Hi,

Is anyone else having a FET this month? I think I will have my egg transfer next week. It's my first one.

@Hopefull1981 congrats! Still 5 days to my scan….

Hopefull1981 · 17/11/2022 08:20

@Crazyladywithacat the wait is horrible. Wishing you the best of luck.

My clinic said my due date was the 17th of July, but every IVF calculator says the 12th. They told me to go ahead and book in for my antenatal care. All going well, I am going to go private over here. It costs €4.5k, but the consultant is great so would rather keep him than see someone different each visit.

morganablue · 18/11/2022 15:00

Hi guys. Update from me, I went to Early Pregnancy Unit today for a scan and we are utterly shock as not only they found baby's sac, yolk and fetal pole (heartbeat was good, they don't measure how much), but they found that both embryos attached. Shocking 🙈

Both were measuring well at 6w5d and 6w3d, they have their own sac so don't share one.

They will scan us again in two weeks. 🤞🏼
This also does explain why my nausea is so brutal already.

Of course it's early days, and we are not out fo the woods yet, but we are equally excited and also in WTF shock

Hopefull1981 · 18/11/2022 15:25

@morganablue I was just coming on to ask how you got on. Wow twins. Congrats to you. What an amazing shock. I am delighted it went well for you.

Emsie1987 · 18/11/2022 18:11

@Aim2912 im so sorry to hear your news. I hope you are doing okay and have some people around to support you.

@morganablue oh my god twins. Congratulations.

I had my scan today. Pregnancy is in the right place. Heart beat was found and they said everything looked fine and told me to do a referral to the midwife. I’m 6w 3 days today but measuring 6w 1 day, 4.1mm do you think this is okay? One hurdle done and now feel nervous again as the baby may be too small.

my clinic scan is next Thursday.

Crazyladywithacat · 18/11/2022 18:11

@morganablue wow congrats!! Also understanding the shock. My mom has an identical twin my husband has a twin so I am worried about having twins so we only do 1 embryo at a time. But hey, double the trouble double the fun! Congrats

morganablue · 22/11/2022 09:39

@Crazyladywithacat @Hopefull1981 @Emsie1987 thank you ladies! Still in shock, but now I am experiencing a whole lot of new anxiety about vanishing twins syndrome, that is super common in early twins pregnancy. Scan next Friday, hoping they are both still cooking fine 🤞🏼

@Crazyladywithacat when is the scan? I remember it was this week, keeping all
Crossed for you 🤞🏼

How is everyone doing? I have horrible nausea and a rancid taste in my mouth, all day long

morganablue · 22/11/2022 09:43

@Emsie1987 congrats on your scan! Measuring can be quite confusing at this stage as beans are so tiny, so they told me it's very common to measure less or for measurements to be off. They also catch up quickly, so try (I know it's easier said than done :) not to worry , if there was concern they would have told you. How are you feeling?

morganablue · 22/11/2022 09:45

@Hopefull1981 definitely I would pay to keep my consultant, if you had such a great experience. My clinic doesn't allow it, unfortunately.
I have referred myself for antenatal case too, scary and exciting! :)

Crazyladywithacat · 22/11/2022 16:08

@morganablue thanks! It was this morning. It’s measuring 7w3d and heartbeat 149. Looks all healthy and my due date apparently is July 9th, not sure how they did that math. I’m also nauseous all the time. Same as my first pregnancy. I’m either nauseous when I have an empty stomach or feel bloated and indigestion after I eat. I hope it can get better soon. 🤢😵‍💫
Transfer to my usual OB next week. What’s your next milestone?

morganablue · 22/11/2022 16:21

@Crazyladywithacat aww congrats! Look at that little bean getting cozy! Very happy for u!

My due date is also the 9/07, although if twins pregnancy continues it will probably be much sooner. I have checked on ivf calculator on line for our transfer on 21/10 and 5 days embryos, and they also say 9/07 :) same as you, nausea and an horrendous taste of metal in my mouth.

I am trying to get myself booked with antenatal tema at local hospital, but they must been so busy and haven't contacted me yet. I should see the specialisti twin midwife before week 10, so before 10/12.

Meanwhile my early pregnancy unit is scanning me again next week Friday for reassurance, which I much appreciate. Odd how I dread scans but also would totally sign up for a weekly scan if I could!

Crazyladywithacat · 22/11/2022 16:32

@morganablue alright July 9th it is then. I was so hoping the nausea this time won’t be as bad as last time. I was nauseous for the entire time. I’m off progesterone on the 26th. Not sure if that would help.

its great that they do another scan. When would you be not having the risk of vanish twin syndrome?

morganablue · 22/11/2022 17:16

@Crazyladywithacat I cannot bear to think to do all pregnancy with this nausea. I am so grateful to be pregnant after years of IVF and TCC, but this nausea is a joy killer. At work I am literally munching the whole day or I cannot cope.

So, I heard loads of different things, mainly stats that have vanishing twin sindrome affecting 36% of twins pregnancy before week 12, so up to 1/3. Once spotted heartbeat is a bit better, but no guarantee that both twins will thrive until I am pass week 12. (Which for both would be 25/12 from calculations !)
It gave me a whole new anxiety as now I am double worried at scans basically 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hopefull1981 · 24/11/2022 10:31

Hey ladies,

How are you all? I had another scan yesterday. Measuring bang on 7 weeks based on the size of the gestational sac. Heartbeat still going. The nurse however said this is the danger week for miscarriage, not specifically for me but overall. Now I can't stop thinking about it. I suppose there really is nothing we can do about it. I have another scan next Wednesday and all going well, I transfer to my own consultant.

