Hi all,

I was waiting for Buserelin to return, now that it has I have the green light to start treatment. I am due to have a scan on Friday to get the all clear to start Norethisterone.

My collection will be early October.

Round 2.0 for me… be good to chat through with others as a part of the journey!

@badassmum22 Oh that's good! I couldn't image not being able to continue treatment now because my TSH has gone awry again. I am still taking 50mcg per morning, hoping that it hasn't had the chance to go up yet as I haven't had any real interventions yet.
Leave and relaxation sounds great for this round! I am keeping everything crossed for you. Will you take your leave pre collection or for the TWW?

Good work on roping in your husband! My first round I was so unwell during stims that my boyfriend had to do my injections for me for the last few. He even triggered for me!! Not long to go now for you!

@Lizzie989 I am so sorry. That can't have been easy for you! Are they making any changes to your protocol for this attempt? I hope they are able to enlighten you with some knowledge and advice for your upcoming round.

I did do acupuncture. Both on the lead up to the treatment and pre/post egg transfer for two of the four transfers that I did. I am not sure about the pre collection treatment, but the evidence for pre/post transfer is good. It worked for me transfer one, and then didn't for another. I also then did have two very early losses with no acupuncture. I was only thinking the other day about getting it again for the before and after transfer for this round. I don't think it hurts, but it isn't a necessity. It certainly does help to create a calming atmosphere for the duration of the treatment though - or at least did for me.

@APSR I am sorry that your blast didn'd implant. Fingers crossed for the next one that you transfer. I have to constantly tell myself that it only takes one, it's just getting that one... It's really tough!

It’s really tough 😢in my first cycle for fet, I was on progynova, lubion twice a day and Cyclogest 2 per day. Even had endometrial scratch done. Was on long protocol due to endometriosis. What else should I consider doing this time ?

APSR · 17/09/2022 18:47

forgot to mention clexane too

Lizzie989 · 17/09/2022 19:01

@LetstalkaboutBruno yes I am doing long protocol and changing of medication. I'm actually excited to start acupuncture, I'm really suffering with anxiety and also waking in the night and can't get back to sleep. Fingers crossed it helps xx

LetstalkaboutBruno · 17/09/2022 19:51

@APSR It may well be a quality problem, as opposed to a receptivity issue. Sometimes an embryo can look perfect, but then it still has chromosomal defects, which unfortunately mean that it doesn't thrive. I am so sorry, but I have no advice as I don't have endometriosis, I don't know enough about what protocols or treatments should/could be suggested. Have you spoken with your team as to what their take was?

I had a 5BB, 4BB, 2BB and an early ungraded blast transferred (in that order) last round, all but the 2BB implanted but did not get past 7 weeks. I was told that they put it down as an egg quality issue, compared with anything else. So they have ideas and thoughts, so give them a ring/email and ask what thy suggest.

I know it's hard. It is really, really tough!

@Lizzie989 keeping everything crossed for you, I hope the acupuncture helps you. Do you do anything else to help with your anxiety?

OP posts:
Lizzie989 · 17/09/2022 19:55

@LetstalkaboutBruno i swear by exercise and walk/run 4-5 times a week, but at the moment it's at bedtime when it's at its worst, so I listen to sleep meditation and hope for the best. Xx

APSR · 17/09/2022 20:09

My consultant told it can be either the quality ( since genetic testing was not done as I got only one blastocyst so he dint recommend doing it ) or endometriosis factor which can impact implantation.. he is planning to put me on antagonist protocol with dual trigger now .. depending on how my body responds .. I was on long protocol for my first cycle.. also he is planning to do endometrial tests .. any opinion on that ?

LetstalkaboutBruno · 17/09/2022 20:18

@Lizzie989 sounds good! Have you done Yoga before? I haven't - but I know that it can be incredibly relaxing! You could then take the poses and do them at home if it's helpful?

OP posts:
LetstalkaboutBruno · 17/09/2022 20:22

@apsr Yes - all makes sense. I personally wouldn't get PGT-A testing done unless I needed to because of being known/suspected carriers of something we wanted to avoid. I am on an American forum and so many women test over there as standard, and they're still not successful. Endometrial testing sounds fair; will you have the EndomeTRIO tests? I hope they get some answers!!

Lizzie989 · 17/09/2022 20:39

@LetstalkaboutBruno I will 100% try that xx

LetstalkaboutBruno · 17/09/2022 20:45

@Lizzie989 all you can do is but try 🥰 xx

@LetstalkaboutBruno YEY! Positive Vibes only!!! I'm still waiting.. I think it could be the prostap xx

LetstalkaboutBruno · 18/09/2022 12:35

@Lizzie989 yes, indeed! I’ve not had prostap before, how long does it normally take to bleed after having it?

OP posts:
Lizzie989 · 18/09/2022 21:23

@LetstalkaboutBruno this is my first time on prostap, but just started my bleed tonight so happy things are happening xx

LetstalkaboutBruno · 18/09/2022 21:41

Hello ladies, how are you all doing?
I had my baseline scan this afternoon and got ok to start stims tomorrow night. Estimated date for EC 2nd October.

IVFGotThis05 · 20/09/2022 16:49

@badassmum22 Ahh that go ahead is such a relief ! Happy stimming !

I started my down regulation yesterday ! Although I had done injections before I was so nervous to pop that needle in ! 😅

LetstalkaboutBruno · 20/09/2022 18:35

@badassmum22 amazing, I had my baseline scan today too! I haven’t been given the official date for collection, they expect it’ll be that same week though. I have a huge AFC though!

@IVFGotThis05 great news that you’re already down regging. How long are you needing to down reg before collection?
