Hiya

Is anyone else due to start treatment July 2022 or around then?

I thought to make this thread so that we can all have a chat whilst going through treatment so that we don't feel alone.

Wishing you all the best of luck on your journey.

@Rosemary121 aww that’s lovely to hear it went well, shame about the video but great you got a pic at least. They always show me a live stream video of mine but I’ve never see anything grow (or even thought to look out for it, just concentrating on the pushing on my bladder I guess 🤣) What do your videos not all show? I’ve also never been told (or heard of) the percentage intact- what does it mean? Is it something you ask the embryologist? Your clinic sound a step ahead of mine in giving a great experience!
my transfer went ok thanks, it was a little more tricky getting the route in this time and so I’m a bit crampy this eve (I’ve skipped the usual dog walk did sofa time!) but super pleased to have embie on board.
im really sorry my brain is mush atm so apologies if you’ve already told me but did you transfer a single embryo? Is this your second time? Xx

Rosemary121 · 21/07/2022 20:47

@Agapanthus13 It was just a video of the embryo being transferred but we didn't get to see it, not the end of the world and the nurses were so apologetic! The embryologist told us how much of it had survived without me asking, I did ask if they graded it again though. Apparently it just indicates how much of it survived the freeze and thaw, anything over 70% is what they look for. I did some googling and it doesn't necessarily have any impact on later development as long as it's not really low from what I could understand! We transfer a single embryo yes and first ever transfer as we had a freeze all cycle.

Glad your transfer went well too, are you taking it easy for a few days? Did you transfer a single embryo too?

PMAmostofthetime · 21/07/2022 21:39

@Tonim86 That's amazing news.

@Agapanthus13 @Rosemary121 glad transfers went well.
mines OTD is the 1st Aug, I'm going to try and hold out. We got a picture and was able to rewatch the Embie going in and filmed it on OH Phone. X

Agapanthus13 · 21/07/2022 22:00

@Rosemary121 ahh yes, we just had a single embie transferred too. Over the next few days I’ll try and carry on as normal but I find the meds do make me feel tired so no doubt a nap or two added in. And drinking the 2L of water a day! Think I’ll wfh tomorrow. Have you arranged things to take it easy if needed?

@PMAmostofthetime thats a great idea to film it, it’s never crossed my mind!

did your partners join you for transfer? As we started in Covid my husband wasn’t allowed in for the first one so I’ve never thought to take him to any, perhaps he’d enjoy seeing it?

PMAmostofthetime · 21/07/2022 22:53

@Agapanthus13 First one he didn't second one he did m- he was pretty traumatised to be honest but was nice for him to re-watch the screen with me after x

Lucyrw · 21/07/2022 23:14

Heyyy,

Hope youre well.

Be great to chat. We have just signed all our consent forms for treatment to start. Starting to feel real now and very anxious.

We are going through pgd due to chromosomes on my partners side.

Would love to speak to people who are on the same journey. Feels abit lonely

Xx

acaciabluebell · 22/07/2022 00:14

Hi everyone. I'm starting Provera next week to kick start my first round of IVF. Was supposed to be norethisterone but there was a pharmacy shortage. I'm very worried (probably irrationally) about Provera taking longer and my cycle being delayed as it will mess up all my planned annual leave and holiday plans. Has anyone else taken Provera instead of norethisterone and how long did it take for your period to start after stopping it?

PMAmostofthetime · 22/07/2022 08:15

@acaciabluebell welcome, northesteroine or Burserelin didn't got the schedule for me and my period was a week later on both.
It's just a waiting game I'm afraid.

@Lucyrw Welcome, How exciting that your getting ready to start. It is an anxious time but the ladies on here have a wealth of knowledge that can help.

Eggling · 22/07/2022 14:10

Hi @acaciabluebell I took provera to kickstart my period this time and it started 3 days after my last pill which I think is what it said it would do. I've had norithisterone not work at all before though so think there's an element of how you react to it individually.

Welcome @Lucyrw how exciting you're just starting out! Please ask anything you want, we are all at different stages so hopefully someone will have answers for you 😊

@Agapanthus13 we were in Covid times for first transfer so DH wasn't allowed in and he's on childcare duties this time so I'm flying solo again. Tbh I don't think he missed anything, plus my clinic gave us a printout of the screen at the moment they popped the embryo in so he saw as much as he would have done anyway.

@Agapanthus13 @Rosemary121 congratulations on being PUPO! Waiting to go in for my FET now so hopefully joining you very shortly!

@Tonim86tgats fantastic news! So pleased for you 😊

Hope everyone is doing well, fingers crossed for our little embies!!

thislittlebird · 22/07/2022 17:48

Bookbug92 · 20/07/2022 21:24

@thislittlebird 🤣 lucozade's incredibly sweet! I bought some coconut water this afternoon but I've never had it before - I'm probably the only person who hasn't tried it yet!

I've got some cyclogest for later on but after reading lots of people's experiences I'd like them to test my levels on transfer day, but it was basically a point blank no!

How are you finding the coconut water @Bookbug92 ?

I'm in the freaking out 2ww stage now. Worrying constantly it hasn't worked again, not chill at all.

PMAmostofthetime · 22/07/2022 18:04

@Eggling I think my OH wishes he didn't come in lol he went white when they strapped my feet in 🤣

@thislittlebird I was really positive then I woke up this morning and decided it hadn't worked just like that. I woke up with a headache but other than that no change from yesterday but I've completely switched from yes this is it to it hasn't worked 🙈😢 x

thislittlebird · 22/07/2022 19:35

@PMAmostofthetime It's weird how your mood changes through the tww. I was very down after the transfer, then on day 3 and 4 I had the tiniest bit of blood tinged CM and spent the whole two days trying to convince myself it was nothing so I don't have any hope, but then I had hope and got annoyed about it, but I'm now I'm back to feeling pessimistic again. I think having that one failure has convinced me nothing positive will come from this.

