Coops0406 · 29/04/2022 15:15

Hi,

I'm just starting this thread as i've kept joining previous ones in hope that I would be at the same time but got left behind with the ups and downs of ivf.
After 3 cycles, 2 failed fresh transfers, PGT-A testing to give us 3 euploid embryos and just now getting our results from the ALICE/EMMA/ERA tests, I am now finally in a position to hopefully start FET on my next cycle with a transfer likely to be end of May or early June!! 😍. Would love to have people to chat to who are following a similar timeline.

@LT103 yes I'm very lucky they have been so good every single nurse I've had.

@Dobcaty are you having a fresh transfer from this collection?

@BlueSilver23 when do you start stims? I know its similar time to me.

Hope everyone is ok.

BlueSilver23 · 24/05/2022 19:41

@Reefy it might be tomorrow, depending on scan and bloods. I haven’t been checked out for months now so will have to check everything looks ok to start. So I think there are a few of us starting stims now!

Reefy · 24/05/2022 19:54

@BlueSilver23 good luck for tomorrow 🤞

PMAmostofthetime · 24/05/2022 21:46

@HJen22 Thanks- looks like I'll have to join another thread in a few months though 😭

My AF showed up today right after I did the PG Test the clinic requested! I swear these things start my AF- everytime.

They have decided to do long protocol which sounds horrific for a needle Phob! But it's got to be done. They will send me an appointment i the post for 2-3 weeks- I'll have bloods and all the screening tests again and then Day 21 I will start. But I don't think I'll an appointment before day 21 this AF so will be around- 16th July which feels like forever away. 😭

Anyone done long protocol? Can you advice of the process?
They said about down reging etc

They are doing it to try and improve egg quality- any suggestions or supplements I can take for this?

@BlueSilver23 good luck for tomorrow.

X

HJen22 · 25/05/2022 06:03

@BlueSilver23 good luck for starting stims today! @Reefy how are you getting on with yours?

@PMAmostofthetime I'm sorry it's not going to be as soon as you'd hoped 😞 I really do understand the frustration at just wanting to go again.

I take ubiquinol for egg quality, try and eat salmon 1/2 times a week, take an expensive omega 3 supplement and something called NAC. I've no idea if any of these actually work though!

Does your clinic have a protocol where you have to be clear of covid for a certain amount of time? I only just found out my clinic like you to be 7 weeks clear, which I will be just when we start next week. I was annoyed they didn't communicated anywhere and I didn't know until I called and told them. I spoke with my Counsellor about it and she told the Manager who said they'd update their website. I still don't know what happens if my PCR before EC comes back positive because it's within the 90days of having Covid, waiting to hear back. I can't be the only one who's had this query. Given the importance and risk of Covid you'd really think they'd make sure patients knew all of this!! All clinics are different though I understand but I couldn't help but be a bit annoyed about it and the fact the nurse said to me "honesty is the best policy" like id kept it from them! X

FlyOnTheWall89 · 25/05/2022 06:04

Hi @PMAmostofthetime

Sorry it hasn't worked for you. I have also been recommended long protocol as my first round and I'm a bit worried by all the meds and needles. My friend had hypnotherapy and said it made a world of difference.

We will also probably be starting the cycle after next because of AF dates and clinic appointment etc. I'll remember your handle and maybe we can do it together. From what I understand it's 1-2 weeks of down reg injections (I would take buserelin), then you get a bleed. Then you switch to the other injections to grow your eggs and you are scanned to monitor them.

Ubiquinol and omega 3 would be the best things for egg quality I believe. X

Coops0406 · 25/05/2022 06:30

@Dobcaty good luck for transfer today 😊 hope all goes well and you have some fab embryos to freeze too! How has the lubion been? I have my blood test this morning to check my progesterone levels so will know later today or first thing tomorrow whether I need to have it!

@Reefy how are the stims going? How many days do you have on them? When will you have your first scan?

@HJen22 I went out for tea last night with 2 close friends, I told one about transfer tomorrow as she is starting her FET process next month for her second child (still a bit unsure how I feel about it happening so close to ours as it will be horrific if only one of ours works!). The other one I just said we've started meds as me and OH going with her and her hubby to Liverpool for a couple of nights this weekend!
My clinic have never really said anything about covid, just that they had wanted proof of a negative pcr or lft the 3 days before EC! They haven't mentioned transfer! You'd think they would have something clear in terms of timeframes so there aren't any delays that you're not aware of! Thank god you will be in the clear for your place!!

@PMAmostofthetime so sorry to hear this. Sending you big hugs.
Bloody tests...it's like they bring AF on! It was always the case for us when TTC for a year then on clomid for 6 months. I always felt like I'd just wasted money on the test as AF was literally always there within 24 hours!
16th July seems so far away but it will be here in no time! We are basically at the end of May so then it's just over a month 😃

@BlueSilver23 do you start stims today?

