🙈🤣 no idea if they’ve made a difference until they get these eggs out and see if they’re nice healthy ones but I figured anything that helps ay !

also been having Accupuncture which I haven’t really enjoyed to be honest, but again, anything that may help 🙈

Brown269 · 24/02/2023 15:00

**I’m currently taking 11 tablets a day

bloody auto correct 🤣

Autumbreeze · 24/02/2023 15:11

@Brown269 I've hear about that book. I've not read it though. Is it worth a read? What are you taking? I've just started a new conception vitamin with all sorts of stuff. I'm thinking of starting a separate CoEnzyme Q10 tablet and omega 3. But then at the same time I don't want to take to much. It's so bloody confusing... I was only taking folic acid and Vit D before. @Sj2505 also said about seed cycling so I'm going to try that to I think. But I've realise now my first egg collection they only got two eggs because they couldn't get to my right ovary as it was to high, they didn't even try and that's the one that makes the most. They definitely tried this time as I felt it after egg collection 😂

I was thinking of trying acupuncture but I don't like needles so not sure how I'd find it. How often are you going? Does your husband do you injections for you? Mine has to do all of them... I hate them so much. I was on fyrmedol to.

zarascan47 · 24/02/2023 15:17

@Autumbreeze holding in there nausea setting in abit now and had some dull ache in my side on my left but nothing too painful so trying to not read anything into it and keep busy. i still do test strips and both lines dark red now friday march 3rd cant come soon enough i just keep worrying its eptopic but think im panicking over nothing

Brown269 · 24/02/2023 15:19

@Autumbreeze it is worth a read, but it does also make you a bit scared about how much stuff can affect egg quality and some of the vitamins aren’t available in the uk so can make you feel a little like you’re not doing as much as you can to help 🙈 I’m taking:
pregnacare pre-conception
200mg CoQ10 3 times a day
Vitamin D
Vitamin E
Alpha-lipoic acid
N-acetylcysteine
Active Folic
Omega 3
B12

my follicles are split pretty evenly over both ovaries so really hoping they can get to both 🤞🏼😬

Yeah, I really don’t like needles so he does them for me, I really want to try and give one to myself before we’re finished but I’m really not sure I’ll be able to 🙈
Thats why I don’t like the Accupuncture to be honest but after seeing quite a few things about how it helps with IVF I thought I’d give it a try and luckily the lady I’ve been going to for massages for about 7/8 years is qualified in it so it helps that I already trusted her.
I’ve had it twice so far, going again Sunday then I will go the day after transfer day 🤞🏼🤞🏼 so 5 times in total. Not cheap at £30 a session but as this is my only free nhs round I’m sort of ok with paying for any extras to try and get the most out of this round as I can.

Just going to Google seed cycling now as I’ve never heard of it - maybe something new for me to obsess over 🤣

Autumbreeze · 24/02/2023 15:29

@zarascan47 I'm sure it'll all be fine on the 3rd. You'll get to see your little baby and it'll be amazing!! Only a week to go now! How exciting! I get you feeling worries... I think with IVF it never really goes away! But after your scan I hope you start to enjoy it a little bit more.

@Brown269 that is a list! I'm going to be adding extras now I think. So you space out the CoQ10. The multi Vit I'm taking has it in it but I'm thinking of adding more. Yea I'd not heard of seed cycling to but it's very interesting! I'm willing to give anything a go. Yeah I definitely couldn't give a go at injected myself.... the girls who to it I have a lot of respect for. I'm such a baby! I had to do clexane to and it's the worse... for me anyway 😂.

Brown269 · 24/02/2023 15:34

@Autumbreeze Yeah, aparently anything over 200mg and your body just won’t absorb it as it’s too much, so I just have a tablet with each meal to hopefully get it all in there 🙈
I was a bit worried about taking too much but aparently you can’t overdose on vitamins, your body will only take what it needs and the rest will just be disposed of or pooled for later use so I figured I’d just take everything and let my body decide what it does and doesn’t want to use 🤷🏼‍♀️
Agreed, I had to stop my hubby going to the football cause I was too worried he wouldn’t be back to do my injection and knew I’d chicken out if left to do it myself 🤣 so hats off to anyone who can 🙈

Autumbreeze · 24/02/2023 15:45

Same @Brown269 he has a works do and has to go later so he could inject me first 😂 he's a good egg though! Your husband sounds the same. Are you long protocol? We had two NHS rounds. Now we have to go private. I was saying our NHS you can pay private with and it's so much cheaper. But I've not been very happy with them. Feel a bit let out down to be honest so we may use a private clinic not to far from us. It's £225 for a consultation and tests so pretty good really.

I am on meds as well hydroxychloroquine but I stopped taking them with IVF as I worried what they may do even though the doctor did say they would be fine. But then I read somewhere they could actually help... typical... so I've just stared taking them again! I hate taking them though 😂

MsSandyToes · 24/02/2023 15:58

Welcome @Brown269 sounds like you're doing everything in your power to me. I also did accupunture, I started after I wasn't responding to stims and then went 4 times before egg collection and on the day of the transfer. I think it really helped. At least to calm me down if nothing else. 😊

@Sj2505 I hope they manage to get to both sides but at the very worst at least it sounds like you have lots on the other side. 🤞 they get them all though.

