Egg Collection in October 2022

Hi all,

I was waiting for Buserelin to return, now that it has I have the green light to start treatment. I am due to have a scan on Friday to get the all clear to start Norethisterone.

My collection will be early October.

Round 2.0 for me… be good to chat through with others as a part of the journey!

@IVFGotThis05 it is a little way off, but I bet it comes round fast! When are you due to start the meds?

I’m hopefully having collection date confirmed tomorrow at the D10 scan. My scan yesterday was good and showed progress of all of my follicles. I had a couple at 12/14mm, but a large percentage of them are at 10/11mm. I am very, very likely to have a freeze all which saddens me as I’d hoped for a Christmas surprise for the family, but I am also very appreciate of safety first!

I have been given a date for EC! Next Wednesday…. I cannot wait to get these follicles out! 🎉

How's everyone doing?
I'm all done with injections, had my trigger tonight! EC on Monday.

@badassmum22 that’s amazing! Congrats on the trigger. How are you feeling about egg collection?

Started my stimulation medication today with clomid. And from Monday with be starting the injections as well . First scan on wed .

I think my egg collection date is this Friday!! I'm so excited xx

@APSR amazing! Hopefully the meds work wonders this cycle for you! Fingers crossed for lots of lovely follicles growing away. Will keep an eye out for your scan update on Wednesday 🥰

@Lizzie989 fab news! How are you feeling? Do you have many follicles growing away in there?

I pulled the trigger at 2200, so now I am counting down every minute of the 36 hours until collection now. Roll on 0900 Wednesday morning 🎉🙌🏼

@LetstalkaboutBruno I'm feeling better than I did but I'm absolutely shattered. I think I may have had a bit of a flu type bug whic has made me feel crap. So yesterdays scan, she could see 15 follicles but some need to grow a little more so I'm back in for a scan Wednesday then hopefully trigger on Wednesday night🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Lizzie989 hope you feel better soon! Yay, 15 is good! Is that combined numbers, or estimation of collection? I will keep everything crossed for Wednesdays scan and lots of good follicle growth 🤞🏼

Yes that is combined numbers. Just been for another scan today and I have 16 in total. Some may not be mature in collection which is Friday xx

So had my retrieval this am. They got 17 follicles in total, 16 had mature eggs in. I will get a call with the total number fertilised tomorrow.

Retrieval wasn’t the best - I was awake the entire time throughout as the sedation didn’t work, it was very uncomfortable I was so glad when it was over. I am gutted as there were follicles left behind, my left ovary was sitting too high, despite best efforts to try and reach it.. they just couldn’t. So I would have had a larger number of follicles should the left ovary had been behaving. There is nothing I can do now though, I just have to wait. Monday will be D5, so I’ll get a call tomorrow, D3, D5 and D6 if there are any stragglers that need the extra day to catch up.

Please keep everything crossed. My quality isn’t great, so I suspect there will be a fair few lost along the way. I am hoping that this round will be different though. I hope this is the round that gives me plenty to freeze with many opportunities for round two.

@LetstalkaboutBruno that is still such a good number! Congratulations! 💜💜 The same this happened to me last time, I was wide awake and felt everything. But I was quite 'high' so I wasn't that bothered. I just talked rubbish to the doctors and nurses 😂 I really hope you are ok xx I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow xx

Best wishes to you both . I had my first scan yesterday after starting the injections. Got 11 follicles (8 in right and only 3 in left 😢). My dosage has been changed as well will be continuing high dosage for few more days . Next scan on Monday.

@APSR they only thought I had 13 folicles but by the end they could see 16, so don't worry to much (easier said than done I know) xxx I hope this second round works better for us 💜💜

how did your EC go ?
I started 3 injections from today 😢 2 for stimulation and 1 to prevent premature ovulation

@APSR egg collection went well, they collected 11 eggs ( little bit disappointed but it's ok) 9 were mature and they have injected each with a sperm. So hopefully will have good news tomorrow that they have fertilised xx
