@LKSF good to know what procedures you had, I was thinking of a scratch if this one doesn’t work but will talk to my dr.
i heard a lot of people are going abroad for IVF and they have good success rates. Places like Spain have amazing rates.
but I do wonder if the NHS brings rates down in the Uk as they have poorer results than private clinics, possibly because they are picky with who gets treated, and rate of success is said to improve after 3 rounds. And generally they only offer 3 rounds.
Is it stressful though flying back and forth?
I hate airports and flying doesn't agree with me so I’m not sure it would suit me!
I'm so happy for you!
We pre paid for another round if the next 4 embryos don’t work. So we will see what happens. Wouldn’t it be fab if we all got pregnant on this feed. 🤞🏻I think I’m where you were in your head space earlier in the week today, I’m think it’s not going to work. 😖

Dobcaty · 31/07/2022 11:51

I need a bit of advice girls...still waiting my period to come, had some spotting in the last few days but only in the mornings... no sign at all, but not pregnant as I tested yesterday,bfn. The only time when I want to come it doesn't come, I really want to call the clinic to get rolling to our first FET. Any tips/trick you heard of it to make it appear? Even if its a weird one I don't mind 😊

Hopefortansy85 · 31/07/2022 12:26

@Dobcaty hot bath? Long walk sometimes sets me off, vitamin C and ginger are meant to help. And the main one is try to relax it might be stopping it coming if you are too stressed about it coming.

LKSF · 31/07/2022 12:35

@Hopefortansy85 with my experience they treat you more as an individual abroad rather than just a ‘one size fits all’ they really get to know your history and try to get to the bottom of things. It really wasn’t stressful, we went for a weekend in December for tests and then we had to be there for 10days in July. The most stressful thing for me was having to book last minute obviously depending on when your period arrives. (But that’s only because im a planner!)
it’s such a horrible head space to be in 😩 but be kind to yourself and know the negative and positive emotions you’re feeling are normal ❤️

@Dobcaty sex always brings on my period a day early if I have it when I’m due on. Got this from
google ‘It's possible for sex to kick-start your period, but only if you have an orgasm during it and are nearing your start date’ x

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 13:24

@Hopefortansy85 in Wales we are only offered 2 rounds on NHS and 1 over 40 but everyone with fertility issues gets funding for 2 rounds it's not postcode based which is better I think.

But if you look at the NHS clinics V the private ones the private ones stats are higher. I'm NHS atm on my second round.

When is your OTD?

@Dobcaty pineapple softens your cervix so if it's started but it's holding up there it will flow. Also they say climaxing starts it too.

Thanks for all of you. Just texted to DH that after I finish work, we go down to the pub to have a few drinks, I will take a long hot bath and get on the business 😅. His answer was he starts at 5 in the morning...sir you need to get your pants on!

Probably you’re right I’m stressing a lot this week bc of work, the moving, the FET, and I really want to plan a holiday somewhere in the next two months or just fly home to see my father (it’s been 2 yrs now)…and its all depends when af shows up. So I’m planning a pamper day tomorrow, finally a day off, and just go with the flow…😇

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 15:06

@Dobcaty good plan! X

Hopefortansy85 · 31/07/2022 18:00

@Dobcaty you tell him my husband starts at 4am 😂 and he has a duty 😂.
If you go to the Pup make sure you wear white pants or trousers, bound to happen if you do that 😂.
Have a nice night and start planning some stuff it will make you feel better I’m sure.

Hopefortansy85 · 31/07/2022 18:09

@PMAmostofthetime I wish we got any help on the NHS but nothing, my husband has a grown up son he hasn’t seen for 10years(issues with access and the mother), and I’ve never met, so we didn’t qualify at all. I’ve never had children. I think the system is a mess. It should be based on the woman and if they have children not the man.
But we found the funds somehow! Paid an extra £1000 for a second round as an insurance policy. I get free FET just have to pay for the drugs. So we have lucked out having 6 embryos on the first round. Think the clinic will be cursing us if we use them all on this plan.

Hopefortansy85 · 31/07/2022 18:10

@PMAmostofthetime test is next Sunday but I might test earlier though 😬

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 19:29

@Hopefortansy85 That's awful I'm Wales you can have children from previous relationships too. They can even live with you. As long as you don't have one together.

That's how it should be.

Hopefortansy85 · 31/07/2022 21:10

@PMAmostofthetime totally agree, I find it disgusting that there is such a difference in different places, if I ever in a make believe world won the lottery I would use the money to try and lobby to make it an even playing field.
You used to be able to have a boob job on the NHS if they deemed you to have mental anguish, but they don’t see infertility as mental anguish?! The whole thing is disgusting and broken.
As is parental alienation like my husband had. It’s made us having a family so very hard everything has been stacked against us. I just hope this works for us it would make us even happier than we are now and complete the family we have both been searching for so long for.

Dobcaty · 01/08/2022 09:20

@Hopefortansy85 I showed him your message 😉 and it did the trick. Af arrived this morning 🤭, finally as I was so bloated and felt heavy. Called the clinic, waiting their call back with dates and the prescription. I know the cost will be eye watering...

@PMAmostofthetime did you call your clinic with your news?

PMAmostofthetime · 01/08/2022 10:28

@Dobcaty Yay!!!! Glad you can get dates.

I did call :) Dye stealing line this morning and a cup of wee waiting upstairs for the Clear blue digital to arrive as I feel like I should do an actual test on OTD.

They are calling me back this afternoon. I know I'll need to to get more progesterone.