@User491 I hope it's sooner than summer for you too. Hopefully you'll have a date to work towards soon.

@Lauralozzle I'm glad you are also starting to feel better in yourself. Hopefully at the meeting they will have some answers or at the very least ideas for a better fertilisation rate next time.

@Autumbreeze it sounds like you're in a positive place too getting healthy and trying new supplements etc.

@zarascan47 the wait is making me really nervous too. One of the girls in another thread went at exactly 7 weeks and there was no heartbeat which is my worst nightmare. Completely irrationally it made me feel the need to start POAS again - just the cheapies but I find I can't help myself! I thought the worry would stop after a positive but it's still the same at the moment. 😬

Thank you all for asking, I'm OK a bit naseaus at times and I have lower back pain/cramps but the main symptom is the tiredness. Hopefully I'll get some energy back soon! I can't wait for next Wednesday and the viability scan. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. 🌻

Brown269 · 24/02/2023 16:29

@Autumbreeze I’m on short protocol, which I was quite glad about as we were due to start last month but got pushed back as I had no rubella immunity so had to have a vax and wait for that to kick in so was glad to get started quickly!
If we need another full round we’d be staying with the nhs clinic we’re with as hubbys sperm retrieval op would be £2.5k+ private and they already have it frozen there so we’re better off staying there and using up what they managed to get out of him!
Ive never heard of that - what’s it for? The only meds I took before ivf was buscopan and kalms and stoped taking both just in case 🙈

@MsSandyToes thank you ☺️
Glad to hear Accupuncture helped you, spurs me on to keep doing it even though when she puts that needle in my head I want to cry 🤣🤣
I hope you’re feeling better soon and will keep my fingers crossed for your scan Wednesday 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Lauralozzle · 24/02/2023 22:37

@Brown269 You’re right, I think of letting my hair down and order McDonald’s and drink alcohol. Although no McDonald’s today, I’ve been good (ish) on that front. Might have had half a bottle of red wine though! Oops 🙊

@Autumbreeze I’m sorry you have a never ending period too! I do think the spotting is slowing down today. CM is starting to feel a bit wet too, even with the brown tinge, so I’ll find my LH sticks to see if my cycle is getting back to normal. I think this month it’ll be a bit all over the place!

Yes, this Monday I have the follow up. 10:15. I asked to use flexi time for it, but my manager said don’t and just put it down as a medical app and credit the time back, which is great! Means I don’t use up my flexi and I can use that for extra holidays!! Yippee 🥳

I’m allowing myself cocoa- but no chocolate and using cocoa means I’d have to bake and I can’t be arsed with that! No chocolate had today though. It’s tough… I’ll soon be out of sweet things at home! I’ll be at the sugar jar next 😂

I need to get better with my tablets/vits. I’ve been taking COQ10 in one go otherwise I’ll probably forget it, but I should really space it out. Especially if it won’t absorb properly. I gave quite a collection from It starts with the egg book but I’m so shit at remembering to take them!

It would be lovely to share another cycle with you @Autumbreeze and @User491 again 😊 Hopefully no-one else will need another cycle.

Lauralozzle · 24/02/2023 22:43

@MsSandyToes Do let us know how you get on next week at your scan!

You’re right, hopefully come Monday we’ll have an idea about why our fertilisation rate was rubbish.

I’ve just started watching that Alex Jones program. I couldn’t face it before, but it’s quite good. As horrible as it sounds, I’m glad it’s not all positive stories! There’s a realism to it which I have appreciated. It makes me wanna get injected again though and go again!

User491 · 25/02/2023 10:07

Welcome @Brown269 so nice you and @Sj2505 are going to be close dates wise, yous can help keep each other sane haha!

@Sj2505 thank you!
Aww that's amazing news for mondau, bet you are so ready for it now, even if it is a freeze all cycle, gives you time to recover and be ready for transfer 🥰

@Lauralozzle bless you, yes you will be exhausted! Make the most of this weekend relax and enjoy thst walk, then all set for Mondays app ❤️
Well done for giving up the chocolate, I don't think I could 🙈 I don't eat a lot of it, but I like a treat on a night time 🤣 I actually ate a full tub of Ben and Jerrys Thursday night tho😱
I'm going back to my calorie counting on Monday, I'm going shopping today to get all the foods in. I always include a pudding on a night in my calories though as I always need something haha!
My downfall and probably the worst one to have is wine 🙈🤣

@Autumbreeze it would be lovely for us 3 to be on the journey again together 🤞🏻 hopefully it works out that way ☺️
I'm going to look into more vitamins, I've only been on the vitamin d and folic acid. I've bought some berocca to try give me a bit of energy though for now.

