I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

Great news @Kelvie103 and good luck with your upcoming tests and scans @OrangeBengal and @chloedancer88.

We’re back for another scan tomorrow and may bring our next one forward but I’ll see how my anxiety is. I’ve been coping pretty well since midwife put plan in place. Also think I'm feeling butterflies now but I know it could just be gas 😆

Hope everyone else is doing okay? I know some of you are over on the birth boards now but I still can’t bring myself to join. I don’t know if I ever will, which is a shame as I found it supportive first time around. I was on BabyCentre back then and am still friends with a few of the women!

Hi all, sorry for the radio silence! I've been feeling terrible with constant nausea and vomiting so I've had no energy to post but I've been catching up with the thread everytime I see an update! I'm so pleased to see lots of positive scans and test results 😊

I'm 12+1 today and have my dating scan booked for Wednesday - the day before my wedding! 🙈 I'm praying everything is okay, though I heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday at work which was lovely.

SL42smbc · 17/12/2022 23:06

Hi All,

@Bookbug92 have you asked you doctor for some anti nausea medication? I've been using it to keep the nausea under control, without it I'd be unable to cope. It's made such a difference.

Here's my 13 week scan pic, I'm now 13+5.

@Bookbug92 congratulations on your upcoming wedding, I hope you have a lovely day! And I hope your nausea starts to ease off a bit soon too. Good luck with the scan too. I always get nervous before scans too even when I have no specific reason to be.

@SL42smbc Congratulations on your scan being OK, that's a lovely picture. Baby looks like it's lieing in a heart, it's so cute!

@MyEasterEggs I was planning on joining the June boards too after my scan but now feel like it's been too long and would feel a bit awkward suddenly popping up. Besides I like our little group we have here!

chloedancer88 · 18/12/2022 12:37

@MyEasterEggs I haven't joined any other boards. I'm sticking to this one! ❤️

Still waiting for my quad test results. I can't relax until they're back. I have my anomaly scan on Thursday too. It's a big milestone week for me

OrangeBengal · 18/12/2022 12:40

@Bookbug92 wedding and baby, how exciting! I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful. I’m 11+3 weeks and still throwing up every morning. Not looking forward being at my mum’s at Christmas and continuing there, you’re own toilet is one thing!

Scan photo is lovely @SL42smbc

@Kelvie103 and @MyEasterEggs I don’t think I’m going to join the pregnancy boards, I had my eye on one did a bit, but it unexpectedly got closed down, so not sure what happened there?!

I had my blood taken for the SAFE test yesterday and it was the worse experience ever, and I’ve had a few as far as bloods are concerned. A little worrying as it was taken by my midwife. Will plan to go to my hospital or to TDL (who were brilliant) for any further bloods I think. Done now though, but unfortunately it seems like the results won’t be back for Christmas. 12 week scan on Friday.

LT103 · 20/12/2022 13:21

How is everyone?

we were supposed to have 16wk consultant appt yest over phone. Consult scheduled for 2.50pm so I booked time off work from half 2, day in car waiting and no call. Then saw missed call from 0800 number from just before 2pm (when I was still working). So yeah apparently they called an hour before my appt time and because I didn’t answer they cancelled my appt. So annoyed.

thankfully my lovely midwife has called them and booked another appt but not til 16 jan but she has found out my care plan and let me know.

so I have to take aspirin (already doing as consultant at fertility clinic told me this), to get glucose tolerance test at 28wks and 4 weekly growth scans from 28wks and if no baby by 40wks they recommend induction. So all fairly standard.

Still so annoyed they didn’t try to call again at consult time

LT103 · 20/12/2022 13:22

On good note. 2 days til gender scan 😬😬😬

LT103 · 20/12/2022 13:22

Oh and screening came back 1 in 6000 for downs and 1 in 100,000 for edwards/patau so I can relax a bit

OrangeBengal · 23/12/2022 16:58

Nice numbers @LT103.

Just had the nuchal scan and everything looks great, the sonographer did a thorough job, was happy and didn’t think there were any abnormalities. Baby was jump kicking me a lot and generally squirming around which was good to see! I get the NIPT blood results tomorrow, but know the SAFE test trumps these, so will pay more attention to the latter results when they come through.