Are any of you doing the Harmony test. I have it booked for the 19th of December.

morganablue · 24/11/2022 19:10

@Hopefull1981 good news on scan ❤️ but way to kill the joy with that sentence from the nurse. I mean, why do they even mention it 🤷🏻‍♀️
Sorry u had that, honestly I feel us IVF crew are already 100times more aware of all the crap that can possibly happen whilst trying to bring these embabies earth side. Of course you want to know if there are concerns and cause of worries, but if it is all okay, why to mention the M word 🤦🏻‍♀️

I never heard of the Harmony test, just googled as you mentioned. I know in Uk I'll get a combined serum screening test( blood test and an ultrasound scan), which is 86% detection rate for Down’s Syndrome and 80% detection for Edwards’ and Patau’s Syndrome. Did not know the NIPT was
> 99% sensitive for Down’s and Patau’s Syndromes and 91.7% sensitive for Edwards’ Syndrome.

Are u having it in UK?

Hopefull1981 · 24/11/2022 19:50

@morganablue no I am based in Ireland. It’s €430 ish but it’s worth it for peace of mind. We can also chose to find out the sex. We’ll keep it as a surprise. Once you are over 35 here they shove the leaflet in front of your face.

how are you doing?

morganablue · 24/11/2022 21:26

@Hopefull1981
Here is also similarly priced, I honestly I read about it all night and I think I want to book it too!

I am feeling quite nauseous and today I also realised that my very high rise denim are not good for me no more. I was dying sitting at the desk all day 😅

How are u all doing?

Crazyladywithacat · 27/11/2022 13:17

Hmmm my message didn’t get posted? I did my NIPT for my first because he was a fresh embryo transfer so I think the screening is definitely worth and plus I wanted to find out about the gender.

this time we did PGT-A test because we had 7 frozen embryos. It screened out the abnormal ones and we were left with 3, (2xx 1xy) we wanted a girl so I don’t know if I need a NIPT. I’ll just wait for the doctor’s recommendation.

someone from work recommended seaband for nausea. I think it’s working for me if you guys have bad morning sickness and want to give it a try.

Crazyladywithacat · 27/11/2022 13:26

@Hopefull1981 it was awful for them to say that. Why do they do that! Hope your 7 week pass quickly.

@morganablue im retiring all my jeans 😅 maybe because it’s my 2nd? I haven’t been eating well because of my nausea, yet the waist is expanding quick a bit. Took me a year to get back my pre-pregnancy weight however not my pre-pregnancy clothes. Trying to take advantage of the Black Friday sales to get some maternity clothes.

How are you doing?

morganablue · 27/11/2022 13:48

@Crazyladywithacat I so much empathise with you 😅 I wore my normal jeans this week and nearly exploded. I had to go H&M after oro and get myself a discounted maternity wear, which is ridiculous at week 8, but between the meds I am still on, the bloating and being twins, nothing fit!

My nausea is brutal still, I have also tried travel band and they help a tiny bit, but the only things that helps for me it keep on eating all day 🤦🏻‍♀️ Trying to make healthy choices, but it is a struggle :)

Got my first midwife appointment on the 7/12 (no ultrasound), but meanwhile EPU will scan me again next Friday. Hoping both beans are still there 🤞🏼

Crazyladywithacat · 27/11/2022 14:12

@morganablue with twins I suspect you’d be out of your normal clothes very quickly. I think with my first I was out probably around 12 weeks even tho I don’t really show until much later. Clothes don’t lie.

my doctor says just eat whatever I can (because of the nausea) don’t worry about nutrition right now. I’m seeing my regular OB tomorrow, but with nurse practitioner no scan. Routine questionnaire, well check and blood test I think. 8 weeks today for both of us?!

Crazyladywithacat · 29/11/2022 00:50

My OB suggested to still take NIPT test. You can take it after 10 weeks, I will take it at my 12 weeks appointment since I already know the gender so there is no rush.

morganablue · 29/11/2022 19:00

@Crazyladywithacat clothes don't lie for real LOL I feel already round like a muffin!
Yup, I think with the transfer on the same day, we are exactly same date (8 week + 2 days today).

How is everyone doing?

We had a scare on Sunday as bit of blood came out of me and I was petrified. It gave me massive MC PTS memories. It was pinkish and then brown, really scary. Was feeling also a bit off so went straight to hospital. My blood pressure was very high (160/110), I feel also for steroids I am on. They scanned me at the end, which was lucky as they usually won't and both babies were doing fine, growing in their sac with their heartbeats.

Was funny cause as the beginning of the scan, Dr told me I was evidently constipated as she could not see clearly one the ovary LOL. She literally went "can you see this giant shadow?". that was embarrassing 💩😂
My OH had a giggle, I think it lighted up the mood as bit whilst waiting to hear about the tiny beans!

I have a scan on Friday at the EPU, which booked me in two weeks ago. After that I think I'll book a private one before the official midwife one as I cannot imagine to be able to wait 3+ on between scans! I honestly freak out constantly.

Crazyladywithacat · 29/11/2022 20:34

yea 4 weeks wait is a lot now I think about it. Maybe I will book a private one before hand. I’m more worried about how I’m gonna hide it for the next 4 weeks in the office because I have to start wearing maternity clothes like tomorrow and I’m nauseous all the time.
