Hi

I am just wondering if anyone is currently with Newcastle fertility Clinic for IVF? I think I would just like to hear if someone is having a similar experience to me and how you are finding it :)

@MitoMam thank you so much. I go for a scan in 3 weeks time then if all is ok I will get transferred to the usual maternity service after that.
Hopefully this is just the beginning of good news on this thread.
It does seem like a relentless slog but I hope my news has given you some hope.

@IVFGotThis05 cake has been consumed 😬 although I’m straight back on the healthy eating now 😅 🤣

Hi everyone, just an update. Got my positive yesterday. I know so much can happen from now on so am not counting my chickens (or babies!) just yet. Wishing everyone on here the best of luck in their journeys. The staff at the Centre for Life are amazing, and please know that you are in excellent hands.

IVFGotThis05 · 05/10/2022 09:15

@Confused19831983 ahhhh ! Another positive!!! Huge congratulations and sending you all the luck for your pregnancy!! 😊Hopefully this is a thread that brings babies this round ! 😍

Congratulations @Confused19831983 !!! Hope it all goes well for you. All good news in this thread atm!

MitoMam · 05/10/2022 11:34

Thanks @IVFGotThis05 ! We got 10 eggs! Now I'm just nervous about how many fertilise etc. Non stop worry! Wish I could just stop and appreciate we've got this far as it seemed impossible last month. I've been googling and obviously the numbers just drop at every stage. How many eggs did other people get, and most importantly how many of those got to blastocyst stage?

We're not sure if I will be getting fresh or frozen transfer as my lining isn't as thick as they would like but it's a good pattern so they said they will decide on Monday.

IVFGotThis05 · 05/10/2022 11:51

10 is a really good starting number!! I had 12 follicles collected, 9 were mature eggs, 6 fertilised and 3 made it to blast, I've only just really took in the pattern! -3 every time for me!

It's always onto the next worry isn't it!? But just keep in your head in only takes 1.. the famous IVF saying! 😊Fingers crossed for you!!🙏

Ah good to know! Hope I get similar results. The embryologist said most people don't get the option to freeze eggs and they just hope for one viable embryo at the end of this. I don't know if she was giving us a bit of a reality check but most people you hear of (via Google/mumsnet) have some spare for freezing. I suppose it just gives you a bit of a safety net if the first attempt doesn't go to plan.

Yeah, the worry never ends but hoping to just distract myself as much as possible for the next couple of days. Any tips welcome.

Farmersweeklyreader · 05/10/2022 18:13

@Confused19831983 massive congratulations. I was thinking about you yesterday and hoping for a good outcome. X

Farmersweeklyreader · 05/10/2022 18:21

@MitoMam 10 is a great number! I had 5 eggs collected, only 2 were mature. Luckily they both fertilised. Had them both put back in (this is what they advised unless we were against twins) one was a hatching blastocyst and the other one was nearly at blastocyst stage. Embryologist said the same to us, that we were aiming for one good embryo to put back in. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you. I know this part is very hard, waiting to hear if they have fertilised then more waiting to see how they get on. Best of luck. X

Farmersweeklyreader · 05/10/2022 18:22

@IVFGotThis05 how are you getting on?

MitoMam · 05/10/2022 18:33

That's a good success rate that 2 made it to transfer @Farmersweeklyreader ! Thanks for sharing.

IVFGotThis05 · 06/10/2022 12:36

@Farmersweeklyreader I'm alright! Time still going super slow. TMI, but I finally had my bleed so hopefully buserelin is doing the job and shutting down. Scan to check is not until the 12th.

I'm really wishing I respond well to everything, if my timeline is correct I would be transferring (If I'm lucky enough to get to that stage) the day before my best friend's wedding... which I am bridesmaid for! So, any delays and it might roll into her wedding and I've no idea what I'd do!

OP posts:
MitoMam · 07/10/2022 09:35

@IVFGotThis05 the buserelin bit does feel like it takes aaaaaaages. You're injecting and have no idea if it's having any impact or not until your scan. At least you know this bit worked last time and you were able to get to egg collection? Have they said if they will do anything differently if you get to the embryo transfer stage?

Ahhhhhhh it's so hard when it's all up in the air!!! Obviously if you had to have a transfer on the day of her wedding she would understand but it's really not ideal. Fingers crossed you get to that stage but a couple of days later then it would all work out! I hope the bridesmaid dress is nice and floaty. I'm so bloated and I've only been on progesterone a couple of days.

We had to cancel our holiday this week. We were supposed to fly to Tenerife on Sunday but we have a possible fresh embryo transfer on Monday so had to reschedule it. We got to a point where we didn't think it would happen this year and my egg donor is going on holiday next week so we thought we would as we can't do anything without her eggs (obviously!). Turns out she's timed it perfectly! Gave us her eggs and now next week she can go off and enjoy her holiday and drink cocktails 😁

Farmersweeklyreader · 09/10/2022 18:14

@IVFGotThis05 glad things are going to plan re the buserelin.
You have certainly got a lot going on with best pals wedding and transfer day. I’m sure it will all come together beautifully though. You might even have to transfer a bit earlier or later than the wedding. Fingers crossed for good news at your scan on the 12th, not long to go now. Hopefully everything is going on the right direction.

Farmersweeklyreader · 09/10/2022 18:18

@MitoMam Hope things are going well with your embryos. It’s a shame you had to cancel your holiday but you won’t regret it. All the best for your transfer day

IVFGotThis05 · 12/10/2022 15:42

I'm all set to go ahead with stims tomorrow 🎉

How is everyone doing?

OP posts:
MitoMam · 12/10/2022 16:47

Good news @IVFGotThis05 . How you feeling about the stims this time?

We went ahead with fresh transfer on Monday. It felt very strange to actually get to that point with everything that's happened. Now we just need to wait for test day.

IVFGotThis05 · 12/10/2022 16:53

@MitoMam ahhh congratulations on being PUPO! 😊Try to keep yourself busy and I'm sending all the baby dust!

I'm feeling okay! Not looking forward to 2 injections now but hey ho, it'll be over before I know it. This next bit is a bit up and down waiting to see if everything is as should be.

OP posts:
Farmersweeklyreader · 12/10/2022 20:34

@IVFGotThis05 great news! Hope this next bit goes ok for you. Injections are rubbish but hopefully the time will fly by. How long will you be injecting for?

Farmersweeklyreader · 12/10/2022 20:35

@MitoMam So glad your transfer went ahead 😁How are you feeling?

IVFGotThis05 · 13/10/2022 11:13

@Farmersweeklyreader I'm not sure, I start tonight and my first scan to check the progress is next Thursday 20th.. provisional date for egg collection is 26th so probably about 2 weeks depending how I get on.

OP posts:
Raizelrea · 13/10/2022 20:58

Would it be ok if I joined? We've done 2 transfers at the Centre for Life, fresh one ended up being a chemical and just recently had a frozen one (9 dpt) that is looking positive so far - but I'm too scared to believe it after last time. I must say all the staff there have been absolutely class so far!

IVFGotThis05 · 14/10/2022 11:02

@Raizelrea Ahh 9dpt .. so, is this test day for you? It must be hard to stay positive if you've had a loss, I'll keep everything crossed for you!

I think I had a new lady the other day called Lucy and she was the nicest member of staff I've had to deal with so far. Sometimes I've felt a bit rushed and not very personal in there, but she really made me feel like she was interested in my journey 😊The others have been nice don't get me wrong!