Here’s an action pic

Kelvie103 · 23/12/2022 17:15

@LT103 That's so frustrating about them messing your appointments around like that. 16th Jan is a long wait for them to rebook it. Glad your screening results came back in time for you to relax for christmas though. How was your gender scan? My husband just said to me he's now leaning towards finding out so hopefully I can book a scan for a few weeks time!

@OrangeBengal lovely scan picture, glad your little one is doing well and fingers crossed you get the nipt results tomorrow. I still can't get over how amazing it is to actually see them moving around.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas!

LT103 · 23/12/2022 17:39

So we had our scan last night and like I guessed we are having a boy 💙💙.
he was not for showing us his face but got there eventually and she even put the 3d scan on which was both creepy and amazing at the same time haha. And we heard the heartbeat for the first time. And I cried…..again 🙈🙈

Hi everyone, I’ve been a little quiet as the last week or so has been a bit stressful. All is well but I’m between 14-16 weeks which I knew would be a tricky time and I ended up with a UTI which made me really anxious. Had a reassurance scan yesterday and baby was looking so snug and not playing ball AGAIN 🙃 but healthy so we’re happy. This is the furthest we’ve been in almost 7 years.

@Bookbug92 hope you had a wonderful wedding day. Did your nausea subsided for a while? How did the scan go?

@SL42smbc glad your scan went well. Great little pic you got there.

@chloedancer88 how was the anomaly scan? And when do you get quad test results?

@OrangeBengal great news on the scan and hope NIPT and SAFE results come back soon.

@LT103 pleased all is well with you. I had a 3D scan with my daughter at about 28 weeks or so and we thought she looked like grilled cheese 😂 but it was a lovely way to see what’s going on and connect with baby. Could tell she was the image of her dad. I found it so fascinating.

Here’s a wee pic of our boy’s face at 15 weeks. Looks like he’s puckering up for a kiss under the mistletoe but I reckon it’s his hand as he was sucking his thumb shortly before 🥰

So nice to see so much good news. Wishing you all a happy Christmas 🎄

@MyEasterEggs glad your scan was all good. What a cute pic!! It’s so hard not to get anxious about everything isn’t it?

@OrangeBengal glad your scan was good too. Hope you got your results back ok!!

hope everyone has a great Xmas!! Let the 0% prosecco flow!!

OrangeBengal · 24/12/2022 14:47

Thanks @LT103. Got the NIPT results this morning and they’re great, very low chance of all three - whoohooo! I think I will allow myself to chill out now.

Re non-alcoholic wonders, I can’t recommend Copenhagen Organic Sparkling Tea (Blue) enough, it’s completely it’s own thing and tastes both adult and special. I was trying to add a link, but can’t for some reason.

You’re doing great @MyEasterEggs. The profile of your boy is wonderful too.

Merry Christmas one and all!!

OrangeBengal · 29/12/2022 10:48

So, we got our safe test results and they couldn’t be more reassuring 1 in 100,000 chance of getting any of the big three! Also found out we’re having a boy! Is that all boys on here?? I know IVF produces more boys that girls, but I still wasn’t entirely expecting it and if I’m being super honest although my embryo (and now baby) name is unisex, I may still have chosen something different if I figured we’d have a boy! How did everyone’s Christmas go in any case?!

chloedancer88 · 29/12/2022 10:51

Happy Christmas everyone!!! How are you all?

@OrangeBengal a little boy! How amazing! And well done with your safe results. That's so reassuring.

@MyEasterEggs that pic is amazing, how are you feeling?

My anomaly scan was a bit stressful. I couldn't wake my husband up for it so ended up having to go alone. He's a notoriously heavy sleeper. It was awkward and I cried most of the time and I felt like it was a bit rushed because I had made the atmosphere so tense. They said everything looks fine but I got crap pics so hoping one of my friends will rescan me. I don't know what I'm having but have always had a feeling it's a boy.

Kelvie103 · 29/12/2022 19:45

@OrangeBengal Double congratulations on your test results and your little boy!

@chloedancer88 Sorry your scan was rushed, that must have been disappointing but hopefully you can have some reassurance that they said everything looks fine and I hope you can get some better pictures soon.

I'm hoping to book a gender scan for the 14th as I think I've finally convinced my husband he wants to find out! Super excited but also feeling nervous about the scan too as always. It's hard not being able to feel movements yet and so having no idea if baby is ok or not.

