Hi everyone - just wondering if there is anyone out there who has recently had their embryo transfer or going through their ICSI treatment now?

I had my embryo transfer (5AA grade) this weekend and feel a bit surreal!

It would be lovely to speak with anyone whose going through it right now xxx

Hi,

I have just had my embryo transfer today, (ICSI) same grading also.

I knew i was going to feel emotional but didnt realise just how much.

How did you feel after? Xx

peanutpending · 01/11/2022 21:26

Hey @Cjacko aw congratulations! Well I cried during the whole thing as I was very overwhelmed and then cried on the way home lol. I felt very uncomfortable for the first 2 days in my abdomen. I struggled to walk as they had collected 28 eggs so was very tender! Sitting up in bed was quite difficult too so I needed pulling up sometimes! After that I was absolutely fine! I am 3 days post transfer and feel tired during periods of the day and had some twinges but I'm also taking progesterone so know a lot of the symptoms can come from that! Xxx

So sorry I'm getting completely confused! I was talking about the collection initially haha sorry!!

Yes after the transfer I felt worried about moving at all but was assured that I'd be fine and it wouldn't fall out haha! I rested but kept moving as well to keep the blood flow going! I've been drinking as much water as I can. Generally I've felt good part from some quite bad mood swings (poor hubby).

Hi I just had my 1st embryo transfer, and I'm 8days post transfer. I have had cramps all the way through just hope it's not a bad sign, xx

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 06:24

Hi @Pippamorgan - congrats! This is my first ICSI transfer and I am 7dp5dt. I've noticed really mild period like cramps over the last couple of days :( they are weird as they are so mild and literally come on intermittently. One moment they are there and then they aren't! I've not had any spotting. Have you had something similar? I think the wait is much worse when you know something is in there! Xx

I had a transfer on 27th Oct, and got a bfp on 4dp5dt! I thought having a BFP would be the end of all anxiety but I'm absolutely freaking out about line darkness and low HCG levels now, it's been a rollercoaster week. It was my second transfer, but first frozen one of a top grade embryo. I've got bloods booked today to see if they've risen 🤞

Are you getting any other symptoms?

Imisscoffee2021 · 05/11/2022 06:58

I had cramps all the way, intermittent too :)

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 08:03

Congratulations @Imisscoffee2021 Flowers that's such great news!!! Erghhh I bet the anxiety doesn't stop!

Ours was a fresh transfer and luckily I didn't get OHS as they retrieved 28 eggs! Ours was transferred as a 5AA hatching blast so they were quite pleased. Everything went well which makes me more paranoid haha!

Oh did you? That's reassuring! Yeah they will come on all of a sudden and then disappear! Did yours feel like your usual period cramps! If I was conceiving naturally this would be when I'd usually start my period. That's why I worry it's trying to break through but the progesterone won't let it. I had some bad stabbing pains on one side last night which lasted a minute but with the progesterone it's so hard to know if little emby is still there or not 🥲 I've felt tired and very hungry but nothing too extreme!

Good luck today! Keep us posted on how you get on! Xxx

Imisscoffee2021 · 05/11/2022 09:10

@peanutpending cramps and niggles, twinges and stabbings all over, sometimes none for ages and I freak out that it's gone away then they return. I'm crampy today and worried as today is when I'd come on usually, but progesterone didn't stop me bleeding o my fresh transfer at 7dp5dt so I'm hoping the embryo is keeping my period away rather than the neds this time. I've been surprised at my anxiety, I'm not an anxious person at all and handled IVF well, but I'm completely obsessing over daily pregnancy tests and its so not healthy! I tested early in case I had/have a chemical so could give a clear picture to my clinic, as I have another 4 frosties after first 2 transfers. Got darkest line yet this morning at 9dp5dt so really going this is a sticky little fella 🤞when is your OTD? X

@Imisscoffee2021 omg that's so dark!!!! Sending lots of baby dust your way! As I'm writing this I'm having quite a bad period cramp.....and it's gone hahaha. So weird! I'm on day 34 of my cycle now and I used come in around day 30/31. I'm just worried it is my period 😢

I haven't tested at all yet as I'm so scared to get a negative test. So used to seeing them. It's just such an anxious and nerve wracking time so I'm not surprised you're feeling the way you do! All very valid feelings though! Xx

