IVF cycle November 2022

Hi ladies

Just wondering if anyone is doing a cycle in November, looking for some cycle buddies.

I started stims yesterday, this is the 3rd cycle for us (2 NHS rounds where we didn't make it to transfer either time) and now we have signed up to a private a 3 cycle package with Create in Manchester. 3 egg collections and hopefully some embryo banking before and potential transfer. X

Thank you ladies. Your support means so much! ♥️

@Foreverhoping33 I know exactly what you mean - all my friends have finished their babymaking. I definitely romanticise having twins, even though we have some friends with twins and it looks mega hard.

HJen22 · 21/01/2023 21:26

@countrypunk fantastic news lovely! So happy to hear that! All the very best tomorrow, will be thinking of you 💕

@Manc80 don't ever feel bad about asking questions to your clinic! High maintenance all the way, I would really hope that every clinic would understand that we all want the very best care and chance x

@FullofFaith welcome 🥰 I'm not sure I fully understand your protocol. Are the tablets to control your cycle? I did that with my NHS cycle and it's just so that they can schedule. Xx

@Foreverhoping33 Lovely to have you back and hear from you again. Have been wondering how you are 😘. Holiday definitely was a good shout! I know exactly the feeling of wanting and waiting for a negative test, it just shows how mad the whole process is! It's really great you've got 2 more in the freezer to try. They won't allow a double transfer at my clinic either. Wishing for a speedy and smooth recovery x.

@CNizzle Gosh you really have had a tough time you poor thing! I'd have been totally the same and don't ever feel bad for needing time out. Trying for a family and having pregnancies end early is without doubt the most difficult experience of my life, and I do think it has changed me as a person. I'd really hold onto the fact you were able to get pregnant and implant as a positive sign. Miscarriage rate is unfortunately very high but people often go on and succeed later 🤞🙂.

@Crystal88

Cat89 · 22/01/2023 09:58

Urgh, it sent too soon sorry!
@countrypunk Amazing update!! Wishing you all the best for today ❤️❤️. Let us know how it goes xx.

@HJen22 I can totally understand your frustration with not feeling you've had a proper shot yet. You've also had a particularly hard time from reading your story, but you're doing amazing already this time round and still have plenty more opportunities to collect more embryos 😊😊. I hope you're feeling more positive with results so far x

FullofFaith · 22/01/2023 09:59

Good Morning

Thank you all for responding, I really appreciate it.

@HJen22 the nurse said it's so that they cam take control of my body and cycle, which I understand. By the 21 day wait is what confuses me. If I were to start taking the meds on day 1, that would make better sense. I will be seeking further clarity tomorrow morning and once I receive a response, I will share just in case there is anyone else who wants to understand this short protocol x

HJen22 · 22/01/2023 10:10

@FullofFaith yeah so that's what I did with norethisterone tablets and started them day 21 too. I think you take them day 21 to basically make your cycle longer/suit them and your period come when they want it to come, think it's relatively common with NHS cycles. Then you start officially the next cycle. Basically your period won't come on cycle day 26, you'll take the tablets until they say, then a period will come a few days later once you've stopped the tablets. For example I had a 35 day cycle the month I was on the pill prior to my ivf cycle. With my private cycles they didn't do that as they had no waiting list - I just called cycle day 1.

@Cat89 thank you lovely, hoping to finally get to transfer this next cycle 🙏🏻 having three frosties certainly makes me feel better but the fear is still there, no two cycles go the same. But I am remaining positive 🤞🏻❤️ how are you feeling?

All done, embryo transferred! My OTD isn't until 2 February which is the day before my birthday. So it's either going to be the best birthday ever or a really really shit one.

Thank you again for all your lovely wishes. Xx

Manc80 · 22/01/2023 18:04

Glad it all went well @countrypunk congratulations on being PUPO! 💗

HJen22 · 22/01/2023 18:06

Thank you everyone ♥️♥️♥️

HJen22 · 22/01/2023 18:31

I have cried so many times this week haha and not even started stims yet! My mum and dad came out on Friday with a lovely bag of treats for going away and my sister sent such a lovely necklace and eye mask set and with the sweetest notes saying not to forget how truly wonderful we are 🥹

Crystal88 · 22/01/2023 18:41

@countrypunk sending positive vibes

@HJen22 glad your being spoiled you are worth it

update on me I have gone longer than week without a period, after having two very short periods after failure

if my cycle is back to normal should have my period next Saturday but I am guessing it will be early has I have a few symptoms today

I am so keen to start again but I know I need to give my body time, and I’ve agreed with my other half we will start In May again after holiday. Might not be able to wait that long though as I’m inpatient lol xx

countrypunk · 22/01/2023 18:57

@Crystal88 Thank you ♥️ Fab - it sounds like your body's well on the way to recovery and normality now. I totally get your impatience (I'm the same) but a holiday before diving back in sounds like an excellent idea.

@HJen22 Your family sound lovely. Are you starting again tomorrow? Best of luck, I'll be thinking of you lots. And I'm totally with you on the tears - I cried on the way to the transfer, during, and when we got back in the car. They just keep coming! Xx

Foreverhoping33 · 22/01/2023 20:04

@countrypunk ahhh congratulations on being PUPO! I hope you can relax over the next two weeks and try to enjoy it as much as possible!

@HJen22 oh how lovely are your family! Are you starting again this week? Sending lots of love and best wishes!