Speaking of ubiquinol, I have a full box of 30 if anyone wants me to post them. I know they are expensive so if anyone wants them just let me know.

Reefy · 25/05/2022 08:03

@HJen22 my clinic is 2 months clear I believe. I'm not too sure but I'm sure that's what one of my followers said who is at the same clinic. Two days in of stims & all good so far thank you.

@Coops0406 good luck for the blood test today. First scan is booked for Friday! Yes stims are going ok thanks. EC booked for either 3rd or 6th so will be either next Wednesday or Saturday be the last ones.

@Dobcaty good luck for transfer today.

HJen22 · 25/05/2022 08:21

@Dobcaty good luck for transfer today ❤️ hope it all goes well and some embabies for the freezer too 🤞🏻 let us know how you get on x

@Coops0406 ah that's nice to have told them and have that added support. Oh I know, but hopefully it's successful for both of you 🤞🏻🥰 good luck for your tests today! How are you feeling?

@Reefy glad to hear stims are going well! Are you working from home? I am on second last day of norethisterone today, I def think I've been much better on it this time round x

Away for a massage this morning, has been ages since I've had one and pay day so thought I'd treat myself 💆🏻‍♀️ xxx

LT103 · 25/05/2022 08:26

@Dobcaty good luck for today!!! Hoping for lots of lovely embabies!!

Reefy · 25/05/2022 08:36

@HJen22 a well deserved treat! No I'm not working from home, I work for our family greengrocers business doing house deliveries so it's just doorstep deliveries so I'm literally doing that then home. I was meant to be out the last 3 nights with friends but cancelled then all just to be careful. On my first round I tested everyday as was so paranoid! Not many more days of them now!

Dobcaty · 25/05/2022 09:12

Thanks girls! Today's call came earlier than expected! We have 4!!! blasto stage embryos, 1 is excellent, 2 of them are very good and one is on good grade. 🥳 so we decide to transfer only one today and hopefully we'll have 2 or 3 freeze later today or tomorrow! 😶‍🌫️ transfer is still at 2pm, now I need to get on with the water intake haha

FlyOnTheWall89 · 25/05/2022 09:50

Amazing news @Dobcaty - was that 4 from 10? Xx

HJen22 · 25/05/2022 10:24

@Reefy oh how lovely, and I'm sure nice to be able to have flexibility and understanding colleagues 🥰

Oh I know, the fear is real isn't it. I shielded from the week before I started last time, I had a scare at a kids party as someone tested positive so I hid away after that. Only to then get it right after my failed cycle. Gutted as my nephew had chicken pox, thought best to stay away in case I got bloody shingles - sure the chances are low but knowing my luck 😂 he's now all clear and the other one has spots so no visits for us. Rubbish as i had really wanted to keep busy and see people this cycle xx

@Dobcaty that's fantastic news! You must be so pleased! Not long to wait now!! Good luck and hope your bladder doesn't hurt too much with the water! X

Reefy · 25/05/2022 10:31

@Dobcaty that's brilliant! Good luck with transfer! Yes if I need a scan on a work day my Dad just waits outside in the van for me so I'm very lucky! Oh I know it's so hard as you want to see people to pass the time & not think about it but you have to do what's best for you!

LT103 · 25/05/2022 10:45

Amazing news @Dobcaty !!!!
good luck with the transfer this afternoon.

our clinic told us to only transfer one as overall better success with 4 single transfers than 2 double so I also went with single transfer

badassmum22 · 25/05/2022 12:57

Great news @Dobcaty 🎉

How are you all doing?
It's sounds a bit petty but what are your thoughts on mani/pedi while doing cycle? Can these chemicals affect the eggs? I've been trying to avoid parabens/sulfates in my cosmetics but I thought I'd treat myself before starting stims next week.
Gosh, IVF does make you feel paranoid right?

HJen22 · 25/05/2022 15:51

@Reefy aw how sweet of your Dad. Yeah I'm not sure if I'm being OTT as there is conflicting info online about chickenpox and shingles and things!

@badassmum22 I've worn nail varnish on and off throughout TTC. You aren't allowed any at EC but I'm sure you can before that. I recently dyed my hair and didn't think anything of it. It's easy to get so bogged down in all these things we should and shouldn't be doing xx

Coops0406 · 25/05/2022 18:15

@Dobcaty congrats on being PUPO and greats news that you have some good ones today and maybe a few more will catch up tomorrow to freeze! Brilliant news!