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 11:22

Sorry OTD is Monday 🥲🥲🥲🥲

Pippamorgan · 05/11/2022 12:27

@Imisscoffee2021 @peanutpending congratulations I also had my transfer on the 27th im 9dp3dt. I'm too scared to test yet aswell my test day is on the 10th, more mild cramps I'm getting compared to my normal period cramps but yes I'm hoping it's more the meds. I'm also on blood thinning injections as well as the progestrone and estrogen tablets. Also icsi transfer. Just hoping and praying for sticky vibes xx

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 13:55

Hi @Pippamorgan I had ICSI too! The wait is horrible! We bought some tests today but I'm just terrified to use them. So used to the negative results and can't bare it!

Yeah my cramps are the same really. They feel so weird as they come and go. So used to being in pain consistently 😂

OP posts:
Pippamorgan · 05/11/2022 14:16

@peanutpending the waiting seems like the longest part. I'm too nervous to buy any yet I would be so tempted just to see. My cramps are never ending don't seem to come and go just niggling there all the time.

I have my fingers crossed for you and sending lots of baby dust your way. Xx

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 14:49

Thank you @Pippamorgan and to you! It would be such a relief but I'm trying to be realistic. This is our first try and we have 4 embryos frozen so there's always next time. I say that now but would be devastated!

Yeah mine are weird, sometimes it feels like a quite intense period cramp and then it just completely disappears! I hate second guessing everything 😂

OP posts:
Pippamorgan · 05/11/2022 16:34

Thank you @peanutpending
I feel exactly the same, this is my first try aswell but I only have this 1 embryo so if it doesn't work I would have to go through the whole process again 😭.
I'm guessing as it's our first time its understandable to second guess everything, please keep me updated on Monday 🤞 xx

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 17:25

@Pippamorgan it's so tough but I'm crossing everything for you. It's so hard to not compare yourself to other people but so many people have told me that it can work first time. I now understand what they mean about ICSI/IVF being more emotionally draining than physically painful! I'll keep you updated for sure! Xxx

Well.....we may have tested randomly this evening whilst doing the ironing....

I'm still being cautious and very wary as you just don't know but I'm in shock!!

Imisscoffee2021 · 05/11/2022 20:02

Fantastic news!!! @peanutpending I had a suspicion based on your symptoms as they were so similar to mine!

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 20:12

Thank you @Imisscoffee2021 - I'm in disbelief and it's still very early days! I just wasn't expecting it after so many negative tests. We were just doing the ironing and thought...shall we just do it now haha!

OP posts:
Imisscoffee2021 · 05/11/2022 21:37

@peanutpending I know exactly how you feel! I had a day of elation then a day when all symptoms disappeared and I kicked myself for day dreaming about due dates and Christmas family announcements (as almost 12 weeks at Xmas!) But I'm taking it one day at a time, just thinning, today- I'm pregnant :) congratulations to you and DP! I'm actually visiting family at other side of the country atm so my husband is blissfully unaware of my rollercoaster week, hoping it sticks so I can tell him when I see him Monday x

peanutpending · 05/11/2022 22:10

Aww how exciting for you though @Imisscoffee2021 that you get to tell him soon! Oh I know! So many things are running through my mind right now. I think I've made my symptoms worse as well now haha! Thanks so much for your support so far! It's all very exciting and terrifying 😂 xx

OP posts:
Pippamorgan · 06/11/2022 10:31

@peanutpending aww so happy for you, congratulations. Bet it seems so surreal xx

peanutpending · 06/11/2022 11:06

Thanks so much @Pippamorgan ❤️ yeah it really does! I tested again this morning and the line is the same as yesterday if not slightly darker. Lots of cramping today! How are you feeling? Xx

OP posts:
Imisscoffee2021 · 06/11/2022 19:16

How are you feeling today @peanutpending ? Have you tested again for some line progression? I've had zero symptoms today, after having nausea and cramps yesterday. Nausea tends to go when I eat luckily when I get it! I had the darkest line yet today, so going to do a CB weeks digital and hope its climbed up , along with the official clinic test! As I type this I'm having a few light twinges actually, relieves me a bit to feel something going on, find it very unnerving when there's nothing at all!
