FET in September/October

I’m preparing to start my treatment cycle in a month or so and thought it might be helpful to start up a thread for anyone heading for FET soon.

This will be my first FET so I’m nervous but also feeling hopeful having gone through a fair amount of testing and treatment. Think I’m about as prepared as I’ll ever be!

Current cycle finally got going two days ago after a bit of a delay and I’ve decided to use it to focus on eating well and getting into the right headspace.

Anyone at a similar stage and want some company?

I don’t know, my understanding is that it happens and all that can be advised is to go for a blood test and / scan, is that right?? I don’t know if ringing the EPU will feel like an escalation when I’m trying to keep the panic down @chloedancer88. If it is going wrong, I don’t know if anything can stop it?!

MyEasterEggs · 11/11/2022 18:45

@OrangeBengal if there’s the possibility that a scan might reassure you, or you’d rather know how things are going, then it’s worth calling the unit. They’ll usually see someone who is experiencing spotting. But you’ve got to do what’s right for you. We all deal with things differently and if waiting it out feels calmer then that’s for the best. Hope you can rest up tonight 💛

I can see why that might be reassuring for some people @hopefullsosbry but I’m not sure it’s all that reliable. My chances came back at 29% for this pregnancy. Which is probably about right to be honest. I think an IVF consultant reckoned my chances were 40% a few years ago. But the link doesn’t ask about previous live births or number of pregnancies so I guess it’s specifically for first time IVF with no previous conception. I’d personally give stats a wide berth because there are so many factors from the conditions you have to the treatment you’re on and the clinic you’re with 😬

Thank you @MyEasterEggs. it seems to be stopping.

hopefullsosbry · 11/11/2022 22:49

@MyEasterEggs yeh I did think it’s prob not exactly scientifically realisable but it just helped to give me a bit of hope .. guess I’ll know in two weeks times anyways .. ahh the wait ! Warmish wishes x

hopefullsosbry · 11/11/2022 22:50

@OrangeBengal hope you will be ok !!

LT103 · 12/11/2022 18:08

I had a tiny bit of pink spotting when I went to the bathroom this morning. Haven’t had any all through so far. So obviously have had a complete spiral. Spoke to a lovely midwife at EPU who put my mind at rest for now but I’ve to call back on Monday and will maybe get a scan of there’s been any more.
I wonder if I’ll ever get to the stage I can just relax and enjoy this. Spent most of this morning in tears. Not had any spotting since thankfully

OrangeBengal · 12/11/2022 23:44

Oh @LT103 I’m sorry you’ve been spotting too. I’m taking comfort in the fact that mine seems to be following the same pattern as before and last time I went in for my two beta between spotting and my levels were excellent. Mine is now brown and will pale to creamy colour, which seems to be my standard colour now. If I see any red or feel pain I’ll reach out to someone.

chloedancer88 · 12/11/2022 23:46

Sorry to go off subject but has anyone got a pregnancy pillow yet? there are so many, I don't know which one to get

LT103 · 13/11/2022 07:41

@chloedancer88 from people I’ve spoke to the u shaped ones are best. But there’s so many. I might get one soon as I’m sleeping with 4 pillows instead propped in various places/between legs etc to get comfy

MyEasterEggs · 13/11/2022 11:27

I loved my pregnancy pillow with my daughter. I got one that was brilliant for feeding too. Will have to do a bit of research into which I got. And remember to buy a couple of covers 😆

Wish I was far enough on to start buying stuff like this but will be patient and steal your ideas when I get to that stage. Has anyone joined their birth group yet? I’m June and keep having a nosey but will wait until second trimester. Would love to keep this thread going though 😊

LT103 · 13/11/2022 11:47

@MyEasterEggs yeah I’m on the june chat and fb group.

LT103 · 13/11/2022 11:49

We had some fresh blood today again after going to the bathroom so just booked a private scan and ent straight there.
Everything is fine. Baby measuring 2days ahead now at 11+1 and was jumping around so much. Could see sooooo much compared to previous scans.

OrangeBengal · 13/11/2022 12:04

Oh @LT103 that’s great! Did they give you a reason for the blood? Thankfully mine’s stopped now.

I’d be on the July board @MyEasterEggs, but not sure I’m going to go there. I second keeping this board open.

