Anybody having FET July or August?

Just waiting for my next cycle to start after a freeze all cycle. It should've been here last week but seems to be delayed so I feel like it's just a ticking clock. This will be my first FET, first ever transfer actually.

Anybody else in the same boat and want to keep me company?

@Roobles79 I am just catching up with the thread and am so sorry about your bleeding. I just wanted to share that with my previous pregnancy (IVF ICSI and now a healthy two year old) I had significant bleeding with pain two days before the seven week scan. It actually went on for two-three weeks afterwards too but the scan showed a heartbeat. We were amazed! No idea what caused it xx

Gracie2021 · 11/08/2022 10:03

Hi guys, just wondering what ye think of the progression on these? Really worried it's stalled since 8dpt.... I'm still six days out from getting my beta results so not much I can do but monitor tests....

Anybody having FET July or August?
Roobles79 · 11/08/2022 10:24

Hi @Gracie2021 thats a good strong line to my eyes. Don't think you need to worry. Congratulations xx how are you feeling?

Roobles79 · 11/08/2022 10:27

@Saltisford amazing, thank you for sharing that with me. Does seem to be quite common with ivf pregnancies doesn't it. When ai rang the on call consultant about the bleed she said its not looking good and pretty much wrote it off as a chemical, but when ai spoke to the nurses the following day, they were much more knowledgeable and informative. I'm still not getting my hopes up too high though. How's things with you, do you have a date for the transfer yet?

Gracie2021 · 11/08/2022 10:32

Thanks @Roobles79 I know I'm overthinking it, just could see any progression and my cramps have gone from sore to very painful today so all the stress. Just waiting on my beta til next Tuesday so test anxiety is all I have. Are you still clear of any more bleeding today? Hope you're doing well and things are going more smoothly. Are you waiting on a scan at the mo?

@JessLaw96 I have crinone gel which comes with an applicator yhankfully as it makes it so much easier to insert. Glad you're able to work it into your routine. Do you find nannying hard physically at the moment?

JessLaw96 · 11/08/2022 10:35

@Gracie2021 they are really good strong lines in my opinion so I wouldnt worry at all!

I am finding nannying quite tough especially this week, seem to feel a lot more tired than before and trying to find a toilet to wee every 2 minutes as well! Trying to still accomplish my day to day tasks without overdoing is hard too

Roobles79 · 11/08/2022 10:58

@Gracie2021 the cramps can be unpredictable and varying in strength I find. Probably just everything doing its thing to accommodate the growing embryo.

Roobles79 · 11/08/2022 10:59

@agapanthus13 realised I forgot to reply to you. Yes, I will do another test tomorrow I think. How are you doing?

Saltisford · 11/08/2022 18:33

@Roobles79 yes the date is 25th August for the transfer. My lining measured 8.9mm and apparently I have a triple echo line which is good?!

Gracie2021 · 11/08/2022 19:27

Really hope you have a good test tomorrow and hopefully provides some reassurance @Roobles79!

That's a fantastic lining @Saltisford, are you on a medicated transfer? So estrogen therapy next couple weeks then progesterone?

Saltisford · 11/08/2022 21:39

@Gracie2021 yes that’s it but the transfer is delayed slightly as I ended up with a shot of prostap after initially injecting buserelin for 6 days due to the buserelin shortage - the supply I had been given had a short date, was about to expire and I couldn’t get more.

Are there general stats for the chance of an embryo failing to thaw? Does anyone know?

Rtmhwales · 12/08/2022 02:05

Thanks all for the well wishes. HCG on Wednesday was 2070 so it's doubled as it should but given the tests were 4 days apart they're unsure. With my DS my results more than doubled over 2 days and I ended up with severe HG so in theory these could have quadrupled over the weekend and then started to lower (miscarriage) or could have doubled normally. So I have one more blood test scheduled tomorrow 2.5 days after the previous test and that should give some clarity.

@ParkerH1 You and I seem to be having the same kind of roller coaster ride. On Wednesday I had a huge bleed, worse than a period (mine are always light, this was medium) including black clots. Six hours of period like cramping, 12 hours of bleeding. The HCG was still high though so it's become a wait and see approach/threatened miscarriage. I wish they'd scan earlier but it's too early to really see anything. I know it wouldn't change anything but the not knowing and ups and downs are messing with my head so bad!

I have a scan tentatively booked 25 August because I'm out of town on a trip rescheduled because of IVF for the 5 days before. Fingers crossed we make it there and everything stays alright. When is your scan?

@Saltisford My clinic gave odds of 85-95% thawing intact and said it's rarely an issue but I'd say it's clinic dependent?

OP posts:
Gracie2021 · 12/08/2022 10:12

I'd heard over 95% thaw these days @Saltisford with more sophisticated freezing methods.... that said I didn't relax morning of til they told me it was thawed. Fingers crossed all goes well!

Glad your numbers came back well @Rtmhwales and here's hoping you get further confirmation in the next test and can breathe a sigh of relief for a while. Such a difficult time, thinking of you x

Fingers crossed for your test today @Roobles79!

I'd say it's exhausting @JessLaw96, are the kids you're minding easy going enough or is it full on? The constant peeing is great fun isn't it! Guzzling water with the heat so no idea if it's more than normal when that's factored in....