@MsSandyToes I really hope so 🤞🏻 Wednesday will fly in 🥰

@Lauralozzle I love the programme, I watched it last night, and I am the same, so pleased it's real, and honest journeys, all the ups and downs etc. I felt the same last night, get me back on them jabs!! Hopefully it will come for us both soon 🤞🏻❤️

Autumbreeze · 26/02/2023 09:53

@User491 I was just asking folic acid and vitamin D to. Been trying to research and my head hurts but I think I know what I'm going to take now 😂 I'm trying to 'eat better' but we've had three take away in a row and I bought a beautiful slice of chocolate fudge cake from out local sweet shop! From the 1st March I'll start being good... maybe! I'v still not had any tea or pop though. Just drinking water and milk.

@Lauralozzle think it's finally slowing down now... still bleeding the littlest bit so hoping I'm done now to start the week. How you feeling about tomorrow's appointment? So good you didn't have to wait to long. You done anything nice this weekend?

@Brown269 I as short protocol the second time. It worked a lot better for me if I'm honest. I'd say less injections to but I actually had more to do each day. I have antiphospholipid syndrome.... I only know I have it as my mam has it... so I've not really been effected by it. But that's why I take hydroxychloroquine (when I can be bothered to take it) and why I had clexane injections. I might ask for aspirin next time to. How are you today? What days do you have your scans this week?

Lauralozzle · 26/02/2023 11:25

@Autumbreeze we’ve ended up having a lazy weekend, but it’s been nice. Period has finally stopped now, LH tests are back out too. It’ll be nice to see how long it takes for my body and cycles to get back to normal.

We have decided where we’ll go for a break though! Munich. So I’ve spent time researching that which I’ve enjoyed!

@User491 I’m with you starting calorie counting come Monday. Now everything has settled, I’m in a better place mentally this weekend so I’ll start back on that and start running again too. I think the exercise will be good for me. There’s a new gym thats cheaper opening end of next month which I think I’ll join too.

Sj2505 · 26/02/2023 16:20

Hey. Sorry I've been quiet this weekend, I've had family staying.
Hope you've all had nice weekends.

@Lauralozzle Munich sounds nice! Glad the bleeding has finally stopped. Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.

@Brown269 how are you getting on with stims? When do you have your scans?

I did my trigger shot last night at 2315 ☺️
I've not been allowed to eat solids today due to the bowel prep meds I've had to take, hopefully it'll work and that will bring the left ovary down tomorrow.

Brown269 · 26/02/2023 16:49

@Autumbreeze glad to hear you found short protocol worked well, gives me more optimism 🥰
I’ve never heard of that, glad you don’t have symptoms though, hope it stays that way for you 🙏🏼
I’ve got scans Monday & Wednesday, and hopefully EC Friday all being well 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Sj2505 How are you feeling after the trigger shot? Is your op 11am tomorrow then?
I’m feeling ok, my tummy feels pretty heavy today and I’m quite moody so hoping that means my ovaries have done a bit more growing I’ve the weekend haha but will see tomorrow on the scan 🤞🏼

@Lauralozzle I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and glad to see you’re feeling better after a chilled weekend 🙏🏼

MsSandyToes · 26/02/2023 18:08

@Sj2505 Good luck for tomorrow. Hope it all goes well. I've got Crohn's and the bowel prep meds are the worst, you poor thing!

@Brown269 good luck for your scan tomorrow too.

@Lauralozzle will be thinking of you. Hope you get some good answers and a plan of action.

Brown269 · 26/02/2023 18:09

Thanks @MsSandyToes 🥰

Sj2505 · 26/02/2023 18:51

@Brown269 I don't feel too bad after the trigger. I'm now starting to feel more bloated and I've had occasional sharp twinges. I've been feeling quite nauseous on and off today, but I don't know if it's the trigger or the Picolax.
Yes I am booked for EC at 1045.
Hope your scan tomorrow goes well!

@MsSandyToes thank you. The bowel prep isn't great 😆 but I'm happy if it's going to bring that ovary down.

Brown269 · 26/02/2023 18:52

@Sj2505 Glad to hear it isn’t too bad then 🙏🏼
I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow, I hope it all goes well and they get you nice of eggys ❤️

Autumbreeze · 26/02/2023 22:11

Good luck for tomorrow @Sj2505 @Brown269 and @Lauralozzle busy Monday for our little group ☺️ let us know how you all get on xx

Brown269 · 27/02/2023 07:25

Thank you @Autumbreeze 🥰❤️

Just on my way now 😬🤞🏼

@Sj2505 & @Lauralozzle will be thinking of you today and sending lots of good luck vibes ❤️

Sj2505 · 27/02/2023 09:03

@Autumbreeze @Brown269 thank you.

I'm now on my way too, starting to feel anxious 😬🤞🏼

Brown269 · 27/02/2023 09:58

@Sj2505 I bet you are 😬 but I’m sure it’ll all go fine and they’ll get all your nice eggs out 🥰

I’ve just came out, follicles still growing nicely and they spotted a few more today so I’m up to 15 in total 🥳 one was at 22mm so they said I’d most likely lose that one but all the others are at about 12-14mm so looking good for EC still being Friday 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hope you’re all having a peaceful Monday in this awful weather 🫣