LT103 · 13/11/2022 13:19

@OrangeBengal no haematomas and cervix closed so it’s most likely from my cervix esp when it’s only after going to the bathroom (sorry for the tmi). I do have a cervical ectropion and a small cervical polyp so that’s probable cause.
I was in such a state this morning with it I’m so glad we decided to check. Plus baby has grown in just over a week from 26mm to 44mm!!

MyEasterEggs · 13/11/2022 14:09

@LT103 that growth is incredible and I’m so glad you got some reassurance.

Pleased things have calmed down for you too @OrangeBengal. When is the scan?

Will definitely keep this board going 🙂

Definitely keep it open. Will be nice to see how people go over next few months.

OrangeBengal · 13/11/2022 14:45

Marvellous result @LT103 and so reassuring!

Scan is on Friday @MyEasterEggs, so I’ll get them to check for haematomas and my cervix in general. I’d also like to know if my fibroids are causing any issues.

Kelvie103 · 13/11/2022 15:20

@LT103 Glad to hear you had another reassuring scan. It must be so hard not to worry no matter how many times you hear its normal. I know I'd panic.

@MyEasterEggs I've been lurking around the June thread too but don't want to join yet until I know everything will likely be OK. Glad you'll keep this thread going, it's nice having people to chat to who know what everyone's going through.

I had my booking appointment through but its not until 12+1 weeks which I'm a bit miffed about as I thought it would be earlier. Feeling a bit cut loose as I've been discharged from my clinic. I've convinced my husband to go for the harmony test at hopefully 10 weeks. I hope its just my anxiety talking but I can't help worrying something will be wrong. I think because with me being 37, and my husband having just turned 53 I feel like we're at high risk. Add to that my really high hcg at 5 weeks and now the heart rate seeming above normal too I just can't help but have a bad feeling.

MyEasterEggs · 13/11/2022 19:26

@Kelvie103 you’ll have a scan with the Harmony so I’m sure that’ll offer added reassurance. When will that be? I order my NIPT kit on Friday afternoon if all is well at my 10 week scan. My booking appointment is 11 weeks. Looking forward to being under the regular care of a midwife and consultant!

My clinic have been awful lately. They’ve left me hanging with regards to some aspects my treatment plan and I feel like I’m in limbo too. I went to them to stay pregnant and I feel so let down because they’re adding to my anxiety when patient care is the reason I chose them above others. I keep telling myself that clinically they’ve been great, and I’m in a good place, but I feel a bit sad.

Anyway, I’ll stop hijacking! I just wanted to offer some solidarity because it’s frustrating to be in this waiting period.

Try not to worry about the test. In most cases it’s absolutely fine 💛

chloedancer88 · 13/11/2022 19:28

I haven't joined any pregnancy groups. I feel very safe here and I feel like I still can't allow myself to enjoy normal pregnancy things yet.

OrangeBengal · 13/11/2022 20:12

Oh @MyEasterEggs, that doesn’t sound ideal, is this related to how long you want to be on progesterone support?

Kelvie103 · 13/11/2022 20:43

@MyEasterEggs I'm 8 weeks today so still have another 2 weeks to wait. I found a different fertility clinic only about 30 mins drive from us that says on their website they do the harmony test so have sent them an inquiry. Its good to know it will come with a scan as I was planning on having one around that time anyway for reassurance. My clinic did say if I have anything I'm worried about I can still email them but I feel its been a bit like right we got you pregnant job done, whereas our goal isn't to get pregnant, it's to have a healthy baby!

Bookbug92 · 13/11/2022 21:19

Hi all, sorry I've been a bit quiet on here lately, I've been feeling so nauseous all day long and I didn't expect it to take it out of me like it has done. I've been reading everyone's posts though! So pleased to see lots of positive scans 😊

We were signed off from our clinic on Friday at 7 weeks, I had a scan at 6 weeks in epu and the baby had doubled in size between the two scans 🥰 so that was lovely to see! I had my 30th yesterday and I'm absolutely knackered now!

Also please keep this thread going! I feel like we're a little gang now 😅💕

OrangeBengal · 14/11/2022 22:39

You’re exactly a week ahead of me @Bookbug92! So nice that you got to see that progress so early. I’ve been counting down the days to my 7wk scan on Friday forever, or so it seems! If all goes well we’ll get another scan at 9wks and then both the Panorama and nuchal scan at 11+5wks.