SL42smbc · 29/12/2022 20:48

Hey,

I'm having a boy too.

I got my test results as well and it's a low chance of Chrome abnormalities so that's a relief.

I also announced on social media, here's a photo, my dog helped me with the announcement!

FET in September/October
OrangeBengal · 29/12/2022 21:06

Oh lovely @SL42smbc, beautiful dog too! I told a handful of people at Christmas, my step dad even cried, which was really touching.

I hear you re scans @Kelvie103, my midwife said from 15 weeks she can hear it’s heartbeat via a device she has, so whenever I feel nervous I can just give her a call and we can listen. That’s great, but I still have 2 weeks more to go until then!

Sorry your scan wasn’t as clear as you expected @chloedancer88, I’m sure one of your friends will come to the rescue though.

MyEasterEggs · 30/12/2022 15:21

Hi everyone, nice to see you all doing well and having reassuring appointments.

And more boys! Our little lad behaved for our first listen in today and it was so lovely to hear his heartbeat. Got my final reassurance scan on Tuesday, then another midwife appointment in two weeks to bridge the gap between now and 20 week scan. I’ve also had my first consultant call and have a growth scan booked for 26 weeks, at which point we’ll chat about delivery. He was very supportive and I’m coming round to the idea of a natural delivery. But I have time to work through it all in my head.

Otherwise, I’m exhausted! I love Christmas but it’s such an emotional time of year. Off to nap now then get ready for a rare date night. Hopefully the heartburn subsides!

chloedancer88 · 02/01/2023 09:49

Hi all, how are you doing? I've been struggling a lot the last few weeks. I've been working non stop (I have a new manager who had given me the worse off duty imaginable) and I'm absolutely exhausted. I'm managing about 45 mins sleep at a time then I'm being woken up by either restless legs or indigestion. Ive been having horrible headaches too. Sorry to complain so much but I'm literally running on such little sleep now that I feel like I can't function. Not to mention I haven't had more than 2 days off over Christmas and new years so I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself 😭

I'm not sure if I'm feeling movements yet. I have an anterior placenta so it's really masking them. I feel occasional pops at times but not sure if that's baby or my indigestion! Lol

MyEasterEggs · 02/01/2023 15:53

Sorry you’re having a hard time @chloedancer88. Between your scan experience and work situation you’re already carrying a lot, and then there’s the physical side which can be so bloody exhausting. Could you book a stretch of days off or maybe adapt your off duty so there’s a few days where you can rest? I know it’s not easy when you have kids but trying to think of ways you can catch up on sleep, or even look forward to a break. Could family step in? I find it hard to ask for help but sometimes we need to 💛

Just thinking, have you had your iron levels tested again? I’ve just had iron repeated and they’re looking at ferritin too as I’ve started getting headaches over last week and also some dizzy spells. My BP was also raised but that was before midwife listened so suspect it was just my nerves. Probably just the stage I’m at as body is pumping a lot more bloody around but wanted to be on safe side.

Also invested in a pregnancy pillow. Felt a bit premature but I was getting uncomfortable and think it’s helped hips and legs in particular. I had SPD with my daughter and RLS was also a nightmare so figured I’d try I deal with it early. Got a bbhugme in the sale. Hoping it’ll be useful for feeding if I manage that too!

@chloedancer88 It's good to vent sometimes! Sorry you're going through such a tiring time. I can totally relate. I've been suffering from insomnia pretty much since my positive test and have been waking up about 4 or 5 times every night for no reason and always suffer from headaches when I'm tired. Luckily I was working from home over Christmas but back in the office tomorrow and with a 3+ hour round trip drive I'm dreading it.

I have an anterior placenta too so not expecting to feel movements until much later. A friend of mine who's just had a baby said his wife didn't feel anything until 24 weeks so that's kind of reassuring. I did feel a strange little flutter low down yesterday morning when I was lieing in bed though but no idea if that was baby or a muscle spasm. I would have thought at 15 weeks for me it would be way too early but I've never felt anything like it before and not felt anything since.

Just booked a gender scan for the 14th as husband has finally decided he wants to know now! It's given me something to look forward to anyway although will always be anxious about scans I think. Also hoping to book a little holiday in February or March but no idea where to go at that time of year. We didn't manage to go anywhere last year with all the ivf appointments so feel like we need somewhere just to relax before baby is here.
