FET in September/October

I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

Big week coming up for transfers and treatment! Sending lots of love and hugs to you all and hope you’re being extra kind to yourselves. I’m feeling a little nervous and my sleep is crap but trying my best to walk and yoga it all off before FET 💛

@MyEasterEggs it is. Is that 4 transfers next week? I’ve lost count.

i have been doing great all week but spiralling now. Around 36hours until I know either way whether this has worked. So far there’s no spotting and my period is technically a day late (plus usually I’d spot for 3 or 4 days first). But maybe the ovitrelle injection I got at transfer would delay things anyway. I don’t know which way it is going to go. Had cramps and pains for days but again could mean anything. Just wish I knew!!

It is so nice to have others going through it at the same time!
The countdown is on to Friday so me 🤞🏼 good luck all, hope the week is stressful in preparation x

SarahC1985 · 25/09/2022 19:06

Good luck for this week everyone!!!!

MyEasterEggs · 25/09/2022 21:13

@LT103 yes I think there’s a transfer every day but Wednesday, though @OrangeBengal has her ERA that day. I forgot to mention we have you testing too and I’m keeping everything crossed for a positive outcome. Anyone else waiting to test?

Hope you’re doing okay @SarahC1985 and hang in there @dlkiik. Thursday and Friday seem like forever away. I’ve got intralipids and bloods tomorrow so good to be checking something off the list on the road to transfer ☺️

SarahC1985 · 25/09/2022 22:01

@LT103 when will you test or will you just wait for bloods?

@MyEasterEggs I'm doing ok. My clinic scan is on Tuesday so I suppose I'll have a better idea of what's going on then. If there is something there it should have a heartbeat o hope x

OrangeBengal · 25/09/2022 22:14

Gosh what a busy week! @LT103 your willpower has been amazing! Good luck to all those having transfers. x

LT103 · 26/09/2022 07:06

@SarahC1985 i have bloods tomorrow morning but they will call me in afternoon when I’m at work so I’m going to test tomorrow morning when i get up so I know. I don’t know how I’ve held on for so long. Still scarred from my last transfer I think where I spent days and days comparing lines

SarahC1985 · 26/09/2022 14:27

@LT103 the testing part is the worst. Well done you. Fingers crossed everything goes well x

MyEasterEggs · 26/09/2022 17:13

Hope you’re all well today. I’ve got a quick question. My progesterone is 34, and the clinic wants it at 100 by Thursday, so I’ve to take cyclogest twice a day first dose starting tonight. My next blood test will be Wednesday at 10 then they’ll decide if we can go ahead. Are my levels likely to rise much by then?

OP posts:
OrangeBengal · 26/09/2022 17:45

Hey @MyEasterEggs how much progesterone are you on now? I was on x2 Lubion on a medicated cycle and my number was 79.5, so I was given x2 cyclogest (800mg) extra a day, three days prior to transfer, by the 4dpt the level was 374, so although I wasn’t tested on transfer day, it’s rational to assume I got to over 100 by transfer day. If you’re concerned maybe maximise the amount you take?

MyEasterEggs · 26/09/2022 17:55

@OrangeBengal I’m on 2 x lubion at the moment, been on it since Friday night so only 3 days, and cyclogest is being couriered over to me now. I usually ovulate later in my cycle so wonder if that makes a difference? Will they cancel the cycle or just delay slightly if it doesn’t rise? Ugh 😩

OP posts:
OrangeBengal · 26/09/2022 18:13

Have you ovulated or are you on a medicated cycle @MyEasterEggs? If the latter then when you ovulate shouldn’t matter. If it’s not over 100 by Wednesday they might give you a choice, I don’t think they delay as practice. If it was me I would add in the 800mg of cyclogest (morning and bedtime) and see if it’s close to 100 on Wednesday, then based on how close it was decide to go ahead again, e.g. if circa 85 and my procedure was in the late afternoon the next day I’d go ahead, if lower then this and the procedure was in the morning, I wouldn’t

MyEasterEggs · 26/09/2022 18:22

No I haven’t ovulated. That’s usually after day 19 of my cycle. I was just wondering if me being a late ovulator would affect levels. If by medicated cycle you mean stimulation then no. I’m on clexane, prednisolone, metformin plus hormones. Not sure of the cyclogest amount. Courier on his way so will find out soon! Thank you @OrangeBengal 🙏🏻

OrangeBengal · 26/09/2022 18:36

Anytime @MyEasterEggs. By medicated I meant oestrogen and progesterone, the former to stop ovulation. If nothing is stopping ovulation then you should only transfer either you’ve been triggered or ovulated naturally. Oh if you need to double-up on pessaries wait 15mins between insertions!

MyEasterEggs · 26/09/2022 18:42

@OrangeBengal in that case yes I’m on oestrogen and progesterone and my ovaries were pretty quiet at Thursdays scan so hopefully all good on that front. No repeat scan today as they said it wouldn’t offer more info!

Just the progesterone to concentrate on then, that’s good @MyEasterEggs

Emsie1987 · 26/09/2022 20:27

Hi ladies

I am starting my second fet cycle today this time it will be medicated. My fresh cycle ended up in a miscarriage, first frozen (natural) gave me my little boy and this will be my second fet transfer. All embryos have been from the same cycle.

I went for my initial scan today and received the medication. I have been asked to take provera for 7 days (cycle day 19) and then call on first day of period.

I didn't realise at the time of the appointment this was to bring on my period. I have periods every 27/28 days very rarely 26/29. From doing some research this evening it seems that people taking this drug have problems relating to long cycles. Im unsure why I need to take this. Would it be to help timings for the transfer?

rollercoastertobaby · 26/09/2022 21:47

Girls, can I ask your advice please as I’m starting to panic. I’ve got no info from my clinic on when to empty my bladder/how much to drink (in ml) etc before embryo transfer tomorrow.

Please can you help with any advice?
My last clinic told me exactly what to do but I can’t find the sheets…

SarahC1985 · 26/09/2022 21:49

@rollercoastertobaby I needed a full bladder for transfer x

SarahC1985 · 26/09/2022 21:50

@Emsie1987 I had to do the same. I think it's just so they have more control over your cycle length and dates?

Mine had to be 'comfortably' full on my previous transfer

dlkiik · 26/09/2022 22:00

Mine had to be 'comfortably' full on my previous transfer Biscuit

MyEasterEggs · 26/09/2022 22:07

I was told to drink a litre of water an hour before transfer. A pint or two I might manage but a litre?! So I’m going to empty mine around midday then drink a couple of pints over the course the hour before transfer at 1pm. Will be interesting as I need the loo all the time…

Cyclogest arrived and I’ve popped the first 400mg in. The clinic confirmed that my cycle won’t be cancelled I’ll just add more if it’s not quite 100 on Wednesday. A clearer email would’ve saved a lot of panic there…