I have had one of the worst days emotionally today since the last transfer didn't work! Have Cried all day long and my eyes are barely visible! It started on my way to Liverpool for my blood test...I think the enormity of it actually happening tomorrow after 7 months since the last one, I think I've been sailing along with it never nearing and now the nerves and fear have set it!
Had my blood test, got home around midday then got a call at 1.30pm to say my progesterone level is very low (10 when it should be a minimum of 30) which I expected so gotta shell out for the lubion. I thought I could pick a few up tomorrow at transfer then get my prescription and delivery ready for Friday but they said i needed to drive back to Liverpool and pick them up today before they closed at 4pm as I need to do one today then tomorrow before transfer! What a nightmare! Then to top it off my bloody car didn't have enough charge to get there and back so went to the charger at Lidl (first time I've tried), couldn't do it, had help from a person charging their car and they couldn't do it! So had to meet OH at work and swap cars and get to Liverpool before 4pm! Made it with 5 minutes to spare! And got the nurse to do the injection because quite frankly, I'd had enough of today!!

If I was allowed wine, I would be having the bottle!! But sparkling water and a good sleep will have to do!

Hopefully tomorrow is my day! 🤞🏾

HJen22 · 25/05/2022 18:28

@Coops0406 oh love what a day 😞 I'm sorry it's been such a nightmare for you. Totally understandable to be emotional and overwhelmed today after such a long wait. Sometimes it just hits you, and when things go wrong and it seems like everything is against you it's the worst!! I'm so glad you made it to the clinic on time and that the nurse did the injection for you! I really hope you can have a chilled night tonight and I have everything crossed that tomorrow is your day 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 will they do another blood test tomorrow before it's confirmed? X.

Reefy · 25/05/2022 19:42

@Coops0406 so sorry you had a rubbish day! If only they had told
you that if it was low you would need to collect then Lubion it then you could of maybe hung around! Not helpful! It's a very emotional time & with everything since the last transfer with extra tests have hit you & with the transfer being so close now! Let it all out, tomorrow is a new day! I hope you can have a relaxed evening & I know you can't have wine but maybe another little treat 🍫 followed by a good nights sleep

Coops0406 · 25/05/2022 22:39

@Reefy @HJen22 Thank you so much 🥰 am feeling so much better...I don't think I have had a day like that for ages, this journey we're on is a tough one, and like you say, it just hits you full pelt without warning!

@Reefy I don't think they expected it to be that low and thought I would be okay to have the lubion if needed the day after transfer so it was a very quick, last minute decision. But I'm glad they did as I absolutely know they aren't taking any chances and really trying to get me the best possible outcome.

@HJen22 I think the next blood test is on Monday...if progesterone is looking on the high side they will keep me on the injections but lose one pessary, which is fine!

I should get a call from the embryologist in the morning then given a time for transfer, usually after 1pm I think. Hopefully I can get a decent sleep, I'm tired after all the emotions so that's a good thing!

Dobcaty · 26/05/2022 07:09

@Coops0406 thank you! Good luck today! Sorry you had a stressful day yesterday, but think about it, that means that you left the stress to go and you can enjoy the special event today 🥰 let us know with the updates.

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes these 4 from the 10. I didn't have too much information from yesterday morning calls. By end of day3, 4 of them fragmented too much, and didn't develop by day5 and another two were very slow so unlikely they would be ready to be freeze today.
They transferred an already hatching embryo and we agreed that we leave the other 3 overnight so I'll hear from them this morning.

@Reefy how lovely is your dad! I wish mine would know but he can't keep any secret and surely I don't need any inappropriate questions from my family, haha

@badassmum22 I was so paranoid before my first round, didn't use any makeup/hair dye/nail polish from weeks before I started any meds. Didn't make any difference and I looked horrible. This time I dyed my hair first day of the down reg injection and after EC (before ET) and had a pamper day on that day too.

Have a fantastic day girls, its almost weekend! (First day back to work for me 😅)

Reefy · 26/05/2022 08:37

@Coops0406 good luck for transfer today! I'm glad they aren't taking any chances & giving you the best chance! 🤞🙏🏻💫

@Dobcaty I know I am very lucky. Haha some people just can't keep secrets can they 😂 i have a couple of friends like that so I really have to think what I say! Enjoy the PUPO bubble 🤞🙏🏻💫

@BlueSilver23 did you start stims?

BlueSilver23 · 26/05/2022 09:17

@Reefy Yes started yesterday! Scan was fine but brief (they don’t do an AFC the second time round? Was rather hoping I’d get some numbers!).
Yeah injection was ok but convinced myself there was too little in the syringe and that’s I must have lost some meds in the mixing! 🤦‍♀️ I swear this process makes you a bit loopy and overthinking things! How are you finding the stims? I tried the cold pack this time and think it helped a little? We’ll see if that continues!

And @badassmum22 I wear nail varnish though the process! And I eat rubbish. Tbh I think it probably makes little difference.

@Coops0406 Sorry to hear you had such a day, let’s hope it was all worth it in the end! Best of luck for the transfer today!

@Dobcaty Good to hear about the little embies! Hope it’s more good news in the phone call today!

@HJen22 You finish the norethisterone today?

Good luck to everyone else who has things going on today. It’s hard to keep up sometimes!