Agapanthus13 · 12/08/2022 10:30

@Roobles79 sorry for the delayed reply, how are you doing? So pleased to hear the bleeding has stopped, fingers crossed it’s all progressing ok?
I’ve been feeling pretty rough the last few days -sooo tired, hot, vomiting, feeling faint, crazy thirsty etc my husband keeps saying how great it is and I know it is, but it doesn’t make it anymore enjoyable. Ive got a big deadline for work today and I just don’t see how I’m going to get it done. My scans on Tuesday so seems to be coming round quickly which is great. X any suggestions on the symptoms would be much appreciated- I’m on dry crackers and warm water.

Roobles79 · 12/08/2022 11:07

@agapanthus13 that's fab about the symptoms all positive but it is very hard to go through. What about fizzy pop could u tolerate that? And dry cereal helps next to the bed for the morning. Just little and often I would say and don't worry too much about eating healthy, just eat what you fancy when you can. Best of luck for scan on Tues. Hope you manage to hit the deadline for work. Its hard juggling everything.

I'm feeling flaky today so I haven't tested as I forgot first thing this morning!! X

JessLaw96 · 12/08/2022 11:31

@Gracie2021 they arnt too bad i have 3 boys aged 2,8 and 10 so its ok. Thankfully! Oh yess the joys!
just had my bloods done! Need to wait till around 5pm for phone call now

how are you doing?

Gracie2021 · 12/08/2022 11:42

Wow full house @JessLaw96! Glad you're managing ok. I WFH and am so glad of it as am wrecked. Don't know if it's just the heat though. So excited for you, fingers crossed for the bloods. All good here, just waiting on Monday with great impatience!!

JessLaw96 · 12/08/2022 11:48

@Gracie2021 yeah i know what you mean Im the same!
whats on monday for you?

Agapanthus13 · 12/08/2022 12:14

@Roobles79 just tried some dried cereal and it seems to be staying down 🙏 thank you! Guessing it’s the sugar in there.
I think having a break from testing can actually make the world of difference to our mental health. I didn’t have symptoms til the last few days so wondered whether to test but the stress over line progression etc has just been too much in the past so I’ve tried to keep away. Do you have a scan date booked?

Gracie2021 · 12/08/2022 12:42

@Agapanthus13 glad you've found what works. Hope you're feeling better soon!

I'm first bloods on Monday @JessLaw96. Feels like confirmation of this whole thing really. Won't get the result until Tuesday though. Going to see if I can get them to test my progesterone too. Will they do more bloods for you now depending on results this evening or will they be booking you in for a scan?

Very strange just realised my resting heart rate has dropped from my usual 66ish to 60 after transfer. Interesting what the body does.

ParkerH1 · 12/08/2022 15:11

@Roobles79 @Rtmhwales hiya yeah so basically I have nothing to do with the clinic now they've discharged me because I had my 7 week scan and shows def positive with heartbeat so now have to wait for midwife which isn't until 29th August and then my 12 week scan is 8th September again with midwife. So haven't really been told very much till I see midwife all medication has been upped I am now on 6 pessaries a day to try and reduce risk of miscarriage but personally I don't think it's doing anything different.

Its very much a world wind isn't it. It hasn't been easy honestly the second was worse but since the 3rd bleed I've just has little bits coming away sorry to be visual but may help at ease, more like strands of veins browny colour.

Glitterandunicorns · 12/08/2022 16:07

Hi all, can I join you please? I had my FET on Tuesday so I'm 3dp5dt now.

This is my second go round (got a BFN in my first cycle in which I only got two blasts and transferred both).

In this one, we had to do a freeze-all as my oestrogen levels got too high during collection so they weren't happy to do a fresh transfer.

We ended up only having one to freeze so currently crossing my fingers as I'm pretty sure this will be our last attempt (we're self funded).

Yesterday I was having a lot of cramps and discomfort. I had a tiny bit of cramping this morning but not as bad as yesterday. There were some complications during my transfer though so I wonder whether those may just have been down to all the extra prodding and poking that happened (I needed an internal examination as they were concerned about possible cervix abnormalities. They said everything was fine in the end).

My OTD is Thursday 18th. The first time round I started bleeding before OTD so they gave me Lubion injections as well as Cyclogest pessaries this time round.

I presume it's the meds, but I am absolutely shattered and needing to have naps at least once per day as well as early nights. It's all fun and games isn't it!

Gracie2021 · 12/08/2022 20:34

Hi @Glitterandunicorns 👋 and best of luck. Sounds like you've had a tough road to get here. I average one embryo a round myself, it can such. Really hope this is your time! I have had cramping consistently since transfer and it's been a good thing as I'm seeing positives so far so hopefully the same for you.

That's so frustrating that you're left waiting so long for the next scan @ParkerH1 and must be so scary. Really really hope it quietness down for you soon. Can't imagine how worrying it is. Do you have much support round you that you can lean on?

Rtmhwales · 12/08/2022 20:55

@Agapanthus13 I suffered from severe HG with my DS and I've had it with two of my miscarriages, too. You have my sympathies and prayers it's just regular morning sickness. Red Gatorade was the only thing I tolerated well. I've had random bouts of an hour or two of the sea sickness feeling in the last few days so hopefully that means it's progressing on my end. They say the sicker you are the better it is for the pregnancy (though I had two miscarriages with sickness so I'm half convince whoever they are they're talking out of their arse )

@ParkerH1 I know they have to eventually discharge us but it feels wild it's so early! It's like I paid you all this money the least you could do it scan me biweekly (daily) until the 12 weeks. I hope you'll come back and update us!

As for me, more bleeding and sever cramps today. Just waiting on the call in the next few hours to see how the blood work looks. Not holding my breath and prepared to be sad but you never know.