@Cat89 thanks for your lovely message, I am doing well! I have been following along with your updates too and am so pleased to hear everything is going well. I hope the anxiety reduces especially when you get to 12weeks but understand the worries too.
yer I think my clinic were very against a double transfer too. Think I will follow their advice tbh.

HJen22 · 22/01/2023 20:20

@Crystal88 thank you, how lovely of you to say that. That's great your cycle is looking back to your usual! I know what you mean about wanting to go again, but at the same time wanting a break. A holiday is a great idea - we didn't do anything between our failed cycle in June until our November cycle with a holiday in September and it did us both the world of good. I'm so glad we had it booked and I really enjoyed the time away and surprisingly managed to switch off more than I ever imagined I'd be able to.

@countrypunk thank you lovely 🥰 my period hasn't arrived yet but I'll start meds the day after it does! Could come anywhere from tomorrow I think! Aww I can imagine that's such an emotional experience, I will cry that entire day I am sure. How are you feeling? I hope you had a nice restful day and get the best ever birthday present 💕

HJen22 · 22/01/2023 20:21

@Foreverhoping33 sorry I hadn't seen your message. Yes I am very lucky to have them all supporting us ❤️ waiting on AF to arrive then I'll start cycle day 2, should be over the next few days 🤞🏻 how are you? X

Foreverhoping33 · 22/01/2023 21:01

@HJen22 oh how exciting! And a transfer for sure this round! You must be counting down the days!

i am good, really enjoying hearing everyone’s updates and progress! Think I will try and do a FET next month which would be great but I also feel quite relaxed about it right now which is nice and relatively new!

countrypunk · 22/01/2023 21:09

@HJen22 I'll do a little period dance for you before I go to bed tonight 💃🏽🩸
I feel good! My partner was abroad with work for my first transfer so it was bloody wonderful to have him there today. We had a lovely afternoon afterwards - took the dog for a walk and then got fish and chips. Actually I haven't stopped eating all day. I'm stuffed.

@Foreverhoping33 Thank you!! I'm gonna do bugger all for the next two weeks. Fantastic that you're feeling relaxed about things. Long may it continue ♥️

Hopewishprayer · 23/01/2023 08:00

@countrypunk congratulations on being PUPO I hope this is a little sticky one!!

@Foreverhoping33 welcome back, glad you had a nice break and ready to go again. I noticed the advice had changed more strongly towards a single transfer when I was last in for EC in Nov, even more so than previously, I wonder if there’s been new or updated guidance.

out DE have arrived at our clinic, just waiting on hubbys frozen straws to be transported and we are good to go! We have our counselling appointment this week and also planning appointment for dates and protocol so it’s all happening! Been trying to plan 40th birthday celebrations around everything which has been rather challenging 🙈

hope everyone has a good week 💕

Cat89 · 23/01/2023 08:19

@countrypunk Yayy congrats on your transfer, such great news! Fingers crossed for the next 2 weeks you'll get your BFP 🤞

@HJen22 Very exciting times ahead for you, it must feel so good knowing you'll definitely have a transfer this time? Your family sound amazing and I'm glad you're being looked after so we'll 😊.

@Foreverhoping33 I'm so pleased you're in a good headspace after everything you've been through. Respect! It will come round so quickly for next try and I have everything crossed for you xx

@Hopewishprayer eek not long now! I'm really looking forward to hearing your updates for DE IVF. Let's get your happy ending! 💪😊

@Crystal88 A holiday sounds fab, and it'll get you all relaxed and in a good place ready to go again. I totally get the wait being frustrating tho, last yr after failed pregnancy in Feb I took a break and didn't start IVF until Nov, but it was worth it and no regrets! 😊

countrypunk · 23/01/2023 09:04

Thank you @Cat89, I hope you're doing really well! Xx

@Hopewishprayer Thank you too. Lovely update from you, things are really moving forward. Very exciting. Is it your 40th birthday? Also exciting! Xx

Hopewishprayer · 23/01/2023 13:04

@Cat89 thank you! Hope all is well with you. Will keep you posted!

@countrypunk yes the big 40! Although I think will be a sober one as some of my celebrations will be in lead up to transfer 🙈 and hoping by time my birthday comes I will have had a BFP! 🤞🏻

HJen22 · 25/01/2023 14:24

@countrypunk how are you surviving the tww lovely? I hope you're doing ok!

No AF for me yet but it is predicted for tomorrow so 🤞🏻 really hope so as we're heading down to Manchester Saturday! All my guestimated dates are going to mess up if it doesn't come tomorrow 🙈 difficult knowing when to book accommodation even when the airbnb lady has been super understanding! I have cried a lot recently though so must be soon!!

@Hopewishprayer that's fab news your DE have arrived 💕 have you had your counselling and planning calls? Exciting making 40th birthday plans too!

I hope everyone else is going well ❤️

@HJen22 Hello! I'm alright. God it drags... I've convinced myself that both of my embryos were abnormal and that's why the first didn't implant and why this one won't either! So you know, fun and games. I'd like to switch myself off until OTD and then back on again.

Oh I REALLY hope your pesky period arrives. When you don't want it, it comes, when you do, it doesn't. Stupid hormones. Are you taking time off or working remotely?

@Hopewishprayer I so hope we both get birthday BFPs! ♥️ My bday this year is either going to be extremely sober or extremely pissed.

Does anyone here know much about pre genetic screening? I keep reading conflicting opinions of it. Wondering if it's something to explore for next cycle... a friend of mine did it and half of her embryos were abnormal, but I've read they can self-correct and still go on to develop into healthy babies.