PMAmostofthetime · 22/07/2022 19:52

@thislittlebird I'm the same. I think the hormones we just pumped out body's with and the progesterone just doesn't help either.
I even told OH it hasn't worked he was like well it never will then, so that's both of us a pessimistic pair 🙈.

Agapanthus13 · 22/07/2022 19:59

@Eggling oooh how did you get on today? You feeling ok this evening lovely? I’m sure you’ve already said but is this your first transfer and have you had a single embie put in on a FET? Your just a day behind a couple of us xx my otd is next Saturday, what date have you got? I don’t know why every clinic do different lengths!
@PMAmostofthetime I did wonder if it my traumatise my DH too 🤣
our sex life had already nose dived due to ivf so I don’t think that would really help. I’m never sure when you can / can’t have sex and I’m so worried about it screwing up ivf (My two clinics have given different advise) so we basically abstain. X

Agapanthus13 · 22/07/2022 20:15

@thislittlebird the 2ww is such a massive head f* in its own right without adding in the additional hormones, I actually cried when the nurse gave me my test date yesterday, just all the emotions involved. Make sure you’re kind to yourself, as you’ve had one cycle your dr will have way more idea of what you need for your second so def don’t think because the first failed the second will. We’re all here to chat if you want xxx

PMAmostofthetime · 22/07/2022 20:28

@Agapanthus13 Snap- I'm like no you can't come near me- also fun fact last time I was on pessaries he had to have bloods and his progesterone was really high 😂🙈.

So I kept reminding him- it's bad for his health too.

Agapanthus13 · 22/07/2022 20:39

@PMAmostofthetime that must have traumatised him even more 🤣🤣🤣

Bookbug92 · 22/07/2022 21:38

Congrats on being PUPO @Rosemary121 and @Agapanthus13!

@thislittlebird I'm not sure if I like coconut water or not... the smell seems to put me off as I go for a sip if you know what I mean!

I went for another scan today, I now have 35 follicles, the largest measuring 18mm and the rest evenly distributed down to 6mm. The plan is to keep stimming and return for another scan on Monday, with egg collection possibly Wednesday - seems very real all of a sudden! I feel like with this figures I will definitely having to freeze all

Rosemary121 · 23/07/2022 07:52

@Lucyrw Welcome – ah how exciting for you to get going, do you know what protocol or meds you’ll be on yet?

@acaciabluebell – Welcome, how are you feeling about it all? The worst part I find about it all is the waiting and not knowing when to expect different things, it can make things very difficult to plan!

@Eggling Congrats on being PUPO! How was the transfer for you? Hope you can take things easy for a couple of days?

Rosemary121 · 23/07/2022 07:53

@Bookbug92 Thank you! First time for me so it’s a weird feeling with a mix of emotions. That’s a great number and a good range of follicle sizes! I ended up having a freeze all cycle, mainly as there were quite a few bigger ones. I was in a similar situation to you where before the weekend there were quite a few but none too big but over the weekend they all seemed to catch up! I’ve heard that sometimes freeze all cycles are a good idea because it gives your body a good chance to settle down after EC, and FET are just as successful as fresh transfers. How are you feeling?

@PMAmostofthetime oh my that must have given him a bit of a shock! My OH came in for the transfer too, I think he appreciated being there but most of the time had no idea what was going on or what he was looking at on the screen!

I can’t stand coconut water! I do think quite a lot of water in the day and I find having a fruit tea can be a good way to drink more whilst trying to avoid too much caffeine! Have you all made any changes like drinking decaf coffee or anything like that? I know they say you can have up to two mugs of coffee a day but I have bought decaf instead, I just find I need a good cup of coffee in the morning!

Eggling · 23/07/2022 08:26

@Agapanthus13 @Rosemary121 thanks! It's my second FET, first resulted in DD who is now a rowdy toddler. It went well, unfortunately the first embryo didn't survive thawing but the second did so got a 4AB on board. One more frostie remaining. My OTD is 1st august but probably going to do a home test next Saturday tbh

PMAmostofthetime · 23/07/2022 09:55

@LKSF There are lots of us in this group in 2ww.

@Agapanthus13 just a little 🤣

@Bookbug92 I can't stomach coconut water but it's a little better with squash in. I try to only have 2 max lucozade sport a day and the rest water.
Wow that's lots of follicles-
I can't remember how many I had but I had 20 eggs retrieved and I drank 3-4 litres of water a day and 1-2 lucozade nothing else along with upping my protein intake and although I was very bloated and sore for 3 days after EC it subsided and I was able to go ahead with collection.

@Rosemary121 He's glad he came in but he said it was a strange experience-
And why were they strapping your feet down- I thought they were going to hurt you and it was to stop you moving.

Anyone having any insomnia.
I'm constantly tired yet when I get to bed I can't sleep! So frustrating.

PMAmostofthetime · 23/07/2022 10:37

@Rosemary121 I have given up all caffeine- I don't drink tea or coffee or any soft drinks with caffeine in. This is because I used to drink excessive amounts of soft drinks a day and I found it easier to stop that cute back in the last 3 weeks I have only actually drank one can of soft drink- because I've had to drink so much water and lucozade sport.

John100 · 23/07/2022 14:21

Just a quick update. We are now 15dpt and the test has changed to 2-3 weeks. Hewitt centre have booked us in for our first scan on the 10th August. Feels so long away! They confirmed that they don’t do blood tests as the clear blue tests are really accurate after this amount of time?

anyway, fingers crossed !

@Bookbug92 That's why I mixed it with pineapple juice! Was nicer that way.
