Hi,

I'm just starting this thread as i've kept joining previous ones in hope that I would be at the same time but got left behind with the ups and downs of ivf.
After 3 cycles, 2 failed fresh transfers, PGT-A testing to give us 3 euploid embryos and just now getting our results from the ALICE/EMMA/ERA tests, I am now finally in a position to hopefully start FET on my next cycle with a transfer likely to be end of May or early June!! 😍. Would love to have people to chat to who are following a similar timeline.

Thank you everyone. I am appreciative of the NHS but i think in instances like this we should be able to seen as an emergency. My OH wanted to pay for another scan, but we had a wedding to attend. Hardest thing to be in a limbo then people asking why you're not drinking. Taking my medication i am really struggling with, because i still have symptoms. My appointment is tomorrow at the hospital. Really caught up with me today.

Has anyone who has had a MMC, did their Fertility clinic do anything differently next time round?

Coops0406 · 17/07/2022 21:13

@HJen22 research on fertility clinics is a minefield in itself, let alone ivf treatment!! I hope you are feeling good and positive. Have you had lots of fun things going on?

@Dobcaty good re: blood results.
Were you going to do the Alice/Emma/era tests too?
I think I ovulated last month and we tried but as usual no point to it! The fact I need such high doses of hormones leads me to believe that my eggs that are released are quite immature in general, if at all they are even released! But, I had really bad pains in my right ovary around ovulation time, which then continued...went for a scan and they confirmed my thoughts that I had a cyst on my right ovary. But it was a haemorragic cyst which she said can be the follicle filling with blood after ovulation! So I feel like my body at least slightly works, just not enough!

I have added a few more vitamins and supplements into the mix this time, feel like a walking bottle of pills! Have got vitamin E, L-arginine and omega 3 as well as my others so we'll see if that makes any difference!

@Coops0406 thanks for asking. I'm ok, been taking some time out from it all. I have my follow up coming this week so see what they say but I've made the decision it won't be till November at the earliest that we try again. We have odd things on & I want to enjoy myself as it's been a tough time. I was meant to go to Liverpool this weekend on a hen do but unfortunately on the Thursday night I wasn't too well think I had a bug so was gutted to miss that but there will be other things to look forward too! Today was my nieces 2nd birthday so been celebrating that with the family which has been nice. That's great that you have the ball rolling for the next FET! I hope you have been well & enjoying yourself x

PMAmostofthetime · 17/07/2022 23:10

@Coops0406 how exciting! So glad you have a timeline now.

Yea I have a time slot of 2:20 preliminary booked. But so nervous that none of them are going to make it, so anxiously awaiting the call in the morning.

@Dobcaty I feel sooo much better I was drinking so much water ( at least 4 litres) and at least 2 Lucozade sport a day ( still am) and I upped my protein. Mainly with protein yoghurts and Grenade bars as I'm not a huge fan of meat but it seems to have worked. So praying some embies make it to blasts so that I can have transfer tomorrow.

Hope you can start soon.

Dobcaty · 18/07/2022 10:18

@Coops0406 I know what you mean walking bottle of pills...5 yrs ago I couldn't swallow a multivitamin, nowadays one of my kitchen cupboard is full of them. Sometimes I think I should just chuck them into the bin.
We don't do era/alice and emma test yet. They did a full blood count, TSH (FT3, FT4) TPO, different types of antibodies and lupus anticoagulant.

4th August will be here in no time. Did they change your protocol?

@PMAmostofthetime good luck today!!

@HJen22 good to hear from you. Are you thinking to change clinic?

It's going to be 37 degrees in here today 🥵 and I wish if I could be on the beach and swim in the cold water haha

HJen22 · 18/07/2022 11:36

@Coops0406 my positivity goes up and down to be honest. Both rounds have went so terribly bad like I'm not sure they could have gone worse. Trying to keep busy and we've a holiday at the end of August so that will be nice.

@Reefy I hope you are keeping well lovely. Our next cycle won't be any time soon either. A break will do us good I think. I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly and missed your weekend away 😞

@PMAmostofthetime I hope you've had a good update this morning and good luck today!!!

@Dobcaty yeah we're going to have to go private so it's a case of researching lots and figuring out what's best to do. Unless we wait on the NHS donor list. We've our follow up call this Thursday finally over a month later where I'm sure the Dr will be brutally honest and tell me my own eggs are no use x

Reefy · 18/07/2022 11:41

@HJen22 yes I'm ok thank you. How about you? Yes it definitely will do. I still think about it but I'm trying not to & enjoy life & be the old me again if that makes sense. Yes was gutted but one of those things! She is having a home hen in a few weeks so Il make up for it then! Good luck with your follow up.
Hope everyone is well & managing to stay cool! X

HJen22 · 18/07/2022 12:10

@Reefy I'm ok too ❤️ Go through days of being really proactive and wanting to get the ball rolling, to other days when I just don't want to even properly think about it and what to do next. As you say, I do always think about it but I am also trying to get a little of me back. Ah lovely, that's great you can go to the home hen! Thank you, I've root canal and the follow up on the same day ha how fun so I've taken the day as a holiday. Good luck with your follow up too xxx

PMAmostofthetime · 18/07/2022 12:21

Hey guys only 1 made it to Blast can't say I'm not devastated after having 10 good quality or excellent on Saturday but glad there is one chance.

They'll give me the grading later just getting ready to go for transfer x

PMAmostofthetime · 18/07/2022 15:56

Coops0406 · 18/07/2022 19:00

@Reefy I hope the follow up goes well. It will be nice just to have a nice summer and enjoy yourself then look at things again in November. It will be here in no time but you will also have chance to feel like your old self again!