I think it was a new staff member who answered the phone as she was so excited for me and then asked her colleague what happened next.

Still not sunk in.

OH kept saying it's not real until Monday- now it's Monday! X

@PMAmostofthetime 🥳🥳🥳 I am so HAPPY for you! Please share those lines with us, love seeing them (positive messaging to my body what needs to do very soon 🤭)
Are you on injections too or just pessaries?

PMAmostofthetime · 01/08/2022 14:18

@Dobcaty

Here you go- just pessaries atm

@PMAmostofthetime yay it’s officially official!!! This is the point where I would go pull out all the baby stuff I’ve been hiding 🫣😬👀 haha. But you may celebrate in a less crazy person fashion!
@Dobcaty a bit of male competition of who gets up the earliest and can still do their duty was bound to stir something in him 🤣
so glad you can start your next go! I’m so glad I got the FET procedure free on our payment bundle thingy, our medication hasn’t been too bad.
The Estradiol is about £15 for 168 2mg and the Utrogestan is £25 for a week of 3 a day. I was told it would be £600 if I went to 12 weeks with the clinic, but we just go the pharmacy So it will work out at £330 if I make it to the 12weeks. But it’s not all at once which feels more manageable. But I think I’m on the most basic meds.

Dobcaty · 01/08/2022 16:33

@PMAmostofthetime look at those lines! Woohoo

@Hopefortansy85 definitely a competition! Haha

So I called the clinic in the morning and they said it's national shortage of Buserelin. I was calling all pharmacies around us all afternoon, no luck yet. Clinic will call again tomorrow with the planning dates but they warned if the injection not back in stock by the time I need to start, sadly we need to cancel this cycle. So angry! And I have two vials in my cupboard which just run out of date in July. (Just checked this morning).
I know I did the right thing to do some testing first, but now I wish I would start a month ago...

PMAmostofthetime · 01/08/2022 18:23

@Hopefortansy85 I still don't believe it- I did a clear blue just to see the pregnant!

@Dobcaty that's so annoying I was on the supracur version of Burserelin, hopefully they can source that. 🤞🏼

@PMAmostofthetime look it says the word!!! yay!!!!

@Dobcaty have you tried the fertility pharmacies. Stork , fertility2u and pharmacy2u etc apparently Asda carry a lot of fertility drugs apparently supracur is the same. (My oestrogen was a different brand than the clinic said)
I never had Burserelin it says it’s to block LH, so are you having a medicated cycle?

I had an assisted natural, I guess that’s because I’m bang on normal hormone wise, the clinic said today my progesterone was 31.5 and they like it around 30 so I was fine. I always thought my hormones were dodgy, turns out I’m just neurotic.

@LKSF How you feeling?

Hopefortansy85 · 01/08/2022 18:55

@Dobcaty pharmacy2u have this in stock? Suprecur (Buserelin) Injection 1mg/ml, 2 x 5.5ml injections.
is this what you are after?

LKSF · 01/08/2022 19:01

Sorry I work in Finance and with it being 1st of the month I’ve been soooo busy, so not had chance to even look at mumsnet today!

@Dobcaty Ah yay glad AF arrived and you can get the ball rolling 🥰

@PMAmostofthetime So nice to see those lines getting darker, bet it felt so good telling the clinic. What’s your next step?

@Hopefortansy85 I’m feeling ok thank you, it really hasn’t sank in, I feel quite numb tbh….think I’m just so petrified somethings going to go wrong!
I’ve got to have a hcg and progesterone blood test tomorrow but I couldn’t get in with my local doctors so I’m going to a private clinic 2hours away(so extra😂🙈) atleast with it being private though I get the results straight away so I’ll send them off to my clinic and then they let me know if I need to take progesterone injections or can just continue with pessaries! How are you feeling? Are you itching to test yet?

Hopefortansy85 · 01/08/2022 20:21

@LKSF.. it’s real, try and enjoy it, it might go wrong but then it might not, try hope for the best.
I may or may not have a spare test and I may or may not test when my husband goes to work tomorrow… 🤫😬 however I won’t say on here until I know for sure later, and my husband has to know first. I would have to persuade him to take an early test which more than likely isn’t happening.
i can’t believe my progesterone test cost £60 but it’s easier than dealing with our Gp and waiting a week for the results that they are more than likely to lose! Our GP never gets back to you with test results and you ring the reception a week later and they go, yeh it came back it was fine. Because they don’t know what they are reading!
It will be much better for you finding out after an hour.
Fingers and toes crossed for you!

Dobcaty · 01/08/2022 20:46

@Hopefortansy85 yes I tried all of them, I'm with Stork, but I talked with a very nice man from fertility2u who said they have/had the same expiry dates stock what I have, which cannot be sold anymore...and the whole country had this one. Hard to understand with a 2-year-shelf life medicine, did the UK not have any delivery since Covid? I know a lots of other medicine were out of stock as the manufacturers were concentrating to do vaccines...but how they can leave thousand of women in this situation?

This man also said they got daily update from the manufacturer and he hopes by end of this week they will have some news/dates. I really hope so as I have only 20 days to get it.

Yes I will have long protocol FET as my clinic doesn't do natural/natural modified or short cycles. I might ask tomorrow if there any alternative medicine. I cannot believe they're not seeking alternatives.

Dobcaty · 01/08/2022 20:49

Sorry for my rant 😅😂

@Hopefortansy85 did you check medichecks? They have progesterone blood test for £39 and today is a 21%discount on everything.