@PMAmostofthetime congrats on being PUPO!! And you have 2 in the freezer which is wonderful news! Wishing you all the best, got everything crossed for you 🤞🏾

@Dobcaty haha! It's ridiculous the size of some of these tablets too!! What will they do differently if the blood tests show anything?
The only difference for me is they will put me on a low dose of clexane (they suggested a thrombophilia blood test and this other test for a certain mutation in a gene that causes implantation issues but they would only prescribe 40mg clexane and without it they'll give me 20mg of the stuff). I have an appointment at the GPs on Wednesday as my friend said they should help towards tests etc so asking if they will do a thrombophilia test for me. What are those blood tests you had? Wondering if it's worth me asking them to throw some of them in too whilst I'm there!!

@HJen22 it's so hard this journey! Some days the motivation is there to get cracking and then others you wonder why you're doing it to yourself.
Great that you have your holiday to look forward to, where are you going?

@Herewegoagain881 @Dobcaty @Coops0406
Thank you!

Top top for anyone on pessaries in this heat- my doctor today to me to pop them in the fridge- they will reach room temp in this heat and won't crumble on insertion so less mess x

2021ivfagain · 19/07/2022 06:35

@PMAmostofthetime

Hi. I’m sorry for interrupting the thread. I’m also doing IVF but had a delayed cycle due to high fsh. However, the heat is stressing me out with storing all the medication. I put crinone pressaries in the fridge. Can they be stored this way? Thanks

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 09:09

@2021ivfagain Welcome- I'm on Cyclogest and my doctor recommended it . I just googled Crinone and it says it recommends that they go in the fridge :) on their advice leaflet if your stressed though give your clinic a call that's what they are there for x

2021ivfagain · 19/07/2022 09:12

@PMAmostofthetime

Thanks. I’m an emotional mess today as my fsh was too high. I’m worried my consultant won’t let me try again next month.

Dream5678 · 19/07/2022 09:35

Update from scan with Nhs yesterday. No yolk sac seen or heartbeat they said i am measuring at 5wks 5days. Per their policy i have to have another scan 7days later this does not differ if you're an ivf patient. Which i disagree with their is no way i don't know how far along i am.. i sa a heartbeat at 6wks 2days so i know outcome. I pushed the hospital to give my options. So they have booked me in for a procedure next week if i don't start naturally.

My Fertility clinic have been amazing and are happy for me to stop medication although Nhs have told me i need to continue.

Hoping my clinic do a different protocol next time round which may help support pregnancy.

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 13:56

@2021ivfagain up your protein intake it will help- I've been eating Arlo yoghurt pouches as you can have them on the go and there's 23g of protein in them, I also bought a box of grenade protein bars off Amazon I have them as a snack they have 20g's in so I've had a least 40g protein before lunch.

@Dream5678 so sorry to hear this- it's heartbreaking. Thinking of you.

Dream5678 · 19/07/2022 15:17

@PMAmostofthetime thank you I'm just in limbo at the moment so feels worse.

PMAmostofthetime · 19/07/2022 15:59

@Dream5678 any loss is hard but loss after IVF is 10 x worse 💔

Herewegoagain881 · 19/07/2022 19:51

@Dream5678 I'm so sorry... I'm surprised the NHS are taking that view, it doesn't make any sense for them to need to do another scan in seven days if you already saw a heartbeat previously...

Dobcaty · 22/07/2022 12:27

I know this thread went quiet but just wanted to give an update regarding of my blood tests. So provisionally been told it can take up to 10 weeks to get back the results, but they called me yesterday (only 2weeks waiting) that everything came back normal and in optimum levels. Asked them to email me over so I can ping to my GP (and obviously to analyse with google 😅). So free to start the FET with my next cycle, which due in 10 days time.
I will post what had been tested once I got it.
How is everyone? Is there an Aug/Sept thread?

Hopefortansy85 · 22/07/2022 16:09

Hi all, went quiet for a while busy at work and life, I had a scan today (then we went and ate cake, I fine tradition after ever clinic visit and because I have to start the pessaries again, hate them ) and FET going to happen on Wednesday which has come around super quickly!

Then I get 2 weeks where everyone treats me like a snow flake, and are sunshine and sweetness to me 😂 and I become a Princess to my husband and I can burn dinner with immunity!

@Dream5678sorry for your loss and to hear you have had a tough time with the NHS it’s really hard when you get mixed information and just want to know what to do for the best. Sending Warm thoughts your way.

@Dobcatywhat fab news about your results, and a relief, all the best for your FET in August!

@PMAmostofthetime brilliant news and 2 Frosties I have fingers and toes crossed for you. When is your test date?

@Coops0406 hope all is going well ready for your FET. 🤞🏻

Coops0406 · 22/07/2022 16:31

@PMAmostofthetime how are you doing in the 2WW?

@Dobcaty great news with the blood test results! You must be pleased!

@Hopefortansy85 thank you! Just knackered and napping a lot which seems to happen to me when I'm on the oestrogen!

@Dream5678 how are you doing?

I went to the GPs on Wednesday, as usual waste of bloody time! I asked them about doing a blood test as I've heard they should be able to help...she was so rude and said they are not obliged to do anything when you're having private treatment. I don't think I've ever had any empathy from the GPs, don't know why I bother' Anyway, she's just filled in the form to check my vitamin levels, not hormones, but she finally backed down to writing on the form to do the thrombophilia test...will have to see whether the blood clinic will do it.

Scan on Monday to check my lining and find out my transfer date for definite!
